The issue with all throws from the OF is accuracy. Most of the time, the throw is inaccurate regardless of the distance. I don't care if he's in short right field. If that is a little off line he's safe, which is my point.
This is Jared Mitchell part deux. A promising player whose career is derailed by injury before it could even get started. How many teams have had something like this happen to two position players in a decade?
Agreed here. I have more hope for him than I have in a while because of what he did in AAA but those numbers are whack right now. He has to sit while McCann catches because Castillo is hurt. He's probably going back to AAA when Beef returns
There are a lot of people on this site that think that Mitchell would have been a solid MLB player if not for his injury. Shit happens.
I don't disagree with you about Cameron being a 95th percentile outcome, btw. I just would have liked to see what the guy could have done had he not suffered a devastating injury.
We will never know because he got injured in his first Spring training with the team. Mitchell was the 2009 CWS MVP. He was raking that entire college season. His career was over before it even started. He was climbing a wall during Spring training in 2010 and tore a bunch of ligaments in his foot. I believe he would have been that type of player had he not suffered a career altering injury.
To be fair, Jared Mitchell's career was derailed by a devastating foot injury. If he doesn't get injured he's probably a Mike Cameron clone. Not Mike Trout, but still a useful player.
Sure, if I'm wrong I'll eat crow but he looks completely overmatched. I'm willing to be only so patient, but I've seen nothing to give me any sort of hope about him yet.
