I really dislike it when a campaign . . .
QUOTE(Reddy @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 04:37 PM) i hate it when campaigns base their campaign entirely on meaningless rhetoric to rile up emotions instead of actually dealing with issues. this is why the candidates i support always lose - they're issues candidates. You should be in hog heaven now then, because all of these candidates certainly do have issues.

Yet more troubling is that we call briefs a pair of underwear when there's no legs in them at all, just a couple of holes.

Romney drops out of campaign
QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 03:50 PM) Some of you people can't comprehend that what is crazy to you isn't crazy to a whole lot of others. The "Vote for a Democrat = Vote for the terrorists" fearmongering tactics worked like a charm in 2004 so what the hell, Mittens thought he'd flog that dead horse one last time. Like you, I expect his 5 military-age sons will all be enlisting next week since they no longer are serving their country by helping get Dad elected.

All y'all people wearing some cruddy jeans other than Levi's are probably the same shifty people who like ketchup on their hotdogs.

DEM Primaries/Candidates thread
QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 12:02 PM) Well, it would be hypocritical for Obama to fight if Hillary won the state delegates. the whole campaign has been about the people. what the people want. If Clinton wons, the people wanted her. He should step aside in my opinion. However, i am not to sure about Hillary. I think there would be a LOT of pressure for her to move aside, but we all know the Clintons are stubborn. They'll fight it. It would be hypocritical if the DNC started to ebtertaining the possibility of seating the FL and 50%MI delegates as determined on 1/29 after stating in no uncertain terms that they would not be seated because the early primary occurred in violation of the party rules. A revote or a caucus in March would eliinate that problem (not that I'm sure the state would agree to hold it), but if the national superdelegates are still the trump card then I don't see how a revote and a newr 50-50 split of a couple hundred delegates will settle anything.

DEM Primaries/Candidates thread
QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 11:32 AM) I think there needs to be an agreement after the last primary. Make is simple. No superdelegate decisions. Whoever has the most pledged delegates wins, the other steps aside. That would be up to Dean and the candidates I guess, and Dean has noted he's looking to make some sort of compromise if there is no clear frontrunner by March.

DEM Primaries/Candidates thread
QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 10:31 AM) Not sure if you guys heard this or not, but there is a rumor floating around that Michigan and Florida might REDO their primaries post-March 4th. Rumor is Michigan would do some sort of a caucus, but Florida is a different story. They might take the "national average" and divide there delegates that way. Below is last nights Countdown with Kieth Olberman... I haven't head that, and for Florida at least I seriously doubt it will happen. At any rate, it's not going to matter in Florida because a second vote would still split delegates essentially 50/50 or maybe slightly more for Clinton. No way that is going to dictate a winner. Sadly, it really looks like it's going to come down to the superdelegates and at a brokered convention.

Romney drops out of campaign
QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 10:39 AM) That was a disgraceful speech yesterday by Romney. You know the guy's just way to smart to believe even half the loony crap he rambled off. I gotta agree with Jon Stewart on this one. "f*** You" Mitt Romney! Meh, If he was half as smart as he tries to project he would have stayed home and kept his $40 mil in the bank.

Food Thread
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 10:12 AM) Beer! Whilst I agree beer is and should be the the natural answer to every human need, it is of course a very poor source of protein. Now, the discarded brewery yeast on the other hand would be a fine source of protein. But DBHAO has already voiced his aversion to Vegemite which is the quintessential brewery yeast byproduct intended for human consumption.

Soxtalk's Biggest Loser Club
I am underwhelmed by this week's loss of a measly 1 pound. On an optimistic note, I have not yet had my daily, err. . . constitutional so that is no doubt making me appear heavier than I actually am. I'm hoping for a 4-pounder. . .

Romney drops out of campaign
QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 08:36 AM) I believe both parties should hear what all their members are thinking. Ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod. . . THEY'RE LISTENING IN ON OUR THOUGHTS NOW!!! :o This is the very kind of personal intrusion us conspiracy theorists have been warning you about for years. Not only that, one of our own SoxTalkers is openly advocating for and condoning this activity. Time to stock up on the heavy duty tinfoil now and keep the political parties out of my head.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 01:38 AM) :headbang If I lose 2 lbs this week I'll be satisfied. Weigh-in at 7 am. A pound?!!? A stinking pound is all I lost this week?!! Grrr. I'm now firmly in the part of the diet where the pounds aren't just dropping off anymore. Depressed now. . . . think I'll have ice cream and alfredo sauce for breakfast. Hope y'all do a lot better than me.

QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 09:52 PM) I just watched Superbad and aside from the part about the kid with the addiction to drawing dicks it was pretty terrible. Pretty much, but I loved that part. And the compilation of drawings for the closing credits had be rolling. The McLovin was kinda funny too.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 07:13 PM) So any tips on any unlikely foods that are really good protein sources? For example a typical day of food for me would be a breakfast of cereal, a bagel before I get to work (with nothing in it), a lunch consisting probably of some sort of foccacia / sandwich (it'll most likely have chicken in it), an apple / chocolate bar in the afternoon, some potato chips when I get home from work, dinner would probably be a Steak / Chicken / Fish with potatoes, carrots, beans, celery, lettuce and broccoli and Dessert would probably be some Ice - Cream or an Orange. (Waits for the you need to eat more posts..........). And not a whiff of Vegemite anywhere in there?!? Are you sure you're Australian? - Food Thread
