QUOTE(mr_genius @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 05:21 PM) haha, you do realize that the immigration bill McCain was for is a WAY harsher than Reagan's amnesty of illegals right? I thought Reagan was the true conservative all Republicans should aspire to be? So you want basically want a president that refuses to work with the Democrats, on everything. . And who do you support, may I ask. Most of your posts look like this "f*** s*** idiot, a@# f***, pee pee poo, c***. " bla bla bla. I know you think everyone is a 'pube' or a 'f*** a** c***' but besides that you give little information. shut it man! that's like opening up the ark of the covenant without raybans on!

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 04:39 PM) Exactly. The cynic in me sees a marketing ploy to get people into the games and profits for the companies doing these tributes. Let's buy a support our troops magnet and support the 9 year old kid in China that makes them. you guys are just un-american go vote for Hillary...hippies.... -
QUOTE(iamshack @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 05:08 PM) Sure, but then again, I wasn't the one accusing you of anything, was I? See how passionate people get about this? And for what? to learn. or at least to pass the time.

Let me stop you right there. This is the problem. You will never hear me or anyone that I go to church with (unless they're as uninformed about the truth as many people are) that if you don't participate in my religion you will go to Hell. Do I believe in a place called "Hell"? Yes. This is a place designated for Satan and other fallen Angels. It was never originally intended for us... And we could have a 100 page thread about all of that. The biggest problem for me is when people claim to "know" what the afterlife is like, etc. Hell, as far as I understand and have read, is not about flames and punishment as much as it is about the absence of God and Christ. Much worse in my opinion. anywho...I'm tracking with you and sincerely hope we can keep this convo cool. please don't try to condescend me with my online name. again, as it turns out, I was not concise in my previous post. I would place you in the Sunday school class experience of religion. Most people including myself at a point in my life, only see religion from the very lifeless perspective that Modern Western Christianity holds for people sometimes. What is religion if we have so much? What need do we have if we can instantly gratify ourselves visually, physically, etc? Especially when you put that up against a backdrop that most people think Chrisitanity is all about "rules". If that's the "truth" then of course I get why people walk away. But it's not. and I'll stop preaching, unless prompted. I do believe that people go years without seeing the truth and understanding it. This is another 100 page thread, but to sum it up. If you don't believe, you probably haven't seen the real thing, i.e., people have let down your view of the truth. why stop at religious institutions? Stalin was as bad ass as they come...and 40 million people lost their lives to the anti-religion of Communism...at least. People are the problem. We're all rotten down the core when we sum it all up. Again, it's all about choice, and if you weren't given a chance to make a choice, then it's not Christianity. So I totally agree. I just think you're generalizing ALL true believers into the category of ALL Christians into the category of ALL religious people. agreed.

haha, and in turn, see how quickly you jumped on me for my one sentence.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 04:51 PM) So now a seller has no way of determining if the buyer is a dead beat. If I have a 1000 rating, they can trust me. If they have 5 or lower or a history of negative feedback, why would the seller want to deal with them? DING!
-
The Seller, can't give negative feedback... and they're getting rid of it. Hence the "Ebay getting rid of seller negative feedback". I see where the mistake was made. I'm still really not happy with this. I had someone leave me negative feedback when he wasn't happy with the item I sold him, despite CLEARLY describing it. So he paid and I shipped. He was just unrealistic. Perhaps I'm in the minority with my story, but this decision is a poor one and I won't be selling on ebay ever again...and that, the last time I checked, was how ebay made their money...NOT on people buying. bad decision Ebay.

I don't see how these can be reusable. Once you take them off, how are you going to find them? -
Ebay getting rid of Seller Negative feedback yet, they're going to keep buyer negative feedback. LAME. I wonder if yahoo auctions is any good. They just got my business.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 04:19 PM) i was watching CNN ( i think it was CNN) yesterday and they had a group of Obama voters in a focus group and they asked if anyone could name any of Obama's major accomplishments. no one said anything. it was kind of funny. then some lady was like "he's just so well spoken". HAHAHA...that's what it comes to... GWB spoke so poorly that the first guy that comes along and is "so well spoken" we just have to vote for him. nice.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 03:48 PM) The only candidate in either party that isn't a proven phony is Obama, and that's because he hasn't been around long enough. Like you said though, at least McCain admits he's a phony , but really, ALL politicians are phonies, it's why so many people hate them. he seems like he's got convictions and convictions enough to follow through with them in the face of his own party at times. Of course he gained political capital with the left, but hey...a guy that works both sides and comes out looking smart and more popular than before is someone I can vote for. I'm not voting for "guy I'd like to babysit my kids"... I'm voting for "guy who has enough political know-how and smarm to out duel the other political BSers out there." I don't think Obama or the rest of the crowd can occomplish that like McCain can.
-
QUOTE(iamshack @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 03:38 PM) That is very rarely the case, unfortunately... really? can you even pick up the brush that you just used to paint that generalization?
-
McCain-Huckabee....the best of both worlds if you ask me. Fiscal Conservative and a Social Conservative. This ain't no Dole-Kemp team. make it happen and you have the perfect team to beat the dem candidate, imo. i would still consider obama, but we'll see.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 02:55 PM) FWIW, Romney had a lead on the first ballot but not a majority, and on the 2nd ballot, the McCain folks all threw their votes to Huckabee to prevent a Romney win. that's way too smart for W. VA.

QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 01:38 PM) If you have extra time between classes/trains i'd go to Standing Room Only on Dearborn, they're known for their turkey burgers but i'm a fan of the italian beef. That's what she said... I couldn't resist.

I just had a great sandwhich from a local deli last night. The Black Jack 2 slices of pumpernickel roasted turkey slices avacado tomato lettuce bar-b-que sauce american cheese very, very good.

We are rotating Tae Bo Dvds...they're great 40 minute work outs. I'm focusing on portion control and snacking. My biggest frustration is that I skip meals from time to time and create a "dying for food" feeling. There's actually a physical demand that your body puts you through...the reaction creates a desire for the lowest common denomenator with food. So you'll choose a tasty cake over waiting 5 minutes to make a sandwhich. My wife's a Registered Dietician, so she schools me every day.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 2, 2008 -> 02:19 PM) One little note...Rudy 9iu11ani seems to have actually run the worst campaign in history...in terms of dollars spent per delegate. Rudy spent about $50 million and won 1 delegate. The worst before that was $11 million for a delegate in 1980. Between him and Fred T, I don't know what the hell they were doing. These guys need to do some Viagra commercials next...talk about impotent campaigns.
