  1. That's fair enough. Been giving the guy shit lately and realized I was probably too harsh.
  2. No I'm talking about his oblique.
  3. Anyone else think Moncada is still injured?
  4. If Anderson thinks it's offensive, that's all that really matters. Fuck Donaldson.
  5. Nobody's buying it, asshole. Should get a lengthly suspension. Zero room for that in the game.
  6. I'm not arguing that isn't reality. The Sox rushed him, and they rushed Vaughn too. Crochet has too special of an arm. They should have given him every opportunity to start.
  7. Yeah, but it's not Crochet's fault that there was a novel virus that ruined his junior year at Tennessee. 2021 was hard on every pitcher. Everyone knew that if Crochet was to be a starter they were going to have to stretch him out in 2021. They failed there, and it should have been done in the minors. Calling him up in 2020 was dumb and remains dumb.
  8. The same people said Sale was a reliever too, you don't know until you try. Sale did eventually get hurt, but he lasted until he was 30. It would have been a crime against baseball to have made Sale a reliever in 2012.
  9. Arguable. We'll never know though. My opinion is that they should have made Crochet prove that he wasn't a starter before moving him to the bullpen. Guys that throw that hard get injured regardless, so IMO that's a bad argument.
  10. No. An underrated issue right now is the Sox blowing their high draft picks during the rebuild years. Vaughn still has time, and they completely screwed up Crochet by pigeonholing him as a reliever.
  11. He really hasn't played a ton of 1B at the pro level so he's relatively unknown there. That's my point. Outside of his half season at A+ in 2019, when has he played 1B consistently? If that was true Fernando Tatis Jr. Wouldn't have been traded for James Shields.
  12. Anyone think they can score 6 runs?
  13. If he doesn't have a position then shouldn't they trade him before the rest of the league finds out?
  14. He's another DH. He has no position.
  15. This is a really important out.
  16. I'm disabled and don't work 40 hrs/week. It's something for me to do without spending money.
  17. Because they shouldn't suck this badly. Eloy has the talent to be very good, and so does Moncada. What is frustrating is how maddingly inconsistent a lot of guys are. Maybe Grandal, Abreu or both turn it around. I mean, it's possible that these guys don't suck but I'm kind of taking 2022 in a vacuum at the moment. I wish I didn't care about sports but for some reason as much as I b**** about it I enjoy baseball and other sports.
  18. Those guys do not suck. Eloy sucks. Grandal and Abreu are old. Moncada is inconsistent as fuck and you don't know what you're getting out of him in a given year. He's either great or sucks, with no in between. neither Eloy nor Moncada can stay healthy and Robert has his problems too. Congrats, you have two MLB hitters that you can count on.
  19. Yeah that was in 60 games. He had a great defensive season.
  20. I don't think it's fair to declare him a 4 WAR 3B. He is incredibly inconsistent. He's had 2 seasons out of 5 where he's exceeded 4 WAR. The rest of his career he topped out at 1.3 WAR. Is that worth $43M over 2 years?
  21. Or maybe we can admit he just sucks, like the rest of this overrated position player core.
  22. 2 years, 42.6 M. The answer is no.
  23. What I said was based on how they're playing so far, they're overperforming their run differential. They're not going to have 6 regulars hovering around a .600 OPS all season. The fact that they're .500 after how bad they've been with offense and relief pitching is GOOD and actually encouraging. They'll get their shit together eventually. The only question will be whether or not it will be too late when they turn it around. There also is the possibility that Abreu/Grandal/Pollock are just old and cooked.
  24. This is the thing: they're not THIS bad.
