  1. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 26, 2009 -> 05:37 PM) I think Japan has it somewhere in their constitution or somewhere that they'll never have nuclear weapons. I think the increased hostility fron NK. will go a long way in changing minds in Japan.
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 26, 2009 -> 05:04 PM) Are we saying Japan has nuclear weapons? Because I didn't think that was the case. I was replying to his "What's the alternative" statement.
  3. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 26, 2009 -> 05:01 PM) What's the alternative? Keep telling them no while we watch them build and test and then eventually obtain a nuke? We've tried economic sanctions, they agreed to stop, but they lied (same response twice now right?) I think strategic missile strikes and ousting Kim Krazy would be sufficient to send the message. I dont think it would be easy, or without a cost, but what's the purpose of obtaining a nuke? To use it right? So whose going to be the victim and is it in our best interest to protect them? And who comes to their aid? I really dont think either China or Russia would stand in the way if Europe, Asia and the US give it the green light. Nuclear Japan.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 26, 2009 -> 02:28 PM) You guys really are obsessed with them aren't you? Sorry. Should not have posted here. My bad.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 26, 2009 -> 01:08 PM) It's not going to be there to stay for long, frankly. Why has ACORN been hired by the pro gay marriage crowd?
  6. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 26, 2009 -> 08:23 AM) Obama to nominate Sonia Sotomayor as his pick, a Hispanic and a woman. Let the games begin. What are the odds of an arbitrary Republican filibuster? Probably less than the Democratic filibuster of Hispanic Judge Miguel Estrada. Mainstream Media= The Republicans dare not filibuster an hispanic woman! Miguel Estrada successfully filibustered by the Dems= MSM SHHHHHHHHHHH!
  7. Touche: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124295250785545573.html Gov. Pawlenty!!
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 26, 2009 -> 08:17 AM) For the past 2 weeks they've been talking like they were in the mood to fight no matter who was nominated. The Republicans have never had the fight that the Dems do or did over Justices.
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 26, 2009 -> 08:23 AM) Obama to nominate Sonia Sotomayor as his pick, a Hispanic and a woman. Let the games begin. What are the odds of an arbitrary Republican filibuster? 0.
  10. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...l?hpid=sec-tech Paging Sandy Berger......Paging Sandy Berger..
  11. http://vote.sos.ca.gov/returns/props/map1A.htm Even Pelosi's county voted against a tax increase. Will wonders never cease. Boy the pro refernda folks spent their 30+ million well, huh. A lot of bang for their buck.
  12. Will the administration also own the increase in traffic deaths due to the new autos?
  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 19, 2009 -> 02:31 PM) 25 right now, 35 in 7 years is 40% in those years. Definitely a hard thing to accomplish, but entirely possible. The downfall of this, of course, is that the cost of manufacturing cars (and price to the consumers) will increase. But so will the price of gas, which will be offset by this legislation. So, you can either pay less for the cars and more for the gas, or vice versa. I'd rather that same money go to high tech work and engineers here, then to the Middle East as oil money. How will the price of gas be offset by this legislation? If gas increases a dollar a gallon on average it will take that much longer to recover the extra cash expended on the purchase of the car. Also people will probably drive more if they feel perceive they are "saving" money, thereby reducing their said savings. Also, I think we need to be skeptical of the $1300 price increase. It will be higher, gov't is never right on estimates for anything.
  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 19, 2009 -> 01:33 PM) I agree with the legislation in principle, but make no mistake, its not a small task. Anything more would be insanely expensive to achieve. The cost increase should try to match the savings on gas, more or less, and from what I have read, that is how the Energy department came up with these values to propose to Obama. Again, one thing Obama is doing well is relying on actual experts, like scientists, to come up with the right policies. Like the experts who predicted the nebulous JOBS SAVED/CREATED scheme?
  15. So how much of our money is Schwarzzy going to take back to Cally with him? 5 billion, 10 billion, or more than 10 billion?
  16. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 17, 2009 -> 01:50 PM) Holy s***, who released those with classification markings on them? An anonymous source, who else.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 14, 2009 -> 12:46 PM) Following the same logic that the Republicans use to say that Tax Cuts pay for themselves, I conclude that increasing the size of government to infinity would result in infinite economic growth. Why don't the Republicans get it?! On the contrary: http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/local/bal...0,6465292.story This doesn't seem to be the answer either.
  18. http://michaelsavage.wnd.com/index.php?fa=...amp;pageId=5938 Five minutes with the fathers of these children would save tax-payers a hell of a lot of money.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 13, 2009 -> 06:46 PM) So the big story of the day is that Obama completely did a 180 and is now NOT going to release all of the torture pics to the public. Interesting. As one blogger says, "all of his promises come with an expiration date, all of them."
  20. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ May 12, 2009 -> 09:02 PM) Unions are great. Everyday when Im driving on lower whacker I get to see someone holding a sign for $40 an hour. Good to see they protect a job a bucket of cement could do. You anti-middle class union basher!!!
  21. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 12, 2009 -> 08:05 AM) lol http://www.wbaltv.com/money/19435100/detail.html The best thing about this story is the agency saying they had to meet a strict mid-June deadline to mail out all checks, and that didn't leave them much time to clean up all their records......THE WOMAN DIED 40 YEARS AGO
  22. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 12, 2009 -> 08:05 AM) lol http://www.wbaltv.com/money/19435100/detail.html What's 2,500,000?
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 8, 2009 -> 10:31 AM) I guess I'm missing the controversy here, as it relates to politics. I understand how its really bad for this subcontractor to have skimped on parts like that, of course. But how is this like Abramoff? PMA lobbying group.
  24. http://thehill.com/the-executive/lawmakers...2009-05-06.html I still say this will be bigger than Abramoff, if it isn't already.
  25. http://spectator.org/blog/2009/05/07/obama...nion-enforcemen The payback never ends does it? Poor school kids, F*** off, public schools are good enough for you. When will the oral sex end with the teachers unions?
