Cabrera probably WON'T go to the Dodgers
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 06:12 PM) So the current suitors for O-Cab are KC, OAK and ATL, yes? What are their relative draft positions? KC is 12, OAK is 13, and ATL is 7, and MIN is 23, one pick before us at 24.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 05:46 PM) No one plays "like that" every night. Espeically kids, but everyone has an off night. I still contend a big part of the problem is that when a normal player has an off night, they may lose a few minutes, but they still play. When Tyrus has an off night, he's on the bench for the next 2 weeks. On the other hand, when say, Nocioni has an off night, he's rewarded with twice as many minutes in the next game. Yeah, thats definitely true, judging by Nocioni's 22.4 mpg and Tyrus' 21.6. Give it a flippin rest Balta. Your play the kids crap has gone beyond buzz kill. Tyrus has played single digit minutes only 5 times this season.

Just saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Not what I expected, but it was pretty funny. Definitely not Superbad, or Role Models, or Knocked Up. I thought Step Brothers was funnier as well.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 16, 2008 -> 10:03 PM) Good win for the refs tonight. The phantom foul on Augustin's 3 pointer was horrific, but it should have never gotten to that point. We had the opportunity to put it away in the 1st quarter and we didn't, then we sucked the rest of the game.- Official 2008-2009 NHL Thread

QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Dec 16, 2008 -> 03:49 AM) no? atleast not here for most part. Haha, funny you should say that. You were the one calling Hawes a stiff, and a career back-up at best who couldn't rebound. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 16, 2008 -> 08:17 AM) When did that happen? There were a lot of people (including myself) who were very skeptical about Hawes (and I'd still like to see a guy 7'1 shoot higher than the mid 40's percentwise from the field), but I think just about everybody agreed that Noah is garbage and trading Aldridge for Thomas was a HUGE mistake by the Bulls. I went through the old NBA threads and draft threads last night, some VERY good stuff in there. There was A LOT of praise for both the Noah and Tyrus picks. Hindsight is 20/20...- Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
Remember when people were clamoring about how much Aldridge and Hawes sucked and how Thomas and Noah were much better picks?- Winter Meetings Chit-Chat
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Dec 16, 2008 -> 12:52 AM) Let's just hope the Reds like Taveras more then we do. Right, because Jerry Owens, who's actually older than Taveras, is a much better option.- Non-Tenders the Sox should pick up...
QUOTE (Jimmywins1 @ Dec 13, 2008 -> 03:14 PM) I don't want Beckham at 3rd, that makes it a wasted pick. He is appealing at 2B/SS because he looks like he'll have a huge OBP and above average power. He'd be going from a All-Star caliber MI to an average 3B. Furcal OR Taveras, not AND. Why not AND? Furcal batting leadoff and at SS, Taveras in CF batting 9th. Thats a s*** ton of speed you'd be adding to the lineup, and it keeps pressure of Taveras as well. Thats certainly better than Span/Gomez* 1 and 9... * Yes, I know, thats unless you're asking Hawk. - Official 2008-2009 NHL Thread
