USA USA USA USA Watched the game at my parents and it was cool to see my dad go crazy. He and my mom was at the Miracle on Ice game in 1980 so he kept talking about that game tonight. He really went crazy on the empty netter. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 19, 2010 -> 02:43 AM) Slovakia/Russia best played game thus far. Epic Demitra style ender. The Norway/Swiss game was entertaining as hell. This Russia/Czech game looks like its gonna have a wild finish. -
Mirko is done IMO. I dont think his heart is in it to compensate his diminishing skills. He was a great fighter but the end is near. Kinda sad to see this wave of great PRIDE fighters getting to the age where they are on the downside of their careers. And unlike in other sports, in MMA when you start to lose it, you lose it fast. Nice win for Bader but I dont see him being much more than a mid-card fighter though. Nothing wrong with that though. Bisping is the perfect gatekeeper for 185. Feed him good opponents and he'll lose. Then give him some easy fights in England so he can still be the pride of Britain. Big win for Cain but it's sad to see the end of Nog. Too many wars in Japan have caught up to him since he's arrived in the UFC. I still think he can win any fight IF it gets to the ground but none of the top heavies will take him down. He still has some fights in him but I just dont see how he can beat the big wrestlers who can trade power punches. I'd love to see a Nog vs Gonzaga fight though. Or give us Mirko vs Nog so we can pretend PRIDE is still alive! I think Cain should fight the winner of Dos Santos/Gonzaga for a title elimination bout. I'd assume the winner of Carwin/Mir gets Lesnar, especially if Mir wins. Just hope Lesnar doesnt have much ring rust for that title bout.

KHP---did you see the thread on the OG where the 4chan crew is harassing the girl who took the video. They got her email, her name, her address, etc.

EBM vs Kimbo at UFN 20! Loser shaves beard. EBM by old man strength in round 2.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Feb 20, 2010 -> 02:45 AM) According to some people at my school, we have a chance to break into the top 20, maybe even top 10 nationally. Then again I go to a D-2 school. There's a lot of talent in D2. When North Florida was ruling D2 back in the late 90s and early 2000s, none of the big 3 Florida schools would play them because losing to a D2 school would look bad. UNF could beat any of those schools on a given day.

We get back one of our best pitchers from 2008(Eric Erickson) after he missed last season due to elbow surgery. Starting pitching should be a strength this year but who knows if we'll improve on our crap offense from 2009. Any type of improvement should make for a pretty decent season.

That sucks about Rothwell. I was set to put some cash on Mirko at -150 odds. I do like Silva at -150 over Bisping. I rarely take a favorite but this time I will.

Well the Swiss has been a decent team the past few years so it was a nice win but nothing to write home about. The first two periods were pretty good but it looked like they fell asleep in the third. That being said, it would still be a major upset if this team medals. Even Canada has come out slow against a crap Norway team. -
QUOTE (hogan873 @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 09:17 AM) I've always been a fan of Big Love, but this season is by far the best. Great new direction, new characters, and issues. I agree. I wasnt impressed with last season but this year has been great. It's my favorite show that's on right now.

112 took a MAJOR hit IMO. Silva-Belfort had me juiced. Still a solid card so far but the MW title fight put it over the top. Now we get to just see BJ roll through another 155'er and see Hughes try to take out another Gracie and Renzo trying to revenge the losses of Royce and Serra.

The Who sucks. Horrible selection.

f*** it, I'm glad Coleman lost just for the fact he told Tito off. Tito is a cocksucker.
-
lol, could I have been more wrong about Coleman? Didnt think he would just be a punching bag. Hopefully this is the last of Coleman. I'd say the same about Couture but everyone knows he'll fight again.
-
QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 11:46 PM) Hopefully you win on Coleman. Do you think he's going to out-power Randy early or catch him good or something? I don't know how he'll be able to handle Randy's conditioning after about 5 minutes in there. I'm rooting for him though. If it were me I'd probably go with a parlay on Marquardt, Maia, and Trigg. I don't even know why Trigg is the underdog in this fight, and Maia and Nate have wins in the bag IMO, they're both absolutely terrible matchups for Miller and Sonnen. Hague could be a great bet though, and betus has him at +160. I could definitely see Thiago winning against Swick by sub or decision, but that fight seems pretty dangerous for Thiago if he stands up for a little while. I still think Swick is a lot better than he showed against Hardy. Ronys Torres could also be a pretty good bet against Guillard. He trains at Nova Uniao with Aldo, Fabiano, Leites, etc., is 14-1, and only 2 of his wins have been decisions with the rest of his wins being finishes on the ground. His one loss is via KO though, but if he can get the fight down to the ground he should be able to finish Melvin. Betus has him at +105. I think Coleman will catch Couture at some point tonight. Randy might have the better stand up from a technical standpoint but he's been getting tagged at some point in every fight he's had since his comeback. Coleman still hits hard and I believe there will be chances for Coleman to connect. Plus Coleman has only been stopped twice in his career, 12 years ago with the Pete Williams KO and Mirko KOing him 5 years ago. I dont really count the Shogun stop since there was 20 seconds left in the fight and the ref shouldve let it go. Coleman is a tough SOB and I dont see Randy KOing Coleman to get the win. Coleman struggles in the cardio area but it seems like he actually trained for this fight at a good camp. He needs this fight for a lot of reasons, including the chance to keep making money to support his family. So Coleman might be a little more desperate for this fight. Another reason I like Coleman is from a body standpoint. Both are old and have Ric Flair man tits but Couture looks skinny IMO. He is skinny from his shoulders to his wrists. Looks very deflated. Coleman might be a little softer in the chest area but he still has the arms of a heavyweight. I'm sure I sound dumb but I think that can play a bigger role than most would expect. I think Couture's only way to victory is to grind out a win by pushing Coleman against the fence. Since I think Coleman is stronger, I dont see that happening. But who knows. And f*** me. As I'm writing this Coleman dropped from 320 to 300! Oh well, +300 is still too good of a value in this matchup IMO.

QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 04:05 PM) I just won UFC tickets from Dana for making fun of him in photoshops, lol. Not that anyone cares, but I have to say I love Dana White. He's so awesome. UFC rules. BTW, taking Randy but rooting for Coleman tomorrow. This is one that could end up being pretty damn exciting despite all the criticism. It may sound like a s***ty main event, but as soon as the fight starts I'll definitely be into it. I care if you take me! haha, congrats. I'll be betting on Coleman tomorrow. I took him at +300 vs Bonnar and cant pass up these odds again. Hoping the odds increase toward the +350 range before pulling the trigger. It's +320 at my book right now. Also taking Thiago too. Right now he's sitting at +190 so I'm waiting for it to creep over 200. Hague at +150 is tempting me but dont know if I will do it though.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 09:06 AM) Kind of funny how willing they are to change something that works so great in March Madness when nobody asked to change it, but they are totally unwilling to change the BCS to a playoff format when people have been screaming about it for years. All about the $$$$$$$$. What sucks is that this will kill the regular season now. Teams in the ACC/Big10/BigEast/etc always aimed for a minimum of .500 to basically be assured a tournament bid. Now teams finishing 7-9 or 8-10 will be getting. Also I bet we see some of the "bubble" teams start scheduling really soft OOC because they wont need those signature OOC wins and the high SOS ranking since their conference will basically give them a top 100 RPI as long as they hover around .500 in conference. This will probably but an end to the NIT. -

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 08:39 AM) Well, the rumor is Mack brown wanted to sign his Loi for fsu, but his dad would not sign it. Now he is a gator. Might be a blessing for FSU. Many believe he is highly overrated and a lot of Florida people were hoping he would leave. -

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 11:31 PM) keep Shontrelle Johnson from Florida State. The Orlando Sentinel said yesterday that Johnson would be signing 2 LOI's today. One to ISU and the other to some JUCO school that is basically a feeder school to Iowa St in case he doesnt qualify academically. Appears he is all yours. Congrats. -

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 06:31 PM) Florida has a great class this year. I'm hoping we pull in C. Jones, C. Green, and C. Lemoiner tomorrow. Getting Ferguson would be good too, but I'm not too confident on that. From everything I've read all 3 of those guys have been Noles for a bit. Jones wanted to look around to be sure and Green has been a silent for a month. -

Sox not adding a LH bat; looking at relief, Damon?

Is it the money or years for Damon? I doubt he'd turn down 6 mil a year if it was 2/$12 contract. -
StrikeForce isnt big enough yet to have 40% of their card filled with new guys fighting bums. And then throw in the women's fight and that makes it 60% crap. One fight on a card is tolerable I guess. When is Roger Gracie going to be used? I guess he's dropping to 205 but lets get him out there already. Atleast the CBS show in April will be good. Fedor-Werdum Henderson-Shields Mousasi-Lawal rumoured.
