He's also misdirecting the issue: Fans aren't upset with him because he's not repeating 2005... they're upset because he's been awful this year. What he's doing now has nothing to do with the WS or his 2005 stats and for him to even bring it up is just flat-out asinine. What's "dumb" to me is him being sick of answering questions when he has $29 million in the bank. You don't like it, Jon? I'll gladly switch places with you. Jon needs to put up or shut up. If he can't handle answering questions or the way that the fans treat him when he's pitching poorly, he needs to find a new line of work.

I like Jon as a person and hope that he gets through this, but he needs to STFU about fan reaction. Even if it's justified, don't say ANYTHING nevative at all about the fans to the press. That might have to do with the fact that (1) Anderson's a rookie, (2) he's an excellent CF, and (3) he doesn't whine about the fans booing him when he doesn't execute.
