  1. I think Jordan is sophomore eligible this year.
  2. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 04:19 PM) The thing about that argument is that those teams were not expected to nor did they/will they really compete for making the playoffs and beyond. That's the difference. My point was that just because you suck your rookie year doesn't mean you will suck your whole career.
  3. Most people forget that BA was rated the #2 White Sox prospect(behind Jenks who shouldn't have counted) and the #51 prospect in baseball last year. He wasn't handled right last year either. Just because he has a bad season playing twice a week doesn't mean he is a bust. Alex Gordon is hitting around .100 right now and Jeremy Bonderman lost 19 games his rookie year.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 15, 2007 -> 07:37 PM) say what? The guy has been nails for us so far. His stuff is fantastic. I said his stuff hasn't been as good, and he hasn't been "nails" for us. 4.66 9.2 IP 10 H 4 BB 6 Ks-These aren't great numbers
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 15, 2007 -> 02:54 PM) I have more confidence he'll regain his velocity than I did with Koch when similar things were being said. I really have to question the strength/condition program these guys are on, as they all have velocity issuues when season begins. I know a lot of guys have that issue, but it seems like more than half of our guys deal with that. Yep Masset's stuff hasn't been as good as advertised as well
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 09:50 PM) Ok so Ozzie is saying that Anderson's lack of production last season killed any chance of him starting for the team in 2007 correct? Then why did he spend all of Spring Training saying if Brian produces in March, the CF job is his? That if he continued to show he can hit during the Spring that there would be a starting job for him on the big club? This is just further proof that any outfield competition during Spring Training was purely fictional. Ozzie's whole managerial career has been built off saying one thing and doing the other.
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 11:22 PM) BA was the #37 prospect in all of baseball in 05. I just think that Sox prospects take a little longer to work out the kinks, or something. More of the fact that prospects can't be expected to be all-stars their rookie year, and they will struggle. Alex Gordon will probably be a much better player when its all said and done and he's hitting .091 right now.
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 03:23 PM) An observation about Erstad: He just ain't a good hitter. And hasn't been for quite some time.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 03:24 PM) Who will be the youngster next year that Ozzie doesn't give a fare chance to? My guess is Fields. I'll take Sweeney
  10. I just threw up all over myself Though It doesn't suprise me that Ozzie said that
  11. QUOTE(HeGone33 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 03:03 PM) Yea, everything today is Erstads fault cause he didn't get a hit in the last AB. Everyone else did so well, especially 1st and 3rd with nobody out. Of course he wasn't the only one to blame. It just gets on my nerves because myself and most of the other people on this board didn't think he should have started(either him or Pods should be on the bench IMO), let alone hit in the 2 hole. So far he is proving our point.
  12. Our offense sucks right now. Hopefully Grinderstad isnt long for the two hole, as this entire board knew that was a mistake before the season. Good outing by Danks.
  13. What's funny is Mike North says stuff like this all the time. It's just too bad he hasn't been fired yet.
  14. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 09:13 PM) Johan has some serious, serious competition for the Cy Young this year. Don't think Felix will get enough support to win it. Plus the fact that the M's will still baby him somewhat.
  15. Derek Jeter Curt Schilling Michael Barrett Jason Giambi Carlos Zambrano
  16. This would be awesome. It would be an extra home game for us plus I will be at at least one of them.
  17. Another quality start for our starters. Our offense will get going too.
  18. QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 03:57 PM) I just think based on how he looks now and last year, that it's a pretty big assumption that he'll hit 270. I could be wrong, but that's just what my eyes tell me. I think he would hit between .250 and .270, maybe close to .250 with about 10-15 home runs. He has no business being in the #2 hole though.
  19. QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 03:54 PM) Based on his current approach and past results, yes. Based on his rookie year when he wasn't handled correctly? You can't just look at a guys rookie year, look what Alex Gordon is doing right now.
