US forces in Iraq capture al Qaeda leader known as the Butcher with 15 insurgents March 9, 2007, 12:11 PM (GMT+02:00) He was seized with a group of six in an early Friday raid in northern town of Mosul. A US military statement said the Butcher was responsible for many kidnappings, beheadings and suicide operations in the Ramadi area of Anbar and in Mosul. Another eight members of an insurgent courier network were rounded up near Karmah, including an “al Qaeda media emir” responsible for propaganda. Two men suspected of helping foreign fighters slip into Iraq were detained in Falluja Some good news comes out, all be it from an Israeli website.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 02:18 PM) Figured out that the Niger yellowcake story was bunk. That is false Why did this investigation start? Why did this investigation continue after Fitz found out who the leaker was? He knew 3 mos. prior to talking to Libby that Libby was not the leaker, so why continue to question people?

More room to count his Google wealth; though that house is still too small.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 27, 2007 -> 08:54 AM) No, I'm not. But at the same time shouldn't the investigation be the message not the messenger? Would you rather follow wrong information from a guy living in a 300 sq foot home heated with all renewable resources or factual information from someone living in an 8,000 square foot home? So, for the sake of discussion, whcih should we follow, your view of his message or his lifestyle? Which places us, you and me, on a better path? Factual info? SHE WAS NOT COVERT PEOPLE. http://www.washtimes.com/metro/20070223-104642-1644r.htm I must have missed this story on all the network newscasts too huh 72. But the media is all over the homo evengelist in Colorado.

http://www.townhall.com/columnists/LorieBy...ting_looks_like Will an investigation follow? Don't hold your breath. The MSM is silent again. What bias? Covert agents being outed by the press is o.k. Only when a supposed covert agent who is actually a manager is supposedly outed by a administration official, is it o.k. to cover it on the front pages of all the lib rags and MSNBC.

"It's not preppies, 'cause I'm a preppie myself. I just don't like homosexuals. If you ask me, they're all homosexuals in the Pudding. Hey, I was glad when that Pudding homosexual got killed in Philadelphia Who said it? Hint: He is running for office in 2008. And I'm sure he'll get the same scrutiny that Macacca Allen received from the MSM.

Interesting point of view (global warming debate)
Cknolls replied to Jenksismyhero's topic in The Filibuster
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 10:27 AM) Without diving into the debate entirely, I am going to respond to this particular falacy. Individual days, weeks, or even seasons, are NOT indicative of climate change in any direction. That's like looking at a baseball team that went 120-42 for the season, randomly choosing one of the 42 losses, and saying "see, that team sucks". Its equally ridiculous when people point it out when its hot, or when its cold. The overall trends, in reality, are crystal clear that warming is occurring. There is no logical debate otherwise. The only questions is how much of that is caused by human influence. My take, and that of the great majority if science, is that its a pretty sizable chunk. Others may think its only a small amount of it. Either way, its important. What time frame is sufficient? One that fits the warming theory? -
2006: Republicans control Congress. Call for a cloture vote in Senate. Dems deny cloture vote. Repubs are accused of limiting debate. 2007: Dems control Congress. Call for a vote for cloture. Repubs deny vote. Repubs are accused of stiffling debate. Defenders of MSM bias have at it.

QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 02:13 PM) You know, after I voted, I was standing there waiting to get my receipt and...nothing. So, where does my vote go? What happens if something goes wrong? Is there a backup? I hope they figure this voting thing out, cuz we've only done it in this country for 230 years!!! Thank all of the dense americans who cannot punch a hole in a piece of cardboard, and then verify that their is indeed a hole there and that the said hole is their corresponding candidate.

"Don't vote for somebody because of what they look like." "I'm feeling lonely in Washington, I need my dear friend to join me." Same person said both. Both statements talking about black candidates. The difference? First statement is Wonderboy telling people not to vote for Michael Steele. The second statement is Wonderboy telling people to vote for Harold Ford. Hypocrisy? Nah. He can do no wrong. OBAMA was the speaker of both quotes.

QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Nov 1, 2006 -> 05:04 PM) John Kerry sucks at politics. I wish he'd go away (I'm a democrat too) He sucks at skiing too. Just ask the secret service. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Nov 1, 2006 -> 08:10 PM) I guess the media isn't as interested in this as the Foley story. CNN reporters actually expresstheir desire that they 'hope the story goes away soon'. http://newsbusters.org/node/8745 http://newsbusters.org/node/8746 Shocking!!

My predictions: Dems win Ohio, Penn., R.I., N.J.. Repubs win Mo., Va., Tenn., Md.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 08:41 PM) Thank you for the information. Its a good thing some of these garbage registrations are being caught. I wonder how often this happens each election cycle, from ACORN and other groups. And further, I wonder what could be done to prevent such fraud? Show Identification. Who wants to bet that the Dems will b**** about long lines at the polling stations in Missouri on Tuesday? Then some a friendly judge will let the polls stay open until 9:00 or 10:00 P.M. so that all dead people and their pets can vote too.

We need more union employees in gov't. -
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 19, 2006 -> 12:02 PM) And of course, actually um, being able to lobby for and vote for legislation that puts a highway exit ramp right by that land and therefore massively increases the value is clearly not nearly as bad as dealing with a local zoning commission over which Reid has zero control. I believe Reid's son serves on the commission.
-
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 11, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) Noe let me be clear... I don't care that Reid did this: BUT... If he had an ® behind his name, he would be front page fodder for the NY Slimes, Washington Compost and the rest of the mainstream media for DAYS. What liberal bias?

FWIW. Here is a story about Woody I came across. Woodward [Michael Ledeen] There doesn't seem to be much interest in Woodward's book here, and for good reason. Anyone who thinks he knows what other people are thinking, especially in situations he didn't witness—which is after all what most all Woodward books are all about—is not to be taken seriously. I haven't read a Woodward book since I reviewed his thing on Casey, which famously contained an account of a sort of conversation he claimed he had with the stroke-stricken director of central intelligence in the hospital. Woodward was scheduled to go on Nightline, and earlier that day Ted Koppel called me and asked what I would ask Woodward. "Ask him to describe the room," I said. "You know, what was Casey wearing? Were there lots of flowers? What color were his pajamas, that sort of thing..." And Koppel did. And Woodward froze, deer-in-the-headlights. Then he said he couldn't discuss it because it would "reveal sources." He couldn't discuss it because he wasn't there. He was the source himself. I'm not going to read this one either

Citgo has a refinery in Lemont. Every gas station within 5 miles of this refinery purchases its gas from them. Shell, Mobil, Gas City, Jewel, Speedway Etc......You will still be buying gas from that ass even if you do not buy Citgo... Both Citgo stations in Lemont are very high with their prices. $2.60 and 2.49 respectively this morning. as opposed to 2.39 at a Shell in Woodridge and 2.35 at a Speedway in Woodridge. Although the Citgo across the street from the refinery is usually fairly competitive.
