  1. Way, Willie. Let's not waste this Timo...
  2. "Jesus blows up balloons all day - Sits on the porch swing watching them fly."
  3. Ach!! Sounds like Lee's throw was right on, too.
  4. You're probably right, Steff. I thought she told me camera guy, but baybe it's for the jumbotron and not network broadcast...? would that make him part of the Sox org?
  5. I know HSC and think she's a great person. Only met her in person once at a GUG tailgate opening day last year. I didn't blame her for pretty much bailing on this place last year when posters ragged her incessantly about insider info she shared that did or didn't pan out. i know others here have had ups/downs with her, but that's just life I guess. There are people here that seem better connected to the organization than her, but at the very least she has a brother who works the TV broadcasts (camera operator I think) so I valued her insights and rumors above those of the 'friend's mechanic's neighbor' variety... She is a racecar fan, though, so that's got to count against her... As far as her defending ncrgbl, who knows. As far as his being a "fraud" again, who knows or cares. He's got an abraisive personality to be sure, and the best way to not get into it with him was just to steer clear. Personally, I think SoxTalk ows him a debt of gratitude because several quality folks here came this way to get away from the B.S. between him and all his sparring partners.
  6. I figured out the connection between the two. If you don't want to be such a 'quickman,' don't they say you're supposed to think about... base ball??
  7. I'll add my speculation as well, and that is that while dirty bombs probably can be delivered via a missile system, nobody would probably bother. Like Kap said, dirty bombs are low-tech "suitcase bombs" that use conventional explosives to broadcast low level radioactive contamination over relatively short distances. Anybody with the wherewithal to build or acquire a missile delivery system may also have the means of building/acquiring enriched nukes. On the other hand, if we are talking about a portable rocket grenade type of delivery system and not ballistic missiles, then yeah I'd say they would have to be considered very good candidate dirty bomb delivery systems. Again, though, it might not be worth the bother. It's easier just to leave a suitcase bomb at a target than to strap an equivalent onto a rocket. I'm actually surprised (thankfully so!) so-called dirty bombs have not become a reality for stateside terror attacks. Low-level nuclear material is as close as the local hospital radioactive waste repository or chemical supply catalog (which pretty much anyone affiliated with a university or research institution can order from without question). I assume the bed material from next-generation pebble reactors would be ideal material, and there are I don't know how many stalled pebble reactor projects there are in Europe where material could be procured. Then again, the bang just might not be worth the buck for potential terrorists. Small impact acts like a dirty bomb explosion are more aimed at striking widespread fear and terror (like anthrax in the mail) than really being out and out destructive, right?
  8. Apparently a slow month for quotable SoxTalk. Start swinging those bats, People! Here's one, hopefully to break us out of the slump... Aboz started a thread in SLaP about "Passion" actor James Cazievel (sp?) being repeatedly mistaken for the real Jesus while in Mexico. To which CrimsonWeltall replies:
  9. You heard wrong. I admint I was born without the AC/DC tolerance gene, but I can deal with it at ballgames.
  10. Hmmm. Taking back God. Then taking back the country. Sounds like a tough proposition - GET DOWN TO IT, MAN!!!
  11. No, that was a legit and interesting observation. 12-0 is NOT a low-scoring game, just very one-sided. But tonight in the AL we also saw 18 runs (Det 10 NY 8), 16 runs (SEA 4 TOR 12), 17 runs (TEX 9 CLE 8), 14 runs (OAK 3 BOS 11), 16 runs (TB 13, BAL 3), and another 12 run lopsided game between the Twinks and KC. Lots of run-scoring tonight around the league - just not by us...
  12. Gesundheit! And have a rocking, FutureSoxeristic trip!
  13. Not wanting to be outdone bu the other pitchers, Adkins with a leadoff walk and then a blown fielder's choice...
  14. Just setting the stage for the dramatic 10-run Bot9...?
