QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 09:16 PM) It would have been close. You go for the out there. If you don't make the play, a sacrifice fly scores a run instead of ending the inning. The ball was in front of the runner. If Cabrera squares his shoulders when fielding that ball, he's got Punto.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 09:14 PM) We just need more hits. Walks is great and all, but unless you have Quentin getting HBP with the bases loaded, you need to be able to drive runs in. I would bet we lead the league in fewest amounts of hits that scored runs in the past 3 seasons that weren't homers. I think we've been hitting pretty well, but just not at the right time. We're getting lead-off men on, whether with singles or with walks, but we can't do anythign after that. I don't remember the last time we hit a double.

Cabrera might have had a shot at Punto going to 3rd.

The Mystery of Absinthe Revealed
Umm, it makes people hallucinate because it's 140 proof? 151 does nothing to me but get me plastered, but this s*** is supposed to make me trip? Please. I've had absinthe once, and while it does taste good (the sugar/water approach), it did nothing to me. I was extremely disappointed. Also, a note on the taste...I hate licorice but I enjoyed the taste of Absinthe.

Video Game Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 05:08 PM) My 360 version works. It looks glorious. When you are driving on the streets, it pretty much looks real. I pre-ordered mine a while back and am going to pick it up tomorrow. I cannot wait to play it.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 04:07 PM) That lineup has been used 13 times now. 1. Owens 2. Iguchi 3. Thome 4. Konerko 5. Pierzynski 6. Dye 7. Mackowiak 8. Fields 9. Uribe Was used 7 times last year. Thanks. I wish we still had Iguchi to play 2B for us right now and hit 9th.

QUOTE (Scwible @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 03:52 PM) Dye Back in the lineup. Swisher cf Cabrera ss Thome dh Konerko 1b Dye rf Pierzynski c Quentin lf Crede 3b Uribe 2b Can someone fill me in on the number of times this exact lineup has been used this season? We've got to be approaching last season's total for the most frequent lineup, if we haven't passed it already.

What is the one pitch you go to when you need a crucial out? And what do you feel you need to improve on most?

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 05:50 PM) June 23rd seems like the definite day. According to you. These make-up's never happen on the logical date and time.

8/25 Gm. 1 - SOX vs./@ BAL, 5:05 CT, CSN
QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 05:46 PM) looking at the box score, it looks like Javy should have been allowed to get the complete game. He got away with a couple bad pitches in the 8th. It could have gone either way, but we got burned in the end by giving it to Jenks.

QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 05:32 PM) It's too bad they can't settle this game in a shoot out. My money is on Uribe.

8/25 Gm. 1 - SOX vs./@ BAL, 5:05 CT, CSN
Soooooo, I'm going to go out on a limb and say there will be less than 500 people in the entire stadium when the game resumes. That includes players and coaches and camera crews.
