QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 08:54 PM) I really like how Corey Graham has come along. Nate Vasher has turned into a waste of a roster spot almost overnight. Our defense isn't good enough to have wastes of a roster spot. We'd be much better in the pass game with a healthy Vasher covering speed receivers and Tillman covering possession guys with Graham playing the nickel and Manning in the dime. But the Bears seem to think Tillman can cover any kind of receiver. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 05:15 PM) Seems to still be using it just fine. That's not the ole technique, thats his turn stile technique.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 03:46 PM) Funny considering how NBA players themselves post there and executives view RealGM. In fact, aren't you still a teenager. I digress, but you should still get those eyes checked. He's playing great defense this year. His first year he sucked. Second year, he sucked with a few improvements. Third year he was mediocre, 5th year became average and this year he has become above average. You're wrong. That's really all I have to say.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 03:04 AM) It really depends on if or who Tampa adds to their lineup. Burrell or Bradley would be solid pieces for them at DH. This is true, but pitching ultimately wins. Lets not forget, NYY only finished 8 games back of TB. I don't think either Burrell or Bradley is a big enough upgrade for them to counter what the Yankees have added. Last season, the Yankees only had 2 starters (Mussina and Pettite) who had 30+ starts. Darrell Rasner was their #3 SP and Sidney Ponson was their #4. They get a healthy Wang back in 09 AND they're expected to make Joba a full time starter. They have essentially gone from Mussina Pettite Rasner Ponson/Kennedy Wang/Hughes/Pavano to Sabathia Burnett Wang Chamberlain Hughes/Pettite/Rasner/Kennedy/Pavano Thats one hell of an overhaul in the rotation. Now obviously they have question marks. Can Burnett and Wang stay healthy? Will Hughes pan out? How will Joba handle a full time starter role? Will Pettite come back? Thats a very good rotation on paper.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 01:15 AM) Tell me who has gone off on Gordon this year? No one. His defensive PER is top 3 if not the best on the team. So it does look like you haven't done your research. His efficiency this year is by far the best of any Bulls player. Dribbling has been his biggest problem this year. On all things to worry about this year, Ben is towards the bottom of the list. I could see why you post here and not RealGM with uninformed statements like he can't get around a screen. Give me a f***ing break. If I wanted to talk with 14 year old nerds about the NBA, then I'd post at RealGM. Sorry, I don't make up fantasy trades and envision a team full of Tyrus Thomas clones. I don't need defensive PER to see that Ben Gordon can't play defense. The entire Bulls team can't play defense. He's top 3 on a s***ty defensive team, awesome. Let's give him a f***ing award. No matter what you choose to see, he still can't get around a f***ing screen to save his life. Maybe you should keep posting about the NBA at RealGm because obviously my eyes are deceiving me and I'm just making uninformed statements. BG4DPOY!!!!111!1!one Saying his defense is outstanding is not only a travesty, but an insult to players in NBA and throughout NBA history who have actually played outstanding defense and actually give a s*** about their teams.

QUOTE (joeynach @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 02:17 AM) Im goin to the game tomorrow and I need some help figuring this thing out. Lets say the bears beat the Texans and Packers and finished the season 10-6. Lets also say the Vikings beat the Giants, who have nothing to play for, at home next week. They both finish 10-6, went 1-1 against each other, and went 4-2 against their division. So then what? What is the tiebreaker? In this scenario, both the Vikes and Bears finish 10-6 and the Vikings win the division because they own the tiebreaker. In this scenario, it would still be possible for the Bears to make the playoffs as the 2nd wild card depending on what DAL/TB do.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 12:44 AM) And they're still the third best team in their division, IMO. Not if Hughes reaches his potential.

CC, Burnett, and Manny? That'd be ridiculous.

Alright, so as it currently stands, this is how the Bears make the playoffs: Division Champs if... MIN loses to NYG, finish 9-7 Bears beat GB and HOU, finish 10-6 Wild Card if... DAL loses to PHI, finishing 9-7 TB loses to OAK, finishing 9-7 Bears beat GB and HOU, finish 10-6 -

Angels now out of the Tex sweepstakes as well. If I'm not mistaken, that narrows it down to BAL and WAS? Yikes. Boras is scum. Angels withdraw offer -
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 20, 2008 -> 12:23 PM) His defense this year has been oustanding actually The guy still can't get around a f***ing screen. You hit the Kool-Aid hard. He's having his best season, but he's still too inconsistent to me. He'll have some great shooting nights and some terrible shooting nights, but he'll still get 16 points, which averages out his scoring. The only thing he does really well is shoot, everything else is mediocre to below average (defense, dribbling, passing, etc). He's also a selfish prick and tends to try to run the offense too much when Rose is on the court (same for Hughes). Brandon Roy is by far a more complete player, and considering he plays in the Western Conference, I don't think it's even that close. Also, tonight is one of the reasons I hate the Bulls. We beat a good Jazz team (twice now, once w/o Williams) but we can't beat the Bobcats? Kaman would be such a welcomed addition to this squad if he's healthy, but I just don't see a fit at all with LAC. Miller would be an OK addition but we'd still be bad defensively on the interior. I suppose it's good to hear that Pax is allegedly working the phones hard. And I LOVED hearing this from Rose after the game...
