  1. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 03:27 PM) It's pretty simple to everyone else in the world watching the series the bhawks are outplaying Phoenix. Yes, the Blackhawks have been sloppy at times and power play been weak but like I said earlier it comes down to goaltenders and theirs is playing a ton better. So I'm wrong because I disagree? Got it.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 03:27 PM) JDINAA Works every time. 6-4-3.
  3. 1-5 against the Sox with a 3.14 ERA. That sucks.
  4. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 01:49 PM) I'll agree the bhawks have been sloppy at times but you switch goalies and this series is over. The problem goes deeper than Crawford but the talent on our roster can overcome sloppy play if we had a legit goaltender I agree that they SHOULD have won each and every one of these games, but Crawford never should have even been in those situations. The "star talent" we have has played like crap. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 02:10 PM) I actually couldn't disagree more. I'm shocked you are seeing that the Hawks have been outplayed. Even with all the slap hockey (that's what I've always called it) the Hawks have averaged 40.4 shots per game in the series. The Hawks have outshot the Coyotes 202 to 139. That's a HUGE disparity. Smith has just stood on his head. Hopefully the Hawks can have a breakout game tomorrow night. Ugh, I HATE citing shot disparity. Sure, they've outshot PHX by a mile but I'd be the number of legit scoring chances is about even, if not even favoring PHX with all the odd-man rushes we've given up. What good is it if we have 15 shots a period if 10 of them are weak wristers from the blue line on the rush with no traffic in front of the net? I understand and acknowledge that Mike Smith has had a great series, but he haven't made it all that hard for him either. Shots don't paint the whole picture. We're getting outplayed, it's pretty simple. The power play is still pretty awful and we struggle to even gain the zone in full-strength situations. We have Kane coming in 1-on-4 trying to dangle everybody and nothing is getting done. We're averaging 40 shots a game, yet how many times have you heard yourself screaming "SHOOT THE DAMN PUCK"? I know I have, on a lot of occasions. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 02:53 PM) IIRC Phx has never won a playoff round since they moved to Phx. That is correct.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 01:25 PM) Kevin Millwood hasn't retired? Which means there is no reason we should not sweep today.
  6. IMO, the Hawks are extremely lucky to be down 3-2 with how they have played through 5 games. Phoenix is THOROUGHLY outplaying us. Their forecheck is much more aggressive, they are far more physical, they win all the loose pucks, they win all the board battles, and for the most part, they end up with the advantage on any one-on-one plays. They're players are so skilled at the fundamentals, especially defensively. They stick-lift and poke-check every second of every game. I wish the Hawks played as fundamentally sound and as good as the Coyotes did.
  7. Happy Birthday Boss, er, I mean, Jason!!!
  8. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 11:06 AM) Some very cool footage behind the scenes of yesterday's milestone Perfecto I love AJ right after the toast: "Alright John, we're expecting a lot out of you tomorrow."
  9. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 06:20 PM) Did I read that right? Haha, damn W and E keys being so close together...
  10. QUOTE (OilCan @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 06:21 PM) Somehow he's not trending on Twitter yet. But here are some tweets: Sarah Spain ‏ @SarahSpain Nothing like the suspense of a perfect game - amazing stuff from Phillip Humber!!!! #whitesox Rice Owls ‏ @RiceOwlsdotcom Way to former Rice Owl Phillip Humber in the perfect game! Carlos Delgado ‏ @carlosdelgado21 #perfectgame for Phillip Humber. Congratulations! Aaron Boone ‏ @AaronBoone_ESPN Congrats to Phillip Humber on perfect game. 96 pitches is all it took. 9 K's. Awesome slider working today. Probably because people (like all the above) spell it with 2 L's when there is only one.
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 03:36 PM) Humber just struck out the side. Yeah, you read that right. Haha, this was the 2nd inning. If only I knew... Humber just threw a PERFECT GAME. Yeah, you read that right.
  12. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 06:13 PM) I watched the first five innings and then my girlfriend made me go out to eat with her parents. I may have to rethink this relationship. Also, ESPN just said AJ caught Buehrle's perfect game. Wasn't that Castro? ESPN doesn't know s*** about s***.
  13. Still kind of in disbelief. Bigger picture, the bullpen got a day off today. Always a bonus.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 05:38 PM) Where's our Liriano? He pitched last night and struck out 11.
  15. And to think, coming into this season, I didn't even think Humber could stick in the rotation. Continue to prove me wrong, Philip!
  16. Earliest perfect game in the season in MLB history.
  17. PHILIP f***ING HUMBER!!!!!!!!! 21st Perfect Game in Major League Baseball history.
