And that's a 7-0, 3 in a row winner
Your posting really has gotten insufferable. You are extremely knowledgeable and clearly have good insider intel. I also actually don't disagree with a lot of what you say, but do you really have to say it ALL THE TIME? You're becoming an SNL caricature like Debbie Downer with your constant Eeyore posts. Like I alluded, I generally like you, but please lighten up a bit.

Playoffs?!
Several weeks ago I declared 56 wins to be my White Sox over/under total for this season. I still stand by that and would bet the over, based on what I have seen to date. I have minimal comfort beyond 56.

Forget it, he's rolling.- The Case to Eliminate Two Strike Foul Balls
Your point about the difficulty of hitting is valid, but if a hitter wants to take a walk, I suspect there will be the opportunity to earn it by not swinging. There could be a benefit to not always rewarding a hitter for constantly spoiling off pitches close to the zone until the pitcher is worn out and gives in.- The Case to Eliminate Two Strike Foul Balls
There is definitely an argument to be made for capping the number of pitches per at bat not only for pitcher's health but also to keep the game moving. Right now, the maximum not counting fouls is 6. I think a max of 8-10 could be reasonable. I suspect the history of balls and strikes were to give a hitter a reasonable chance to put a ball in play. The pitcher needs to throw it within a zone that gives hitters that chance. If they just keep spoiling off good pitches, though, it seems to defeat that rationale.- Pete Rose Dead at 83
OK, how in the heck is this news not reported on mlb.com yet? I mean I know he was banned, but I think this is even bigger than the Mets-Braves DH IMHO.- 5/6: Sox @ Rays 5:50 CDT: Clevinger day?

I don't disagree with the assessment and suspect 2024 will prove to be one of the worst all time Sox season records. However, I actually enjoyed watching last night's game.- Cease To Padres per Passan

I think we have the makings of a soxtalk meet-up theme at the ol' ballgame next year. Can we also tie an onion to our belts?- Fegan writes "coaching changes..."
I understand why no one has any confidence in anything this organization does, but if what Lip says is true and they entirely dismiss many of these "White Sox Way" lifers in the next few weeks, I doubt it is just to appease the fans. Coupled with the departure of Hahn/Williams, it could be the most major overhaul in the history of this ownership. I am not saying Getz is the solution or that they will do a good job picking the next staff, but I am not sure it can get much worse. So, I can live with Grifol another season if they bring in talented coaches and evaluators from outside the dysfunctional White Sox family. Grifol's work at the ML level is the least concern with the number of other problems the org has from the ground up.- Getz goes into detail...
What is interesting is I have heard the Sox are not the only team like this. They may take it to the lowest low, but in general, players are responsible for a lot of their own development in many organizations. Mentoring is really hit or miss depending on the MiLB level and primary position.- KW/Hahn - They Gone
Congrats, You did it!- I think I've fallen in love with the Cincinnati Reds
This echoes a notion I have had in the past few years of lousy White Sox baseball. In this era where we have technology that allows us to watch any team we want, is the bandwagon approach actually the smart play? We've been shamed to think it is a poor approach to fandom, but why? Rarely are White Sox players from the area, so it's not as if you're cheering for the hometown boys. Further, while the ballpark experience is fun, it is grossly overpriced and there are cheaper summer alternatives like local minor league baseball, among others. So, why let a lousy franchise with a consistently mediocre product make us miserable while we watch a game we supposedly love, all while pouring hard earned $$$ into that franchise? If you really just love fun quality baseball, it makes more sense to invest in the MLB package and follow the young up and coming exciting teams. Then go to a Chicago Dogs game when you want a fun outing to the ballpark. The White Sox are just not worth my time, $, and emotions.- And That's a White Sox Sweep !!
