  1. Wow. That hurt. But it does remind one of the story of Ibrahim the monk... A wandering monk, Ibrahim walked barefoot everywhere he went, to the point that the soles of his feet eventually became quite thick and leathery. And because he ate very little, he gradually became very frail. Several days often passed between opportunities to brush his teeth, so he usually had bad breath. Therefore, throughout the region, he came to be known as: the "Super-Calloused Fragile Mystic Hexed by Halitosis." (Um-diddle-iddle-iddle Um-diddle-ay )

    Sniff, sniff...

    My sympathies, Steff, it never is easy. But I'd also urge you to maybe take a last ditch stab at finding a home for it if it really just comes down to the uncontrolled peeing (ie, the infection is not causing the animal unbearable pain). It might be hard as hell getting somebody to take on a problem animal, but there are some big hearted people out there. We have 5 cats (most times I think it's about 4 too many, but we fall in that big hearted/stupid category). My oldest is almost 20 and has been with me since he was 6 months old. He's almost blind and has arthritis and is also to the point of peeing everywhere but the box. With the new house this is a nightmare. But damn, he still wants to be here, still gets off on being part of the mix, and refuses to give up the ghost. It's very peaceful when they are put down, and you can be there. I took my wifes' long-time family cat in to be put to sleep (inoperable mouth and tongue cancer) and she went very peacefully. In her case, she definately got to the point where her quality of life had deteriorated drastically and it was her time.
  3. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:59 AM) When I attended UIC, I went to Al's one time and was not impressed at all. The hell you say. I dunno, I sure remember them fondly, and the place was just behind my high school so it was a regular stop. Nothing bad to say about Portillos though, and one just opened up by my folks so it's become a high point of every visit. Gotta try Kid's recipe now, too.

    MLB TV

    The WCIU deal perpetually plagues us out of towners because it is an exclusive broadcast (mlbTV notwithstanding). So those are games you can't get in the Extra Innings cable package. Kind of like how ESPN's Sunday evening exclusive broadcast rights screws it up for out of market viewers. I'll also be SOL for the Rays series' because I'm supposedly in the local market for those even though here 3 hours away from St. Pete I can't pick up Rays broadcasts to save my life. At least I'll make the trip over there for the afternoon game in that series.
  5. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:18 AM) Can't we all just get along? Apparently an 8-game streak spoiled us and some folks forgot that you lose some too. Not always in such a spectacular fashion as tonight maybe... but it's still just one loss.
  6. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:05 AM) sending Buehrle out for the 7th on a night where everyone in the damn building knew he didn't have it was stupid I'd say that's it in a nutshell. Mark got a break when the bats picked him up in the 6th, but he didn't have it enough to come out for another inning and it was obvious.
  7. Shoulda just plunked Chavez there and called it a night.
  8. The House of Horrors Curse has yet to be successfully excorcised. A's up by a pair.
  9. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:56 PM) Harris botches it and the go ahead run scores. Willie at SS for any length of game (like more than a couple of innings) will not put my mind at ease.
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxeducator @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:52 PM) what a cunundrum we got here: sox lose- all ozzies fault sox win- still ozzies fault since we barely won No conundrum (nor riddle, nor enigma)... The ugly win is always preferable to the ugly loss. We're not proud, we're Sox fans.
  11. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:51 PM) JERMAINE DYE GO AND SUCK A PENIS YOU PENILE CROCODILE. How many sigs is this going to end up in?
  12. f***. Way to give the A's fans something else to razz you for, Jermaine.
  13. QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:43 PM) This is the kind of game that makes you just want to smoke a bowl and pass out. f***ing ACT's in 7 hours. Then most definately smoke that bowl Zero.
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxfan13 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:43 PM) I hate these f***ing nerve-racking types of games. All I know is extra innings would kill this east coast boy tonight.
  15. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:41 PM) I'm in the chat room moron. Can you feel the love tonight?
  16. QUOTE(shagar69 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:36 PM) is the score 7-6 or 7-7? espn and sportsline say 7-6 7-7
  17. QUOTE(thomsonmi @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:34 PM) Anyone notice that there are 94 users on line right now? Is this opening day? Not bad for a late-night west coast game. Probably the WCIU deal putting a few Extra Innings package folks online tonight. Lord knows that's why I'm slumming...
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:33 PM) Sox can get some more runs and the bullpen can shut em down from here on out. Yeah, that^^^
  19. QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:30 PM) Score? 7 and 7. Mmmm, thirsty...
