The Sox have pushed him up the ranks despite his suckage. I would have not promoted him from A+ until he could hit .270 down there. He'd probably still be at Winston Salem if they did that. I wrote him off in October 2017 and I see nothing to say I'm wrong. When he makes contact, the ball goes far but he rarely makes contact.

I don't know how they ever could have thought he was worthy of a 1st round pick. He has a 30 hit tool on his best day.

Hostetler's comment or that Collins is not a prospect? Either way he sucks and was a waste of a top 10 pick. I take what NH said with a grain of salt but idk if he's being honest or not. I lean towards no, but i'm not 100% sure that he's lying. I haven't thought Collins was a prospect since he hit .229 in Winston Salem. Wouldn't shock me at all if he goes 1-40 like Palka did.

I wish they had Pineda instead of Nova. Same price and Pineda was free.

I don't think that Pineda has had a start this good all year, but he's now 2 years removed from TJS so him being back to his previous levels makes some sense.

I don't even think he can hit well enough at Catcher. Look at Palka vs Collins and it's not even close. He's gonna make Alonso look competent. He's been a non prospect for years.

Collins doesn't have MLB quality bat speed. He's never going to hit at the highest level. I've never thought he was much of a prospect the last two seasons. The rebuttal: But his OPS! That was never going to work at the MLB level. They still need Grandal and if they DFA him tomorrow I wouldn't care.

While true, it isn't like anyone they have at Charlotte other than Cease would be any better. The Sox rotation options all suck. Do you want a guy with a 6.5 ERA or a guy with a 8.5 ERA?
