QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:39 AM) Tommy and Tank aren't going to be playing together much, they're practically the same player except for the fact that Harris>>>>>Johnson. Look for Ian Scott to be starting in Washington on Sept. 11th. Scott had 77 Tackles and 2 sacks last year in 13 games, Rivera and Lovie absolutely love him. Oh Yeah: A. Brown, I. Scott, T. Harris, A. Ogunleye, H. Hillenmeyer, B. Urlacher, L. Briggs, J. Azumah, M. Green, M. Brown and C. Tillman = #1 Defense in the NLF in '05-'06. Except for the fact that Vasher >>>> Azumah as a CB. I love that guy. He has a knack for the ball and seems to be involved in every play. I think Odom has a shot to win the OLB job over Hillenmeyer though. And I am still not sold on Mike Green...

QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:17 AM) Cedric Benson is an idiot if he wanted any chance to start then he had to sign already. Yeah. What happened to all that passion he had for football? What happened to those tears of being a Pro on Draft Day? What happened to squashing the Ricky Williams comparisons? I'll tell you what happened....money. EDIT: Fixed that for ya there Podz...

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:13 AM) The difference with those 4 is that the majority of those were top 1st rounders, except for Boldin. And I wouldn't take much stock into Kiper's opinion, he is after all Mel Kiper Jr. I know Bears fans think Grossman is going to be the messiah, but I don't see that, at least not this season. He's only in his 3rd year, and just needs to get out onto the football field and get comfortable. It's too early to expect him to lead this franchise into the playoffs. And the Bears have gotta protect him as well, which they're not great at doing. I agree. The OL has been oft injured the last few years but a healthy line of Tait, Garza, Kreutz, Brown, and Miller is a very strong OL. Grossman's main think is that he overthinks or tries to do to much. His job is to keep the offense moving and to keep the Bears in the game. Get 1st downs, make solid hand-offs, good play-action fakes, nice sharp passes, and he will be successful. Sometimes I think he tries to do too much and make something out of nothing.

QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:11 AM) Ya that's kinda a good point...but until Benson gets his ass in camp it's TJ's job to lose. With an idea of what his contract should look like since Cadillac, Williamson, Rodgers, Smith, etc. all signed, I think he'll be inked and in camp soon.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:05 AM) How about say Julius Jones has 500 more yards rushing than his brother PLUS Bradley doesn't catch more than 25 passes for a CRAZY sig. It would be a fair deal if Jones was actually the starting RB for the Bears. It is Benson's job to lose...

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) The fact is, how many rookie WR's over the past few seasons have made an instant impact? Reggie Williams didn't. Michael Jenkins didn't. Who are the expects who are high on Bradley FWIW? Because in almost every draft review I've read, they've stated that Bradley was a reach. And Rex Grossman will be learning his 3rd new offense in 3 years, plus he's only been in what 6 games? All in all, it doesn't equal good for the Bears passing attack, although surely it can't be as bad as last season, I'll give you that. And Chad Hutchison and good don't belong in the same sentence. He makes Drew Bledsoe look quick in the pocket. Michael Clayton? Roy Williams? Lee Evans? Anquan Boldin? All were great rookie players. And did you watch the draft??? Mel Kiper was gushing over Bradley. Grossman, if able to stay healthy, will be a top QB in his career. He has shown the ability.

QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:57 AM) Bradley practiced today so all is good. And I have not heard the same great reports on Hutch. There was a report on the Bears site that Hutch had been ripping up the D: Meh, Just Friday Anyways

QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:56 AM) -Merritt sucked -Berlin is on the bubble of even making the team Thought so. Merritt was only good for a WR Reverse or for an End-Around. Special teams too. Berlin will probably just take his spot. Maybe I am overrating Berlin. He will make the team because if his ST abilities and because when he catches a pass it is mostly a long pass and for 1st downs. Berlin more than just a special teams standout

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:54 AM) Ahh I knew my comment would stir up the Bears fans. The fact is Gage and Wade don't have many catches combined in their career, and it's a bit much to expect one of them to automatically step up and be the 2nd man. That said, Gage looks the one to step up if any. And SoxFan, no I don't think Bradley will suprise many. He was a reach in the 2nd round, and he's unlikely to be higher than the 4th receiver this season. That equals zero impact in an offense that is likely to be built around a power running game. Don't be surprised if he does. He is an amazing athlete and many expert from the NFL are very high on him. He can run fast and he can jump high. I believe he got banged up in training camp last night though. He tweaked his knee going up for a bomb. I do hear Chad Hutshinson is ripping the s*** out of the defense. Which is bad news in itself...for the Bears.

QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:53 AM) Merritt is gawn. Depth Chart to start the year Muhsin Gage Berrian Wade Bradley Depth Chart to end the year Muhsin Gage Bradley Berrian Wade JMO What happened to Merritt??? And I think Berlin will excel in Chicago because if Turner's offensive game-plan. And Wade will be the #2 receiver to start the year simply because he was last season and he did pretty damn well...
-
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:46 AM) I'm loving the Bears having no good receivers besides Muhammed. :finger Wade is a decent reciever. Gage was underused last season. Berrian is a deep-threat. Bradley will surprise many. Not to mention if we ever need to do an end-around we have Ahmad Merritt. And I believe we signed Eddie Berlin as a slot-reciever. Besides, we still have Jamin Elliott!

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 10:11 PM) Rock On Zeljko Samardzic I Kid because I Care Seriously, I have a big appreciation of a lot of ethnic music, despite my boorish ignorance of Serbian music. It's really cool when a new generation embraces traditional musical heritage and culture - especially even after moving to the states. BEESH! Just kidding. I appreciate the remarks but I was born here....

QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:38 AM) Anyone worried about Azumah being out for at least 3 weeks? Knowing the Bears luck (and if it's like last year) it'll be more like 8 weeks. I don't think it will hurt us that much. He'll be back by the beginning of the season so I'm not too worried. I like the team thus far. I'm loving that Rex is back to 100%. I'm loving that Benson/Jones duo. I'm loving Moose. I'm loving Peanut. I'm loving the battle between Moose and Peanut. I'm loving BU healthy again. I'm loving that Edinger is gone. I'm loving the defense. I'm loving the Tank/Tommy duo at DT. I'm loving that Waly is healthy. I'm loving this upcoming season!
