  1. Didn't he say the exact opposite to this last year and up til spring training this year? I'll have to go find the quotes. But I specifically remember him getting on Yoan last year for being too patient and wanted him to attack more on borderline pitches.
  2. When hitting approach drastically alters year over year for an entire team, I'll go ahead and blame the guy in charge of hitting approach.
  3. Sox are currently dead last in walks and OBP after finishing 4th and 3rd in those categories last year. Clearly Menechino felt the Sox were too patient last year and wants them to be more aggressive on pitches in the zone early in the count. He and anybody involved with this YoY change needs to be fired yesterday.
  4. idk it’s clear as day when you look for it, brings it up over the top of the mitt on heaters so if the batter sees ball a heater is coming and vice versa
  5. Yoan ripped a single for Charlotte today, was also caught stealing and committed an error and was pinch hit for, anybody know why he was pulled? Planned per Helms
  6. 115 exit velo, insane
  7. I would still love to have about 15 guys taken after Nick in the 2018 draft.
  8. The ball used to sink without him even trying and now he can't get it to even when he's focusing on it. Sooooo, the tack did all the work and now you're cooked? Great.
  9. Bright side take is this team is still just not hitting the ball and cannot possibly keep this level of suck up all season.
  10. The way this season is going, the Sox will tie this up with a bloop and a blast then find an even more frustrating way to blow it in the 11th.
  11. That slightly delayed ring up nearly gave me an aneurysm.
  12. TLR probably still unaware of the ghost runner.
  13. Gavin has the highest Batting Average on the team over the last 7 games.
  14. I somehow convince myself the other team just missed it
  15. Def feels like the Sox are hitting a different ball than the rest of the league.
  16. He's completely overmatched on fastballs and he knows it, causing him to be way out in front on any breaking stuff, he's just a mess right now.
  17. Soxtalk: This organization sucks and keeps trying to fit square pegs into round holes. Also Soxtalk: Let's re-sign Jose until he's 40!
  18. I don't buy any of the publicly stated reasons for the shift ban and assume it was 100% Boras driven to make his power hitting clients hit for a better BA and therefore command more $.
  19. Great to see Jose roping a ball to the right side.
  20. Yes, if we can manage to get this staff healthy I'm actually pretty excited about it. Clearly the #5 starter leaves something to be desired, but this is very workable, just score some runs please. 1 - Lynn 2 - Gio 3 - Cease 4 - Kopech 5 - Cueto/Keuchel LRP - Cueto/Keuchel/VV LRP - Reylo MRP/Lefty - Banks MRP - Burr/Foster/Ruiz/Severino/Sousa MRP - Bummer SU - Kelly SU - Graveman CP - Liam
