I actually change my mind...Ozzie should base it on how successful the starter has been gainst the hitter and go with the better matchup. That way, you have the other on the bench if needed to Pinch it or run.

Yeah, thats something kinda new to the Sox. A SUCCESSFUL Power Pitcher. Notice successful is all capitals. We had a big 'ol tub of lard last year who was a power pitcher but was UNsuccessful. (See Colon, Bartolo)

I am really excited and I think this team can go deep into the playoffs. Another starer and reliever, and I think we're ready for a huge run! If the Jones/Ortiz deal goes down and maybe we get Meadows from Pitt or Cruz from ATL, I'd be pumped. I love the idea of a shutdown 7th, 8th, and 9th.

If the bullpen can be solidified with the success Pollite, Marte, and Shingo have had as of late, the Sox can essentially turn games into 6 inning games knowing Pollite can come in the 7th, Marte can come in the 8th, and Shingo shut it down in the 9th, and it would take tons of pressure of the pitchers to try to pitch gems every night. The offense can and will get it done, that a given. But if the starters give 6 solid innings, this team can be dangerous.

NONE! If we can turn these games into 6 inning games with Pollite 7, Marte 8, and Shingo 9, it would take LOADS of pressure off the starters. Only 6 good innings would be required. Garland usually does solid the first 6 and then chokes in the 7th.

I want Jones/Ortiz for Maggs/Rauch. I'd do it in a second. The fact-of-the-matter is that if Maggs leaves in FA, we get squat BUT if we trade him along with Rauch for Ortiz/Jones, we basically have Ortiz for the rest of this season and Jones for 3 years. Its like trading Jones for Rauch.
