  1. Sure, just that Lewis would strike me as the most available of the group. Unless they're concerned about Kelenic's less than stellar start.
  2. Julio Rodriquez is the future at RF, Kyle Lewis, Kelenic, Haniger, Winker, maybe they're willing to deal Lewis.
  3. Seattle is intriguing, they have too many young promising OFs for available positions and could use bullpen help now that they're all in.
  4. Would prefer that too, would just be shocked if PIT dealt him.
  5. Agreed, I'd kick off negotiations with Burger, Cespedes, and Dalquist or Kelley for Manaea.
  6. I'll agree they should have signed Escobar, should have traded for him last year frankly.
  7. Yeah I don't get the hate on a 1 year stopgap deal. Cesar had to go, other than Semien and a Ketel pipedream trade who really excites anybody?
  8. By all means, provide the list of elite offensive 2B that were realistically available. They have the 5th highest payroll in the league, I'm not sure what you guys were realistically expecting them to do. Yeah, this is a standard Sox move, I don't love it, I don't hate it, it's a guy for 1 year that can play a position of need competently.
  9. The OP and myself have not mentioned him starting, you strawmanned that one. They obviously plan to play Leury a bunch at 2B, but like I said, if the 2B plan isn't working out just get a guy in the season. There's no sense in melting down over a 1 year depth piece deal.
  10. Did you not watch Cesar last year? Clearly didn't want to be here and crumbled under the pressure of being on a winning team. Bunch of speculation that he was a bad clubhouse fit. Every A's fan loves Harrison, he can also play anywhere on the field, which Cesar was clearly incapable of.
  11. If this offense/team needs elite production out of their 2B then something went terribly wrong.
  12. Last year he played 800 innings of league average 2B, put up a better offensive WAR and OPS than your precious Michael Conforto and costs nothing. If he sucks, deal for a 2B before the deadline.
  13. Maybe I'm biased living in the Bay, dude is a star and a top 3 1B in the sport.
  14. Which is absurd, he's a GG 1B and Jose is not.
  15. Yeah, my hypothetical is mostly based on the fact that he's available, fits the LHH power need and we have nothing else to talk about so why not speculate wildly. I'd rather buy low on Bellinger since he fills a positional need, but couldn't imagine what kind of package LA would demand for him.
  16. He did seem to run out of gas at the end of the year, hopefully just needs to adjust to a full MLB season.
  17. Bryce not being here is nearly as painful for me as Jr. not being here. Just the perfect fit for this team right now.
  18. True, but Olson is better than all of them by a lot. Because Olson fills a need on a WS contending team and because I have an irrational hatred for Michael Conforto.
  19. Would you do this deal for a LHH stud 1B of the present and future to replace Jose and eaze the sting of losing Vaughn? A's get immediate production and controllable upside in Vaughn, a potential 3B to attempt to fill Chappy's shoes after he's dealt, and a nice poor man's Khris Davis to boot.
  20. I want to preface this statement by saying I am in no way supporting or advocating Bauer's alleged actions. I have always found the timing of the accusations quite curious, and my conspiratorial mind wonders if there is some connection between Bauer's spotlight on sticky stuff spin rates and these reports coming out as possible retribution. Before you call me crazy, think about all the $$$ on the line for many of the spider tack users. Hell, it's straight out of the Roger Goodell playbook.
  21. Found this, I remember reading somewhere (coulda been on here or Twitter) that it was even worse than the picture the write up painted. https://mlb.nbcsports.com/2011/09/03/white-sox-gm-kenny-williams-has-heated-exchange-with-hitting-coach-greg-walker/
  22. Wasn't there a famous screaming match during a game once where KW came down to rip Walker a new one regarding the massive hitch in Gordon's swing, which prevented him from hitting any fastballs up?
  23. I would think Vaughn and one or two of Dalquist/Kelley/Vera gets it done, which I'd do in a heartbeat. I'm intrigued by a potential Gleybar deal since his value will likely never be lower, I didn't watch a ton of NY ball this year, how real are the personality/effort concerns with him?
