Final month of the regular season. Feeling a laugher for the Good Guys tonight.

I think we'll wake up with a smile on our face when September ends. Go take this division!

Tyler Gilbert. He gone.

Tommy Pham will be leading the team in this song every day...

ASSHOES tried to gift us the game yesterday and we have a seemingly favorable matchup on paper going into tonight’s game.

GO SOX!!! GO BLUE JAYS!!!!

Really would like to get back on the good vibe train and keep the wins piling up!

Happy Tommy Pham Day everybody!!

Give me a mother fucking Grand Pham tonight.

Every time we think this is it for our guys they somehow rise to the occasion and come up with a modest winning streak or win a couple of series in a row.

25 games left, let's take this division!

YEAH BUDDY

Hit the local strip bar and/or engage in fisticuffs?

Would take 13-12/12-13 with this pitching staff.

But should be over .500 with the easy (seemingly) remaining schedule.

We say easy but to me next 3 games are not easy. We play Pittsburgh with Skennes, ashcraft, chandler, jones pitching........... We still have 3 versus Cleveland, The Royals are playing the best ball out of anyone.

So I agree that 15-10 maybe difficult but I will take 13-12 and hope Cleveland is only a couple of games over .500 during that stretch.

Davis martin being anywhere close to Davis Martin of the 1st half is a huge aspect it the sox are going to win.

I'm feeling a black out game 163 against the guards.

Im still enraged over the ump last night. Might sit this one out. Go sox.

I agree. Has anything come of that, of a major league umpire calling a foul ball, an obvious strike, of him calling it a ball and later insisting it remain a ball?

Has the league commented? What did Venable have to say post game?

Left out a word.

Literally didn’t see a single quote about it

I really, really, really would like to see the return of good/ dominant Sean Burke tonight. If he could get that form back, and keep it, it would all but assure the Sox winning the division.

I don't have the quotes on hand but Venable discussed it for a minute in the post-game interview. Gave his perspective of it, basically that he heard the ump give the count and that was inconsistent with the dugout's count. He goes to ask about it, it becomes clear that the foul ball was called a ball, they tell him there's nothing that can be done about it. He referred to it as a "blown call" several times

He obviously screwed up the call, but I don’t think he “insisted” it remain a ball. There’s no way he can go back and change it once other pitches have been thrown. Pitch selection and a batter’s swing decisions are affected by the count, so I would assume once another pitch is thrown, you can’t go back and change it. Im assuming that’s why Venable didn’t argue more. There was literally nothing that could be done at that point.

Yeah they can only "fix" the count if the recorded count conflicts with the umpire's calls. So if the ump called 2 balls and 2 strikes but says the count is 3-1, you can fix that. But if the umpire called a foul ball a ball, there's no fix. Even if everyone thought he called it foul.

He didn’t signal foul after it happened
