And that's a Eloy Jimenez Coming Out Party White Sox Winner
It's going to be fun watching Eloy, Moncada and Robert launching baseballs into orbit for the next half decade. (at least) They all have LTP. Maybe Vaughn can join them, but I'd have to see it in pro ball first.

One of the things I was noticing during Moncada's hot streak was that he was making adjustments as well. He's starting to be more selective swinging the bat early in counts. Instead of free swinging, he's only going after meatballs now which is what we wanted him to do all along. Moncada and Eloy are both about to take off into the stratosphere of superstardom.

He'll be 25 in mid-July, but for now you're correct.

I believe so. Will he be Cy Young quality every year? No, but I think you can pencil him in for a 2.50-3.20 ERA, 190 IP and 200+K for the foreseeable future. That is an ace in the AL. At this point, I have all of the faith in the world that Giolito and Kopech are going to be a wonderful 2 headed monster at the top of the rotation.

I have a lot of faith in Kopech to be a stud pitcher, less so with Cease, but having Giolito emerge this year is a huge bonus and takes the pressure off of those two significantly, IMO. Missing out on Manny is a blessing in disguise because Moncada is filling 3B nicely. I'd like him to stay there. They should go get Cole or Strasburg(I believe he will opt out) and call it a day. I'm fairly confident that one of Lopez/Dunning will be a serviceable 5th starter. I feel like worst case Cease will be a #3/4 and you can slot Cole or Strasburg in between Kopech and Giolito.

On March 15th the rebuild looked dead. Now it is not only alive and well, but is looking like a great success.

I believe there is a segment of Sox fans who absolutely love to whine and complain, and are miserable when they're winning because they don't get to b**** about anything and everything. Their entire identity as a Sox fan is to b**** and complain about anything and everything, and when they're good they disappear. Note the gamethreads. When they're getting blasted there is more posting, and when they're winning the gamethread is much shorter.

Been trying to find info about Pilkington from McDaniel/Longenhagen but I can't get the question through the mods.

Was it him? I thought it was Kemp.

He's making 24M AAV, it is just an insanely long contract. I would have been fine with that contract if they frontloaded it heavily for the first 3 seasons, at somewhere around 40M, given that he didn't want an opt out, and then had less money on the back end. As long as the last 5 seasons were in the 10-15M range, I'd have been fine with it.

Harper always starts slow, and I'd take him in RF as well. By the end of the year he's going to be hovering around his usual line: .275/.380/.500

A fair and balanced soliloquy about Jose Abreu, by ron
I wouldn't offer him more than 1 year for $10M, and I wouldn't bring him back after that. Vaughn is going to man 1B for the next decade, so Abreu has become redundant. Eloy and Collins can share DH. I really like 2014-2017 Abreu. 2018-19 Abreu is marginal.

2018-2019 Official NBA thread
It just seemed like every game was more competitive. It was a hell of a lot more entertaining. Have you ever heard the saying: "To be the best, you have to beat the best?" Instead it has become "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em" and that is the cowardly way out. These guys who do this shit are cowards, and they're taking fucking shortcuts to basically guarantee themselves titles. It is bullshit. The Bulls played the Pistons 3x before they beat them. How many times did Stockton and Malone lose conference finals before they finally got there? That kind of shit used to happen all of the time and it was a huge storyline. Shaq didn't go to a team on the way up, or ready to win. I want these guys to want to be the guy. Where the fuck has the alpha-male gene gone with NBA players?

Sox vs Nats - 6/11/19 7:10pm
Yes, that would be nice. I wonder how going back to 2B would affect Moncada though. Maybe it wouldn't matter because he knows he can hit now.

I'm on this train. I agree with the guy above who said that he'd be pissed if they traded him for a C prospect.

Machado isn't struggling. It's the Petco effect. Petco is where hitters go to die.

Slugging % takes HR into account. Total bases/hits.

It's 2019 which makes it more sad. Old timers have had a decade to adjust and they refuse to do so.

I wish people would stop looking at BA and RBI and look at OBP and SLG instead.

Abreu is going to bring jack and shit back in a trade. He's clearly falling off, as the Last 2 seasons are a trend. At this point, I'm going to be surprised if he gets any offers this offseason.

Good job Ricky. It's pathetic we have to give him a pat on the back for knowing the proper time to pull a pitcher.

If Hawk was still broadcasting, how many times would he have said "that ball was kilt" ? They should have a guy with a bagpipe on the screen at the park that says "that ball was kilt"

It's going to be interesting which of the 3 will be the biggest star, because they're all destined for stardom

Don't forget Vaughn. This offense is going to be sick.
