I agree they need a Reliever. But not a Closer who can be a reliever or a starter who can be a reliever. We need a Right Handed Set-Up man. Period. Sorta like Octavio Dotel.

I dont see the need of trading Valentin but I do see the need of improving the pitching staff. Jose has been very good offensively, comes through in the clutch, and has been surprisingly good defensively. For the right price (not Jose), I'd like Ramon.

Well, I gotta agree with you there. Stooping down to the opponents level is what we did last year. It cost us the division (Tampa Bay). We cant just overlook teams. I see what your saying.

Why do we need a closer all the sudden? There is no need to give uo quality prospects for a position player that is not needed. If we gave up Sweeny pr Borchard for Smoltz, its a waste. You'd be giving up a top prospect for an old man who is not needed/has someone else who is doing BETTER at his position.

The Royals are NOT a factor in this division anymore. They suck and are in LAST place for a reason. We need a Twin killer not a Royal killer. I am not saying that Jones is a Twin killer but thats what we need.

I got a couple from Sunday when I was there. 1) A row in front of me was ALL Sox fans. A Cub fan came out of the concourse when the Cubs were up 4-3 screaming "Go Cubbies!" after Sosa's 2nd HR. Of course, the Sox fans tried warning him that Maddux blows and that it was only the 3rd inning. By the 7th inning, everytime that drunk Cub fan walked by, he put his head down and pouted. 2) There were 2 Mexican Cub fans sitting behind me talking s*** but jokingly. They were So funny. They kept saying "See you at Wrigley!" They were joking around like they were really going when they werent cuz I asked. We were talking to them the whole game. They were nice Cub fans not assholes. They kept saying you can put it on the board when a Sox guy struck out but It was all fun and games. One of them was joking around with my mom and tried stealing a nacho from her. Theyw ere really cool guys.

If Alomar/Burke/Davis can platoon at Catcher and be successful, I'd be way satisfied! Alomar will most likely start when E-Lo, Mark, the 5th starter, and Jon pitch. Possibly Davis with Freddy and Burke whenever Ozzie fits him in.

I dont listen to the garbage ass Cubs stations. I dont go to the garbage ass Cubs message boards. I dont watch garbage ass Cubs games unless they are getting their asses whooped or are playing the Sox. I dont go to garbage ass Wrigley Field. I dont talk to garbage ass Cubs fans aka ALL of them!

Im getting excited. I LOVE that KW had the balls to go out and get the top pitcher available. Barring any more trades (which I hop DOES NOT happen)....Loaiza, Buehrle, Garcia, Garland, and Schoney CAN take us to the playoffs with a Al Central title but Loaiza, Buhrle, Garcia, Ortiz, and Garland CAN take us far in the playoffs.

I was there on Sunday at it was a good 3-1 Sox ratio. I saw tons of black and not so much blue. There were nly a few Cub fans in my section (516).

Welcome aboard venezuelansoxfan! I would prefer something original. Something SOX fans invented, something we could put on a sign at the games, something that will catch on quickly. The Torpedo is pretty cool.
