June 28, 200421 yr Kudos to Trader Ken for pulling off this deal! Now let's keep it rolling... A trade with Montreal for SP-Livan Hernandez and C-Brian Schneider This stablizes our rotation with five horses and gives us back a great young catcher with good offensive and superior defense. Plus he is LH. Then a trade with Baltimore for LH-BJ Ryan This will solidify our Bullpen and we are set for the long haul. As I said...this is a wish list... Anyone else have some realistic trade ideas?
June 28, 200421 yr So what would we have to give up for Hernandez/Schnieder? I'd like to see what we have left to give up that will realistically give us a shot?
June 28, 200421 yr As I said...this is a wish list... Anyone else have some realistic trade ideas? Those two are typically at odds I think if we got BJ Ryan, we'd be pretty set. I'm still trying to figure out with our pitching staff. If we don't trade either of Diaz or Rauch, which one goes down to AAA (or does Vic go down there)?
June 28, 200421 yr No to BJ. He's a hot head. Tempermental. Very confrontational. And parties too much. Not a good example setter.
June 28, 200421 yr He also has a good ERA out of the bullpen and would look a lot better than Action Jackson... but maybe you're right. He sort of sounds like Kyle Farnsworth who's always up and down
June 28, 200421 yr Author No to BJ. He's a hot head. Tempermental. Very confrontational. And parties too much. Not a good example setter. Good point Steff, We got a lot good character guys on this team...no need to mess it up.
June 28, 200421 yr A quality MR and a decent catcher. Schoeneweis can be the #4 and Garland the #5 (or vice-versa) Luis Ayala and Brian Schneider. Send Montreal: Kelly Wunsch and a middle range prospect.
June 28, 200421 yr I would like the Sox to take a hard look at getting Jason Kendal. He would be a solid C and a very good #2 hitter. The only roadblock is his huge burdensome contract
June 28, 200421 yr A very long shot: Johnny Estrada. Atlanta gave up Kevin Milwood for this guy. But hes young and and probaly cheap so I doubt we could get him.

June 28, 200421 yr Some kind of middle relief would be nice. Dump Mike Jackson ASAP. Lately I have taken to calling the pen "the arsonists". They don't put out fires, they start them. I would like to see a LH power bat in the middle of the line up, but right now I would be happy seeing Maggs back in the line up. There will be teams melting down quickly, and there will be plenty of parts out there to be aquired. We did the hard part by aquiring Garcia, the rest is icing on the cake.

They don't put out fires, they start them. eh, I think it's more like trying to put out a firestorm by driving an oil tanker into it, but yeah, the whole fire thing works pretty well when describing our bullpen of late. Politte looked decent in his last few outings and Cotts was solid when he played this weekend. Maybe they'll turn it around and we'll be alright.
June 28, 200421 yr Kip Well and Jason Kendall. IF the Sox take on a little over half of Kendall's remaining contract, they will be able to get Kip Wells at quite the discounted rate. Heck, you could maybe see a package of Rauch and Sweeney. I was just looking and noticed Wells has really gone into a funk. I'm guessing it was related to an injury or something. He finally pitched well his last start, but after a very good April, he wasn't the same. Still, I'd love him in the rotation, plus you get Kendall for maybe 6 mill a year and its not as bad.
June 28, 200421 yr Jason Kendall and Kip Wells/Kris Benson for Borchard, Jackson, and Rauch but only if Pitt picks up some of Kendalls contract.
June 28, 200421 yr Anderson, Sweeny, Borchard, Davis, Rauch for Miguel Olivo :banghead :headshake Keep it up and pretty soon your gonna be banned from posting. You have to add Mike Jackson in that trade! Duh!!!
June 28, 200421 yr Since they are in the middle of a race too, they probably wouldn't do this, but what about Yorvit Torrealba from the Giants. he's 25, has a gun, hit pretty well (except this year) and is buried behind AJ Pierzinski. He's been the back up for three years now, and he probably needs a change of scenery. With a little Alomar jr. tutaledge, you never know.
June 28, 200421 yr I'd like Jason Kendall, and that Meadows guy from Pittsburgh. Maybe Toronto has a solid reliever they'd be willing to part with?

June 28, 200421 yr As far as a reliever, I'd kill to get that Duchscherer guy from Oakland. He killed us with that 12 to 6 curveball.
June 28, 200421 yr He's pretty intriguing and he has an awesome name! YOR-VIT!!! YOR-VIT!!! YOR-VIT!!! :headshake
June 28, 200421 yr I think Todd Jones would help from the right side. Then we can just dumb Jackson. Jones Stats This Year: G GS IP H R HR BB SO K/9 W L Hld Sv BS BAA WHIP ERA 38 0 46.0 36 19 3 19 31 6.07 5 2 18 1 4 .225 1.20 3.52
June 28, 200421 yr look at the expos they maybe willing to deal. they have no chance this year and are at the mercy of baseball, zach day... tony armas jr anyone, both quality arms. They would like a nice OF prospect and middle reliever probably for there future home in DC.
