By the way, did you that the real John Updike voiced himself in an episode as Krusty the Clown's ghostwriter? He got to say "John Updike!"
-
He is an ass. Perhaps a Rally Salinger would have been funnier, but I'm sticking to Updike for its intrinsic comedic value.

Your Hammer lovefest makes me ill. Just sayin. Rally Updike!

Discussion on any indictment of any political figure: Supporter: Partisan hackjob! Opposer: Actually, no. This guy goes after everyone. *inserts facts* Supporter: Nuh-uh! Whatever. If he's guilty he should go to jail. If he's not his district should smarten up and vote the scumbag out. After all this is a guy who let Jack Abramoff take him to Saipan to protect the American sweatshop and sex trade there.

Brownie and Chertoff were denying that people were at the Convention Center in New Orleans three days after the hurricane. They were denying it despite video and audio reports. They knew the magnitude of this storm and were asleep at the wheel.

Rabbit Run, Redux and most of "IS Rich" are all genius. As are his short stories. Not as big of a fan as Gunter Grass, but I thought a Rally Grass icon would be a little too much.

Former FEMA Chief Mike Brown Chris Shays R-CT Gene Taylor D-MS Kay Granger R-TX By the way, Mike Brown is charged by FEMA (and is getting paid for it) to investigate the failings of Mike Brown at FEMA during the Katrina disaster.

I think if the government isn't prepared to create the infrastructure to travel to their jobs without the need for fuel (i.e. decent mass transit systems), maybe they should take a look at how we deal in the business of getting to work from home and back.

Juan Pierre would be awesome in my ideal lineup. I like the idea of Griffey DH'ing if we really need the bat. Otherwise I'd love to have the DH be someone that we could use on the field other days.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 01:18 PM) Yeah. But what is sad is you know Mr. Mercury would have LOVED to have lived forever if he could have. With the new "Queen" also, it has to be remembered that Mercury has been gone now almost as long as Queen had been around at the time of his death. That's a LONG time to honor somebodies death when that honoring means killing your own career. I'm not so sure how much Mercury would have loved this. He was a VERY private person, basically had few friends, and trusted nobody. He felt most people only wanted to be with because of who he was. I could see him as the members of Queen and Rodgers doing nothing more than using his legacy to further their own. I never got the impression that Freddie was a nice guy. Though the fact that Deacon is still staying away out of his love and respect tells me there was something there. Though even from what I always heard from May, Mercury never seemed like he was "friends" with the band. He was a strange cat, that's for sure. The VH1 Behind The Music did allege that he was into the German leather scene in the early 80s. I don't know if that's the deal or what. What amazed me about british rock in the 70s is how much of a business it was - and for the bands still around that it is. Mick Jagger and Keith Richards don't get along or socialize much. You'd never knowing it seeing them prance and mince on stage though.

This is why I heart you Soxygirl. RALLY CHOMSKY!

I think a reconstruction may be in order. Building the team around AJ, Pods (if healthy - he's a freakin sparkplug), Iguchi. We need to find that balance between power and speed that we seemed to have for the first half of the season. If I was smarter, I could tell you who we should have. Pitching is good, Send El Duque back to Cuba and keep B-Mac in that 5th spot. Transition Jenks to a full time closer's role.

Ok then... well. um. *awkward pause* so ummm. how about that local sports team? And that weather... ummm... weathery enough for you?

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 09:35 PM) I think the point he was making more was, they could be a Ralph de Bricassart and unless they totally flaunted it, they probably couldn't be caught. And, to continue my gender based b****ing, why are female chastity belts so much more common? Men seem to be the ones with more problems keeping it in the pants, so why make ladies where the uncomfortable garments more? Again, I'd like to direct you to the wonderful world of the internet... not that I would know or anything... but I'd disagree - at least those that seem to have a current interest in the matter. Again not that I would know or anything....

Just so you know.... the homosexual/pedophile connection seems strong because that is what gets reported in the news. I'm willing to bet that heterosexual molestation is way more common in the priesthood than anyone realizes but it doesn't get reported nearly as often because it's less taboo than homosexual pedophilia. Also, the boy scouts while considering their no gay policy did do some studies on those people most likely to take part in pedophile activities and found that the majority of them were not people who were open and honest enough to admit their homosexuality. In fact the opposite was the case. I don't have the data to back it up, because I'm typing drunk at the moment - but take my word for it, it's there. The other thing that I can tell you honestly is that banning "homosexual" priests like the Vatican will be doing before the end of the year will do nothing to curtail this issue. It just makes the big C catholic tent a little less small C catholic. That's fake reform.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) But there are no chastity belts, and anyone could, if they wanted, lead a chast lifestyle regardless of their occupation. Not to cheapen the debate or anything.... Ummm Tex, search chastity belts on google and see what happens. There are chastity belts. Not that I've been to these sites or have entirely too much time on my hands lately to surf the internet or anything....
