QUOTE(SoxAce @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 03:34 PM) BUT, he did it with style like PIMP Willie. It was a good at-bat though. He's one of the few bright prospects we got left here.. EDIT: BTW, anyone like Jenks growing out his hair? Seems coo to me but if he pitches terrible... CUT IT!! Bizarro Sampson?

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 02:44 PM) Is he talking about how cold it is in Arizona. Lefties are the devil you know. I will take that AZ "cold" any time during a Chicago winter.

QUOTE(Pants Rowland @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 02:35 PM) TX appears to have scored 4 runs against Lowry and SF in the first inning. All with no hits? Seems fishy. It appears Lowry walked the first 6 batters, got a sac/fc to score the third run, another walk, another sac/fc for the fourth run, another walk to reload the bases, and then retired the leadoff batter Kinsler. Four runs, no hits no errors. I know spring is no good indicator of pitching sometimes, but a walk is a walk. Lowry for Crede? No thanks!

QUOTE(BFirebird @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 02:22 PM) I wouldn't be opposed to any of them being showed off for a trade. I really wish we could resign Crede, but that isn't going to happen. The Giants have been horrible on defense so far this Spring, notably on the left side of the diamond. I saw them play the Scrubs yesterday a little bit and just awful defense. They actually mentioned the Giants possibly looking at Crede in the Cub broadcast. It surprised me. They must be frequenting Soxtalk.

That's a White Sox winner! 12-8 Another nice game overall for several guys competing for a spot. Ramirez may have played the whole game at SS and sounded like he did a nice job. Anderson performed well again at the plate. Crede with a dinger.

Oneli Perez in for the ninth.

QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 1, 2008 -> 04:57 PM) Dewon Day maybe? Beat me to it.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Mar 1, 2008 -> 04:56 PM) who's coming out to give up 5 in the 9th? D-Day?
-
Stan/Bernie Getz with a 2-out 2RBI single. 12-8 White Sox. Getz now steals second base.
-
Anderson scores from first on 2 out double by Armstrong(?). 10-8 Sox.
-
2-Run 3B by Bonifacio makes it 9-8 Sox. D-Backs still batting.
-
9-6 Sox; 2-Run Single by Liefer. Going into bottom of 8th.
-
7-6 Sox. RBI by Bourgeois.

QUOTE(wsgdf_2 @ Mar 1, 2008 -> 04:13 PM) They've got it wrong. I'm listening to the game. That is correct. Wasserman settled down for a nice inning in the 7th. Still tied at 6 going into the 8th.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Mar 1, 2008 -> 04:03 PM) Boone lost his place in the STHOF by giving up 4 runs. Konerko with a 2-Run 2B. Tied at 6

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Feb 29, 2008 -> 04:35 PM) I'm not saying they should have necessarily seen it before the season as the fact that they kept throwing those guys out to get beat up when it was apparent that they had nothing left to offer. Billy Koch is another example. My guess is most teams can be accused of the same crime when it comes to relief pitchers. They are typically up and down from year to year. Only the Twins come to mind when it comes to a team that consistently has a solid bullpen and that seems to have far more to do with their emphasis on throwing strikes consistently than the quality of the pitcher. I rarely see any player leave their organization and perform better or as well as when they were in MN. Ortiz is the only guy I can think of that excelled out of the Twin cities. Knoblauch was so so, Hawkins sucked real bad. Jury is out on Hunter and Santana.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 29, 2008 -> 08:00 AM) A TON of people do it. I do it, same route that knighni mentioned (blue to red). And even though after the game its a crowded, drunken mess, its still way easier than driving and parking (not to mention cheaper). You can also avoid the crowds a bit by walking a couple blocks east to the Green line. I learned the Green Line trick a few years ago when I moved to Oak Park. The crowds are practically non-existant walking along the south side of 35th to the Green Line stop by De La Salle H.S. In the summer the walk home from the stop in Oak Park is really nice and a great way to work off the extra kosher and beer.

Definitely better than the preacher's dream to start last season's debacle. Thanks.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 11:23 PM) The pitching was the key to the Sox winning it all. That, and a s***load of luck and everyone playing well. I do not know if he is "great" but he is definitely a gamer. Without his performance in the 2005 postseason, I am not sure the Sox win it all. You can say that about a lot of individual plays, and maybe about Uribe's defense, but Crede's defense was impeccable and his offense was timely throughout the postseason. The starters were outstanding, but the defense helped that quite a bit as well.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Feb 28, 2008 -> 11:50 AM) I think our lack of focus cost us the playoffs in the last half of 2006 and could have been the difference in 2007. I hope we see the intensity we deserve to see from the White Sox, no matter how poorly talented you think they might be. If we see the 2007 model of Ozzie "I Give Up" Guillen managing at any point this year, I think we need to find a new manager sooner than later. Lack of quality relievers and outfield defense did not help at all in 2006.

QUOTE(forrestg @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 11:56 PM) Imagine waiting over 100 years for a world series and then win it the series at the cell. I also see the possiblility of the cell drawing 3 to 4 million in a single year. I am not saying I care, but what if they played there one year and their fan base followed them in the same fashion they do now, setting a single season attendance record for the Cell that could not be broken unless the Sox sold out every game plus SRO. You know that is far more likely than them winning the WS at the Cell or the even more remote chance of an all Chicago WS on the south side. I'd like to see someone calculate the odds of that happening.
