  1. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 09:48 AM) Bunch of damn hypocrits. You're all for "equality under the law" yet you disparage a group of people based on where they live and for whom they vote. No wonder the Democratic Party gets it's ass kicked over and over and over and over again. I'm sorry, where did I say that?
  2. I am a firm believer that premeditated murder is still murder, no matter the circumstances or intentions behind it.
  3. In the long term, this will be good for the MidEast. In the short term, it won't seem that way.
  4. I think she's stupid. But I thought that it was interesting that advocating the death of a Supreme Court justice is a felony in Arkansas.
  5. Her joke is technically a violation of Arkansas law and is punishable by ten years in prison.
  6. QUOTE(samclemens @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 07:03 PM) you seem like a pretty bitter or angry guy when it comes to this topic. seriously, im not trying to offend you, you just come off that way. he does make a decent point about the small percentile. to make an extreme point, theres around 4-6,000 people who vote for the american nazi party in each election. i dont see a s***load of movies and sitcoms about them and a s***load of legislation for what that tiny group of society wants. or wican laws, we should be having more wican and warlock legislation in the US house and senate. equal protection under the law is a legal fiction that we strive for as a society but we will never acheive. to think imperfect beings can is pure idealism, or more frankly put, a pipe dream. and for the record, i would never let my kids see a movie about queer cowboys because i dont want to promote that sort of thing to them, not because i am predjudiced. i guess i would just rather have my kids doing the asskicking on the playground instead of getting their ass kicked. now please dont start with any more namecalling, cause i noticed you and juggernaut were getting into it. just giving my point of view. I love your honesty. I don't love your point of view. I don't love being compared to nazis, wiccans or warlocks. I don't love that it's legal in most states to be fired for being gay, yet not legal to be fired for being a wiccan, or a warlock. It may very well not be legal to fire someone for being a nazi. I don't love being called a threat to marriage. I don't love the fact that I had to lie about my entire life to keep my job in Michigan. I don't love the fact that I have been denied jobs solely because I am gay. I don't love the fact that people think gay people want special rights because they want the same rights that you have. I don't want to be a political issue and if you notice, the only ones that bring it up all the time, are the ones that want to insult gay people. I get insulted when other people think that I have some secret agenda. Or that gay people do. And I get insulted when people believe that the notion of equal rights doesn't or shouldn't exist. Sorry if I seem overly sensitive, but it's all part of my "agenda," I guess.
  7. If its meth, does that make the birdman the new iceman?
  8. The pictures attached to that article are stunning.
  9. I think anyone that meets me knows that I am utterly common. Being gay has nothing to do with that. But the "hollywood homosexual agenda" that you describe calls for equal protection under the law. I should know because I'm a proponent of it. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a latte to sip. And that's a chore because I hate coffee.
  10. If the A's signed him for 500K, would it have been so hard for us to do the same? Just asking, don't really know. Could we have maybe offered him a job in the organization?
  11. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) I'm a social & economic conservative that believes majority opinion trumps most everything else. On the issues: The homosexual agenda - I think it's blown way out of proportion. Depending on which survey & research you look at this contingent of the population amounts to either 2%, 4%, or 7% of the population. Hardly worth featuring such a character in most of the Hollywood fanfare. As to it's legitmacy that's a complete crock of bulls*** with a capital BS. Kinsey's data was taken primarily from sex offenders serving prison sentences & college students who WERE interested in his homosexual & bisexual agenda to begin with. Furthermore much of the data related to male sexuality came from pedofiles who had sexually abused & tortured young males. In his own words he came to realize that his life's work was a waste & he should have stuck to wasps. Furthermore the agenda for the Kinsey institute reads like something out of a Japan porn film. In the 70's-80's the institute was pushing an idea that incest is a normal thing. Putting all that aside despite the Hollywood homosexual agenda science will prevail. If there is a genetic function to that population it will be found & when it is prevention will be marketed. The same applies to abnormal pregnancies. At that point all that will remain is a behavioral function & that will reduce this population to nothing more than what it is: a sexual fetish. I'm not gonna get into an argument with you about the nature of homosexuality, but the "Hollywood homosexual agenda?" Honestly, even the 700 Club gave up that phrase years ago. The "hollywood homosexual agenda" is equal protection under the law. That's a basic right in this country. If you feel it should be up to majority decision, I'll tell you what - I'll put up a poll right here about whether or not you have a right to post here. If you lose, would you leave?
  12. QUOTE(Cknolls @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 08:57 PM) But he was back in Washington today speaking on the floor of the Senate. Quick turn around don't you think. You couldn't do that flying commercial, in coach no less. Actually, yes you could. There are literally dozens of flights connecting Europe to the East Coast daily! And they take mere hours rather than days.
  13. Another reason to be a Democrat. I spoke with New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine today while hanging out at the Governor's mansion. Before complementing me on my beard, he did in fact confirm that he is a lifelong White Sox fan.
  14. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 06:16 AM) So, we should give California, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona back to Mexico? We incorporated California, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona into our country. Israel has no such plans to do so with West Bank or Gaza. So its a different argument.
  15. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 01:19 PM) Rick Steves' Italy Frommer's Munich Just "Italy"? Or "Italy Through The Back Door"?
  16. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 06:25 PM) That being said, Bob Casey Jr only exists because of his late father's Gubernatoral status in PA. Santorum may not say the things that YOU like, but at least he's consistent and believes in something. Not living in Pennsylvania would be one of them.
  17. Real interesting read on this topic. http://www.slate.com/id/2134845/nav/tap1/
  18. I'm no big fan of Casey, but here's the competition. Senator Rick Santorum. He was talking about Santorum bumper stickers apparently. There's a video link which I can't watch at work here. http://santorumexposed.com/serendipity/arc...Do-For-You.html
  19. Something tells me the filibuster will never happen. But it never hurts to "raise your profile." John Kerry has become a total toolbox since Jan 05 when he decided to run for President again. Stop grandstanding and be a good Senator.
  20. They could introduce articles of impeachment. Oh wait, they've tried before and they weren't honored. They could try to hold hearings, but the rules prevent them from being entered into the Congressional record. They could ask the administration to answer questions but they have and the administration has refused. They could demand investigations from the full Congress, but those get rejected too. They could command a secret session of the Senate to get information from the NSA on this program... but that's an extraordinary step taken only when every recourse is taken because it essentially shuts the government down for a day. So short of that, I don't know what they can do.
  21. No, YAS. I'm asking you what they should do since you pretend to have all the answers regarding this.
  22. I did. Had a 96 Oldsmobile that was having rust issues five years in. Engine ran well though and lasted about 140,000 miles. Before that I had a 95 Bonneville that lasted until 155,000 miles. When I was shopping around, I just didn't see a GM car that caught my eye. The aveo was too small, the Malibu had terrible mileage, and there was nothing else that GM made that I could afford that I liked in the least. GM let its design get stale. It made the mistake of trying to bail out unsuccessful Asian car makers hoping to gain world market share rather than improving its market share by making better cars.
