Did Rove leave the country????????? David Gregory asserted: "Mr. Bush dodged several questions about Karl Rove eluding prosecution in the CIA leak case." A smart snob like Gregory should know the definition of elude.

Now we learn that Nifong had loads of exculpatory evidence. According to a defense motion filed last week , the stripper-accuser couldn’t get her story straight. Sgt. J. C. Shelton, who responded to Kim “Second Stripper” Roberts’s 911 call, took the stripper-accuser to a mental health facility where she first made the rape claim. At Duke University Medical Center, she changed her mind and decided she hadn’t been raped after all. A few minutes later she told a nurse she’d been raped. The defense contends that contrary to information contained in a probable cause affidavit by Durham Police Investigator Benjamin Himan, the medical exam showed no signs of rape. The stripper-accuser told the examining nurse she hadn’t been choked and that no condoms, fingers or foreign objects were used during the alleged rape. The nurse noted that her arms, legs, head, neck, etc., were normal... To top it off, Roberts told Himan the rape allegations were a “crock” and that she’d been with the accuser the entire time except for a five minute period when she wouldn’t leave the party.

When You Can't Say Something Nice ... You Might Be A Pollster Over at Real Clear Politics, I checked out their aggregation of President Bush's Job Approval polls. You know, how so many people are smirking that it sure doesn't look like President George W. Bush will win a third consecutive term? Anyway, I noticed something. Twelve different polls released Job Approval numbers sometime in May, which ended going on half a month ago. Of those twelve, only three have done a poll in June. Of those three, one shows the same numbers as in May, but the other two are higher in June than in May, one significantly so. That means nine major polls were happy to trumpet the news when they could post low numbers, but have not mentioned them since. Gee, I wonder why that is so?

What will Matthews, Olbermann, and no cluester Shuster talk about for an hour every day. They had all the facts and Shuster was certain an indictment was forthcoming. this is great!!! MSNBC was all over it and now they are all in it....

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 06:25 PM) So, Here's an update on that Truthout.org "Karl Rove to be indicted" article from a month ago. Now the author is saying that the day Fitzgerald met with the Grand Jury, an indictment was returned, but it has remained sealed for a month, with the parties remaining unnamed. He's saying the indictmment is currently read as "Sealed v. Sealed". So, if the original article was taken with a grain of salt, this one should probably be taken with one of those water softener salt blocks. This guy should find a new career.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 01:56 PM) First of all, the headline of the article said "Democrats" not "Democrat". But I guess you'll just accuse me of playing semantics games there when they only have one. Secondly, you're quoting the article, not actually quoting any representative. Yes, that is important. Thirdly, I'd still like to see exactly what Rep. Stark said. There's 1/2 of 1 sentence there, with the interpretation of the rest supplied by the Washington Times. I'm not a big fan of Rep. Stark, but first of all the word "Stunt" in the headline is the whole reason why people noticed that article, and since I don't have the full line that he said, I don't doubt he crossed some sort of line, but I really can't prove it. That seems like an awfully stupid thing to say, and it'd be nice if there was just a little bit of context with it just to prove that he is in fact that stupid. Edit: I should probably add that I have as low of an opinion of the Washington Times as you probably have of the NYT, maybe even lower. Why? Because I've seen them running with completely made-up quotes before, like back in 2004 when they ran with a purported quote from Kerry on Crossfire (on CNN), and when people denied Kerry ever said the quote, the Times responded by saying that transcripts weren't available, when a simple Lexis search turned it up, and yeah, the quote was completely fabricated. Jason Blair?????????

Republican U.S. Rep. Marilyn Musgrave's re-election campaign was already heated, and it just got smelly as well: Her staff accused a Democratic activist Thursday of leaving an envelope full of dog feces at Musgrave's Greeley office. Musgrave spokesman Shaun Kenney said someone stuffed the envelope through the mail slot in the door on May 31 and then sped away in a car. Kenney said most of the preprinted return address was blacked out, but staffers used the nine-digit ZIP code to trace it to Kathleen Ensz, a Weld County Democratic volunteer. Ensz told The Associated Press she left the envelope at Musgrave's office but said it "wasn't in the office doors, it was in the foyer." Asked what she meant by the act, she declined comment. Ensz was charged with criminal use of a noxious substance. She is a professor emeritus at UNC [university of Northern Colorado Ensz began teaching at UNC in 1970 and earned her emeritus status in 2000, said UNC spokeswoman Gloria Reynolds. Since she is no longer on staff, she doesn't face sanctions, Reynolds said. A receptionist at Musgrave's campaign office saw a woman drive up to the office and cram the offending mailer through the outer door's mail slot, according to Musgrave officials. Musgrave staff members also traced the mailer back to Ensz's neighborhood, where they spotted the car she allegedly drove to deliver the mailer and a large German shepherd, said Aaron Johnson, Musgrave's communications director. "It's a large dog, and it apparently makes a big mess," he said. Another very mature Democratic hack doing dirty work.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 05:59 PM) IMO, you missed the key group...the big-business folks, who don't give a rats ass about social conservative causes or about smaller government, but only want to line their pockets and don't care who pays for it. Didn't you mean union bosses?

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 05:59 PM) I think the ACLU is good because they take positions that a normal lawyer or law firm could not take. Yes they take extreme positions, but there are plenty of people out there trying to strip our constitutional freedom every day. One group dedicated to trying to expand constitutional protection's is not really going to hurt. This is precious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 10:37 PM) Yes that is what they are doing in this case. Working for the person who wants to f*** children, their freedom to f*** children has been deprived by our moralistic society. Thank God the ACLU is here to keep their dream alive. Making sure their constitutional protections are there, so one day in a perfect world they will have the ability to make their dreams come true. The ACLU is worthless pile of dogs***. The devil wouldnt even represent this filth in their attempts to f*** kids. Yet they jump up there with smiling faces and bravado. Amen!!!!

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 02:55 PM) Because the guy you cited was clearly right down the middle and totally unbiased, like all Heritage people are. Here's the raw CBO data. Tell me which part they changed. Did I claim the Heritage report was non-partisan????? Didn't think so!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way, the bill the Senate passed is illegal. DOA...Revenue raising legislation cannot originate in the Senate vis-a-vis the collection of back taxes, ergo no Senate bill. But , Frist says the way around this is to attach the bill to a tax bill that already passed the House and then send it committee.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 01:22 PM) Close to zero cost instead of the ridiculous 30 billion per year...interesting...and not from a source with an obvious agenda... I stopped counting at three the number of employees of this non partisan group who previously worked for the AFSCME. (no Agenda there). How about the guy who was Economic Policy Director for Kerry Edwards Campaign?? OOPS!!!! Non-partisan, I forgot... Gimme a break!!!!

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 11:57 AM) I haven't seen anything that would say anything else but... What non-partial studies are you looking at, that contradict any of my claims? Think about it. We have a country of just barely under 300 million people, that costs trillions of dollars a year to run and support. If we look at adding approximately 12 million more people, the vast majority of whom are well below median income, most even below poverty level. The exsisting poor population of the United States uses an inordinate amount of social services as compared to what it pays into the system. As I have documented on numerous occasions, the lower 2 quartiles of the US taxpayers pays a negative tax rate, meaning they don't actually pay a net dime into the federal tax system, in fact they actually profit from our progressive tax system. So the poorest people in the country have a negative net cashflow to the federal government BEFORE they EVER use a single social service. Now if we add millions upon millions of MORE people to these very groups, what other conclusions are there to reach? Common sense alone says it will cost way more. Do you have anything to back up what you are saying??? A great many of them will be making a profit off their taxes after credits such as EIC are factored into their taxes. Exactly. That is why this bill is a piece of doo doo. It is pandering at its highest form. Has anyone seen the study done by Robert Rector? What do you think?
-
Can someone tell me how the gov't is going to collect taxes from illegals when they do not even know who they are or how much they have been paid? And if these jobs are low-paying like everyone says will this amnesty just increase the number of people who do not pay taxes but receive the benefits of citizenship. Net net these people will not pay any taxes after all deductions and EIC are accounted for right????

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 31, 2006 -> 01:37 PM) Just out of curiosity, were the riots in Kabul that hurt 100+ a few days ago front page news in Chicago? They made the A section of the LAT, but as far as I can remember they never moved past the "World news" section. How much time is given to Muslim religious figures saying the same thing about their faith? No. All the front pages of the newspapers were covering the heroes who we honor on Memorial Day.

Daley allegedly staffed Skyway to avoid his own delays

GENO'S SAYS: SPEAK ENGLISH By Michelle Malkin · May 31, 2006 12:01 AM If you know Philadelphia, you know Geno's. Best cheesesteaks in the world. Reader Willie S. sends word via the Philly Inquirer that Joey Vento, the grandson of Italian-born immigrants who owns Geno's, is taking a stand for assimilation and against illegal immigration. The Inquirer does its best to knock down Vento, but his blunt Philly style overrides the paper's wishy-washy open-borders slant: How do you say cheesesteak with in Spanish? Joseph Vento, the owner of Geno's Steaks, doesn't know. And he doesn't care. Just read the laminated signs, festooned with American eagles, at his South Philadelphia cheesesteak emporium: This is America. When Ordering, Speak English. Vento's political statement - from a man whose Italian-born grandparents spoke only broken English - captures the anger and discontent felt by many Americans about illegal immigrants... ...The Ventos rarely left their South Philadelphia neighborhood. Now, in a way, the neighborhood has left the couple's descendants. Geno's sits at Ninth and Passyunk, the hub of Little Italy turned home to thousands of Mexicans. Some try to order a cheesesteak. And it bugs Vento if they can't ask for American cheese, provolone or the classic - Cheez Whiz - without pointing. "If you can't tell me what you want, I can't serve you," he said. "It's up to you. If you can't read, if you can't say the word cheese, how can I communicate with you - and why should I have to bend? "I got a business to run." Vento, who lives in Shamong, put up the signs when the immigration debate seized national headlines six months ago. With Geno's Steaks tattooed on his arm, Vento is used to publicizing things, especially what's on his mind. Speak English signs also poster his Hummer. He has driven through South Philadelphia blaring through the SUV's P.A. system denunciations of neighborhood business owners who hire illegal immigrants. "I say what everybody's thinking but is afraid to say," Vento said. Amen!!!!!
