  1. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 20, 2008 -> 02:27 AM) Don't worry, we were on the land for some time, too. Here are some pictures: Mt. St. Helens from the plane flying into Seattle. Rainforest in Juneau. Northern Lights somewhere cruising Glacier Bay. Nice scenery in Skagway More nice Skagway scenery As you can probably tell, Skagway was my favorite city. When I saw the clouds in the trees, I thought I was in heaven. Victoria is the capital of British Columbia, and this is the capital building at night. Top of our cruise ship. Saw Santana vs King Felix at Safeco. Beautiful park. If you click on the picture on photobucket, it'll make it it's max in size so it's not all crunched up. Looks like quite the trip. I've got tons of pictures as well. And I hate to break it to you, but I'm pretty sure those aren't the Northern Lights. That looks more like the sunset reflecting off the clouds. The Northern Lights are generally green with some purple sometimes. When I was up there, we flew threw the Northern Lights, which was awesome seeing at night through the window. Then we also saw it a couple times driving back from Homer to Anchorage in the middle of the night. Seeing the green floating around in the sky is something you never forget.

    The Dark Knight

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 20, 2008 -> 02:06 AM) Just got back. ABSOLUTELY! The IMAX experience only made it that much better. That screen is monstrous and the bass of the movie makes you feel almost like a part of the movie. It was just an overall incredible experience. So I've been thinking, if they made a 3rd one...which direction do they go in?
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 20, 2008 -> 01:05 AM) Well good, because I've been there as well. Last year my parents and I did one of those cruises and we hit Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway, and Victoria Canada. In 1 or 2 years I'd love to live in Juneau. Alaskan Cruise's don't even do the state justice. The inland parts are just as beautiful as the gorges and icebergs and glaciers. The entire Kenai Peninsula is amazing, and Denali is awesome too. There is a ginormous taige north of the Cook Inlet which has a road going right through it. It is something else to drive through. Nothing but trees packed tightly together, all the same height, for miles and miles on all sides and they're only inches off the road.

    The Dark Knight

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 19, 2008 -> 09:36 PM) Plot Holes: However, all that being said, I adored the movie and will buy it the day it came out, and MIGHT see it again in the theaters. I wish there was more Bruce Wayne down time, but it was what it was and Ledger deserves a posthumous nod.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 19, 2008 -> 08:47 PM) Are you from Alaska? No, but I've been there. And it is the epitome of awesome. No hustle and bustle, beautiful scenery, and if you live in the southern part of the state (such as Anchorage), you can experience the beauty of Alaska as well as the "city-life." Job opportunities aren't exactly booming, and the financial aspect of it isn't great unless your in certain careers, but overall, its incredible.

  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2008 -> 09:16 PM) I clicked on the Milwaukee Journal site that's linked on rotoworld, and there were some comments in it. Oh. I was reading the blog there but didn't pay attention to the comments.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2008 -> 09:03 PM) Rumor out there of Salome and Ford for Taschner and Durham. Where are you hearing this? I haven't read Salome's name anywhere but here.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2008 -> 08:48 PM) Beane had his plan and he's sticking too it. He's rebuilding this year, and whether or not his young guys are performing, he's clearing room for anyone he can get in and clearing as much salary as he can. Argue with his methods if you want, but if you're up against the spending dollars of the Angels...then there's some logic behind going as young as you can, being willing to lose this year no matter what your young guys do, and coming on strong in a year or two while absolutely loaded for bear. He hasn't really been executing all that well if that's the case. Harden didn't really go for a ransom, many were less than impressed with the return on Blanton, and if it is Salome/Ford for Street, than I'd say it another in the favor of the guy dealing with Beane...

    The Dark Knight

I came into the movie with ridiculously high expectations and it met them and went above them. Ledger was phenomenal as Joker. He is so much darker and more evil than anything we've seen in any other Batman movie. Overall, it was an amazing movie, and seeing it in IMAX made it that much better. The one word that I always say is enthralling. It grabs you from the beginning and never lets go. The action scenes were top notch, and I definitely don't feel like I was there 2:40.

  16. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jul 18, 2008 -> 10:44 PM) If you make a statement like THIS.TEAM.IS.DEAD, you are gonna get ribbed. Stop explaining the reasoning behind it, and they will probably stop ribbing you about it kyyle...you've always been so wise.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 18, 2008 -> 08:27 AM) 300 was awful. Terrible of epic proportions. It was like a cartoon of itself, without knowing how silly it was. Why would you want another one? You are mistaken. That movie was ba. So after TDK, the next question for Christian Bale and McG...can they revive the Terminator series like Nolan/Bale did for Batman?
