A man recently put his girlfriend's baby in a freezer to get rid of its fever. f***ed up world.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Nov 28, 2006 -> 12:52 PM) Yeah, but he's an asshole, and a steroid freak. We don't need his BS on our team. f*** how well he is playing. SoxBadger doesn't believe that there is any credible evidence linking Bonds to steroids (at least, he's always defended him against the allegations). f*** Barry Bonds. I agree.

Sox & Angels Talking; Crede/Garcia for Santana/Figgins

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 28, 2006 -> 08:28 AM) Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not but he has indeed become quite overrated. I've been calling Garland overrated for a long time, and I certainly mean it. -

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 28, 2006 -> 08:58 AM) Unfortunately, or fortunately, EVERYONE should be involved in rebuilding people's lives. We can argue about who dropped the ball during and right at the hurricane, but the longer we stall on helping these people, the more damage done. My parents did their part...they took in a stray doggie! I'm just not of the opinion that the feds should be involved anymore at this point. -

QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Nov 27, 2006 -> 11:03 PM) After reviewing the platforms several times, I am suprised at the many places I agree in part or whole with the lot of you. Especially Rex. However, in the areas I disagree, there is a wide gap. And I disagree with the whole group of you on rebuilding NO. Not going to get into thathere, justI don't think the government should be doing it. At the moment I am torm between Tex and Northside. If I can come up with something to differentiate between you two for me, I'llbe sure to let you know. If only our real elections were this 'clean', eh? You don't think any government should be rebuilding NO? Not even NO's and LA's?! I'm of the opinion that the feds should butt out -- and I wrote that -- but, no one should be rebuilding NO but private contractors or something? -
Yeah, I'm with everyone who takes the airline's side on this.

I really like the thought of Gload in left either hitting second or leading off.

QUOTE(Craig Grebeck @ Nov 28, 2006 -> 06:50 AM) Juding a pitcher by wins? Come on. I agree. Jon Garland is awfully overrated. -
He wasn't eligible for rookie of the year last year, if I recall correctly.
-
I dunno. Maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention during ESPN to the baseball season, but it seems like he doesn't get enough.
-
Dude was a weak hitter, overall, but for the homeruns, and he's an HOFer? Dude only excels in one phase of the game, through questionable methods, and he belongs in the Hall? Why doesn't Tim Raines belong, a man so so great at stealing bases but not THAT great at something else? I don't think McGwire is a first-ballot HOFer when you factor in the suspicions.

QUOTE(ptatc @ Nov 27, 2006 -> 10:30 PM) I'm a physical therapy and athletic trainer. I've worked in just about every sport imaginable but baseball particularly pitching is still my favorite. PMs are about to come your way.
-
Yeah, I just took a look. It looks fantastic.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Nov 27, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) Too bad the White Sox weren't as prudent as the Angels and not allowed Freddy to pitch in the WBC. That seems to be what they are blaming his lost velocity on. Will the fastball come back? That is the $40 million question. Well, Freddy's lost velocity also has to do with the weight he put on, the fact that he'd thrown about 500 innings in the last two years, and the lack of proper conditioning given the lack of 2005-06 offseason. Will his velocity return? I think so. But it's one helluva gamble. -
QUOTE(ptatc @ Nov 27, 2006 -> 10:18 PM) the Jobe exercises are good but the Thrower's 10 program developed by Wilk and Andrews is more effective at strengthening the shoulder and elbow. I take it you're a physical therapist and a personal trainer? Or, one, neither? Mmhmm, actually, I'm doing that, too! That's cool, but it IS hard to do because the knee gives out on me sometimes while I do it.
-
QUOTE(ptatc @ Nov 27, 2006 -> 10:12 PM) When did you injure the knee? The creak you are referring to usually comes from the patella. What ype of program are using to rehab the patella-femoral joint? I have a great group of exercises I use for my patients if you need them. Good Luck with the rehab Injured the knee in September. I've been doing a ton of lateral exercises and using rubber to stretch. I don't know what the program is called but I go downtown for it.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Nov 27, 2006 -> 09:59 PM) i'm not goint to get into a "who's better argument" between Garland and Count. Well, good, because Contreras has undeniably better stuff and, IMO, a better track record. Shame he's so old otherwise it be no-contest. f***ing Fidel Castro and his hostage-holding of Cuban ballplayers. I read somewhere, in a newspaper, that Contreras worked with Freddy on his splitter. -
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Nov 27, 2006 -> 09:58 PM) 1st off, I didn't play soccer because of work. But my arm has healed well over the off-season. I've been getting some hitting and pitching drills in lately and I've been doing some serious conditioning. I've been light on the weight-lifting/strength training though. For now, I'm trying to stick to regaining full range of motion in my legs and arms. I know. Glad things are going well for you.

SoxTalk Election Endorsement Thread
Gregory Pratt replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in The Filibuster
Thank you, Slavko. However, I highly suggest that my supporters not endorse me publicly. I know quite a few of you and I have discussed the matter, but I don't believe in public endorsements. Should've said it earlier. I just prefer my support to be secret. "I want to be invisible. I do guerrilla warfare. I paint my face and travel at night. You don't know it's over until you're in a body bag." -
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Nov 27, 2006 -> 09:52 PM) And I didn't think it was possible, but when my elbow isn't crappy, my curve is even more amazing. I remember that. I also remember you commenting about the filthy late break on my two-seamer. I also remember me making you look foolish. Not that your CLOWNFACE didn't help with that. Really, though -- your arm holding up well? You excited 'bout the next season? you aren't going to QUIT like you did in SOCCAR right?
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Nov 27, 2006 -> 09:49 PM) I like that. "Late breaking" That means it doesn't travel fast enough to reach home plate. (Actually, I've added several MPH to my stuff.) (But shut up. I have a filthy two seamer.)
-
He wasn't a good hitter. Hit for power, but that's about it. Screw Mark McGwire.
-
Throw a few more groundballs. They're democratic. I'll strike you out with my late breaking two-seamer, foob. PS: I'll email you re: going out. On a pitching date. A playdate!

I'm taking the Ralph Reed approach.
