VV's run of decent pitching was nice while it lasted. He just sucks I guess.

The return wouldn't be anything more than salary relief even if he is tradeable. I don't think anyone would want to pay him 42.6M over the next two seasons.

I don't even think Moncada is tradeable with his contract. They're stuck with him for the next two seasons. I really thought that 2019 was a breakout season for him, while it turns out it was just a career year. Every other season he's been roughly the same guy. There was this one guy on another board that insisted that Moncada sucked for years. I defended him every time. I should learn my lesson and not get overly attached to players on my favorite team ever.

Those are the guys with the most value. If they're rebuilding, those are the guys that have to be traded. Giolito and Lynn(if he has a good year after his injury) have some value. They're not getting anything for Moncada, Jimenez, Abreu and Grandal.

This season reminds me of 2016. The solution is the same, but it's going to take longer this time. The Sox don't have a Chris Sale, Adam Eaton or Jose Quintana to trade on this go around.

I keep telling myself to not care, but the allure of, "Ooh, how are they going to fuck it up tonight?" is too hard to ignore right now.

This team is like highway accident. You know you should ignore it but you just can't look away.

They're struggling to win a series against Kansas City. There are exactly zero series that are gimmes right now.

I can buy this.

I ask the question: Are they really more talented than KC and Detroit?

Don't worry guys, this season will get canceled by monkey pox anyway. (joking)

This is a bad team guys. We're the 2021 Twins but they've been actually lucky in their wins so far. They should be right there with the Royals and Tigers based on run differential.

Nailed it. Look at the ABs they're taking as a team. TA is the only one who can make this approach work, which is why he's the only one performing well and the rest of the team's numbers are dropping like a rock.

Look at the ABs they're taking. Are you watching the games?

Moncada was fine last year. He has sucked so far this year. It's only 8 games, but I don't like what I'm seeing. This bad hitting is contagious, and now it's infected Moncada, Vaughn and Robert.

Nice job by Gio getting through 5.

5/18 Sox @ Royals | 7:10PM CT
If Robert and Vaughn start slumping, TA will be there all by himself.
-
5/18 Sox @ Royals | 7:10PM CT
He's not doing that this season, just like the rest of the team.
-

You talking about Moncada?
-
5/18 Sox @ Royals | 7:10PM CT
He doesn't because of that contract.

Moncada isn't even walking so far.

If Tony didn't hit and run it would have been a GIDP.

Either the entire offense decided to have a bad year collectively, or they all always sucked/got old.

They should though.
