  1. That's awesome! You will definitely appreciate having AWD. Rear is a pain in the ass in during winter.
  2. Haha had to unfollow that dude when last offseason started.
  3. I still can't believe it's a possibility, but if we can get Adley or Witt I will be bwyond psyched. If they go 1-2 I think we have to go Vaughn unless there is a great underslot opportunity to get a great talent in R2.
  4. He went to St. Joseph High School, which was my rival school growing up. Wish I knew more about him, but I moved from that area 9 years ago. Definitely rooting for the kid.
  5. How much more would it have cost to get AWD instead of rear?
  6. Because we are in the middle of a rebuild. The "stiffs" are here to fill the roster and provide leadership until prospects are ready.
  7. I understand what you're saying, however, it still would have taken a record setting contract to sign either FA, something that 29 other teams weren't willing to do either. It would have been a perfect fit, but I don't necessarily agree that it was a failure of epic proportions. I'm curious what your huge beef with Hahn is. Why are you placing the enormous amount of blame on him instead of KW or Reinsdorf?
  8. Also I listened to the interview and enjoyed it. I'm not going to outraged for months that a team was willing to go 10 years on a player that the Sox opted not to go 10 years on. Would I have liked to get Machado? Yes. I'm not going to lash out on the team and boycott games and being a fan because of it.
  9. HAHA my own little safe place? WTF are you talking about?
  10. THANK YOU!!! So I'm not the only one that feels that way.
  11. That's cool since I never said they shouldn't care about what topics they want to care about. I'm asking when will the retread stop and what's the point?
  12. Your responses to me have been less than respectful so you'll get the same sort of response in return from me. Talk about lack of self awareness.
  13. I agree, the optimism that was shown by the front office wasn't in their best interests. They definitely didn't act like it was a done deal though. I also still think it's an assumption that it was the Sox leaking offer details. Traditionally that is the opposite of how they operate. I don't expect the team to be good this year, but I'm excited to see the progress of some of the young guys that are supposed to be part of the core in a couple years. This is what we all knew we were in for when the rebuild started though.
  14. Sounds like you need a new job homie
  15. Again, you don't have to patronize. I had no problem with the complaining about missing out on Machado for a couple weeks after it happened. At this point I'm just saying what's the point? You don't have to talk to me like a child and say it's making me feel sad. This has nothing to do with injuries to prospects, this has everything to do with the attacks at the front office for failing to sign Machado/Harper. Absolutely the point of this board is to talk about what the team is doing, I don't need a positive spin. But when something has been beat to death, why keep beating it?
  16. I appreciate the respectful response. You are correct and I'm not saying people shouldn't be able to be upset. I do, however, feel like it's a little irrational at this point. When the season ended, absolutely no one thought the Sox would be a finalist for either of the big FA's. They ultimately didn't sign either of them and all the sudden the Whte Sox world melted down. I wanted Manny as much as the next guy, but when you put it in perspective I think you can move on and continue the rebuild. I think it is still possible for the Sox to sign premium talent. Do I think they will ever sign a 10 year contract? No. But I think they are fully capable of signing any of the contracts that the Cubs have signed up to this point.
  17. You can be sarcastic all you want man. I used to love this board and really respected the opinions of a lot of posters. Now I come on and read the same redundant posts over and over. Why be a fan if you think the owner sucks, the front office sucks, the team sucks, and the prospects suck?
  18. When you say "do you think most of us pictured this shit?" are you referring to the Sox missing out on, at the time, a record setting contract? That's literally the only thing that has happened this offseason. It's called a rebuild that the team is 2-3 years into. Yes the team sucks, but I'm still looking forward to 2 years from now when a lot of these prospects will be on the team.
  19. That seems to be the common theme that you either have to b**** every minute of the day or you have to be kissing the organizations ass, right? How about this, I was pissed, and now I want to enjoy the start of the season, which this site is making it impossible to do. You have me laughing pretty hard at the fact that you think you complaining on a message board is going to make a single difference to the organization. What happened happened. Either deal with it or don't but how you react isn't changing anything.
  20. My fellow Sox fans that won't let it go that we didn't sign Machado or Harper make me cringe. If you can't let it go, then go be a fan of another team. Enough already. If this entire season is going to be SoxTalk b****ing about that and thinking the front office and organization suck then I guess see ya later SoxTalk. Ya'll are depressing as can be. Get over it or move on to whatever team you want to follow next.
  21. I like it. If the finger is back to normal then he should still be a productive pitcher. 2017 was an all-star season for him.
  22. That's fine. What I'm saying is this has nothing to do with that.
  23. For those blaming Hahn and saying he needs to be fired, you should be placing your blame elsewhere. All Hahn can do is work the best with what he is allowed to spend. This shows that Reinsdorf was never going to sign off on a $300 million contract. He's the cheap ass and the reason this team won't spend money.
