Omg, this thread is the best thread I have ever read on Soxtalk. Gordon Beckam is amazing! But he's no where near as good as Gordon Beckham. BECKHAM FOR LIFE!

Sox versus Yankees August 2, 2009 game thread
TitoMB345 replied to southsider2k5's topic in 2009 Season in Review
QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 02:31 PM) Mark gets some retroactive applause In a month: Do we have two 1s and 3 2s, 1 1 and 4 2s? Or 5 2s? To me, all of those are perfectly acceptable. But my vote goes for 1 Ace, 3 2's, and a 4 Peavy's the ACE, Danks, Floyd, and Buehrle are the 2's, and Contreras is a 4. But we will see. -

Buehrle had nothing today, but its good that we aren't that far out of it. I expect to get Mark a ND at the least. -

Fantastic trade. I didn't see this coming at all. I can't WAIT for next year! -
I was at the game last night, and the park was pretty empty. They claimed there was like 31K there though.
-
That looked really bad. I wouldn't be surprised if he's out for a while.
-
Awesome! I'll be at the game!! any free giveaways?

Get me a win on my 21st birthday Count! DOOO IT!
-
Wow, we just can't play defense on this turf. 3 errors, absolutely unacceptable. Had time, and he threw it poorly.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 27, 2009 -> 08:46 PM) I know. I wouldn't say this is late. We have 9 outs to get 1 run. I think its pretty late. Especially with the bullpen the Twins have (or at least, the closer they have).

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 27, 2009 -> 08:44 PM) What inning is it again? Bottom 6.
-
And of course, we blow it late in the game. I don't understand this stupid dome.
-
f***ing dome curse.

Gordon Beckham makes me happy.

QUOTE (tommy @ Jul 27, 2009 -> 01:06 AM) Contreras starting Thursday per Gonzales tweet. And I absolutely fail at reading a thread fully... I am an idiot. Thanks!
-
Maybe a bit off-topic, but who is then scheduled to pitch Thursday? Going to the game for my 21st birthday.. anyone else gonna be there?

Konerko's 3 homer game from a few weeks ago was my favorite. A runner up was the game against the Astros in 2006 where Iguchi sent us into extras with the 3-run jack and the grand slam (even though we lost, it was awesome).

MARK BUEHRLE PITCHES THE 18TH PERFECT GAME IN HISTORY
TitoMB345 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Don't know if this has been posted here yet (or something similar) but here's my breakdown on what the count was when the out was recorded, as well as the number of "hard hit" balls (by my judgement). Counts that Outs were Recorded on: h -> represents "hard hit" balls k -> represents a strike out, looking or otherwise 0-0 **** (4) 0-1 h (1) 0-2 **k (3) 1-0 (0) 1-1 * (1) 1-2 *k (2) 2-0 * (1) 2-1 **** (4) 2-2 kh*k*h (6) 3-0 (0) 3-1 (0) 3-2 *k**k (5) Counts that Strikeouts were Recorded on: s -> swinging strikeout L -> called strikeout 0-2 L (2) 1-2 s (1) 2-2 ss (2) 3-2 ss (2) Some interesting trends. Buehrle recorded 6 outs while ahead in the count, and 11 while even in the count. He got 10 outs while behind in the count, 5 of which came with a full count. Of those 5 full counts, he struck out 2. He only had 3 "hard hit" balls, none of which came with a full count. He owned one hitter with a K looking on an 0-2 count. My analysis: Pretty absolutely dominating performance. The 2 strike outs on the full counts is pretty impressive, showing he can get the K when he needs to. He recorded 17 of the 27 outs, 62.9% of the outs, while ahead or even in the count. I'm not sure where that ranks with other pefect games, but it seems like a pretty freakin' good number. So glad to have witnessed most of this game via some form of media. GO BUEHRLE!! EDIT: blah, it doesn't keep my spacing. No paragraph mode? -

QUOTE (Felix @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 12:20 AM) A look at the Phillies clubhouse as they were watching the game: Ignore me, I obviously didn't read the last page where it was posted twice That made me smile actually. Knowing Buehrle actually is appreciated by SOME people other than us White Sox fans. -

Unbelievable.. I got some incredible chills listening to the calls. I caught innings 5 and 6 on TV, then hopped in the car driving back from ISU and had it on the radio for the last 3.. stunning! GO MARK GO! -
This poll has no wrong choice. That is for sure.

Gordon Beckham is an awful, awful third basemen. He needs to be moved ASAP.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 07:16 PM) So by "breaking news" he meant her water breaking? Back to back lol's, hahaha.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 07:16 PM) Yes, in exchange for the future child of a flight attendant. Hahaha, AWESOME! I lol'ed.

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 07:14 PM) Did we get Halladay????? Ugh, the "breaking news" was that one of the White Sox flight attendants (a pretty lady, according to Hawk) went into labor. No trade...
