  1. Podsednik f*** it up? What a shocker! I'm not even watching it, as I have family over.
  2. Man, I wish we had a leadoff hitter.
  3. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 03:01 PM) Charles Barkley on the Dan Patrick show: :P :P :P I agree with him so much. Both of them are complete tools.
  4. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 03:05 PM) At least the movement is building steam. Now if we could just make Ozzie see it. Just saying that I've been pushing this issue forever. Oh yeah, I know. I said before that you were pushing for it. It's a PERFECT idea. But we all KNOW Ozzie ain't gonna do s*** about it, unfortunately. What to do.. what to do...
  5. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 02:56 PM) Don't go stealing my thunder. What do you mean?
  6. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) I read the title of this thread and thought it was another Freddy bashing thread. Nope, just a real, hardcore team discussion. I haven't seen very many bash posts. The closest to that was someone calling Thome non-clutch. I thoroughly enjoyed this thread last night. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 02:17 PM) Remember when it seemed like we'd be up 1-0 after the first inning as a foregone conclusion last year? I love Pods as much as the next guy, but we need a new leadoff man next year. Right now, Ozuna has been off since he was hurt. I, at this point, have no problem with Mack starting in LF and leading off. At the very least, Rob's an intelligent baserunner. I agree 100%. I said it earlier in the thread that I think Mack should be lead off and LF, it just makes perfect sense, for this team anyways. Pods isn't working, and the Podsednik Expirement needs to end soon. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 02:29 PM) Here's the kind of lineup I'd like to throw out there just once. Mack LF BA CF Dye RF Thome DH Konerko 1B AJ C Crede 3B Gooch 2B Uribe SS It's not anything to stick with, but I think it'd be worth a one game try to shake things up. Granted, that's the slowest 4-5-6-7 ever, I think it'd be worth a change. I also think that Brian could do well in the 2 spot. He doesn't have the black hole behind him or in front of him. The lefties would be spread in the lineup too. Anyway, that's if Heads was manager for a day. God knows, we have too many auto outs at time. Hmm, sounds good, but I disagree with BA being 2nd... his OBP is terrible and he strikes out way too often to be the #2. He would definately need to learn to walk more if he was going to be any higher than #8 or #9. Now, that's not to say he WONT learn to do that, but I don't know if he can within the next two months. Maybe next year, or in the future.
  7. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 02:02 PM) Last night was the ultimate proof that "momentum is as good as the next days starter" is true. If you can't pitch, you can't consistently win, and you can't gain momemtum, which is why it would take a monumental change from our starting staff for us to end up in the playoffs, let alone do anything in October. While I agree that it will take a change to get into October, I think ANYTHING can happen once we get there.
  8. Iguchi's play is #1 in my book, followed by Uribe's two plays in WS Game 4 at #2 (a 2 for 1), and then I'm undecided on the #3 play. I just don't think Fisk's play is worthy of a top 3 finish, but we'll see. If I had to guess, it will be there, even though its more worthy of maybe a top 5.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 12:00 PM) I just think it's interesting how everyone is saying how disappointing this team is after one of our better "losses" in a long time. I don't believe in moral victories, but I do believe in momentum. Unfortunately, this team does not believe in momentum. I don't see how much more momentum you can have than tying the game with a home run off "God" and then winning it in the 11th? That was a HUGE, HUGE victory for this team, and they follow it up with flat baseball for 7 innings yesterday.
  10. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:38 AM) He's going to make too much money for the Sox to be even remotely interested. They've already got something like 90+ million tied up in 15 players or so for next year. So there is basically no chance then? Even if we unload Freddy?
  11. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:41 AM) jesus f***ing christ for those of you saying this is a more frustrating season than 2004, or any year before 2005, you need to get a grip. prior to 2005 we hadn't even won a home playoff series, let alone anything of real significance, in like 800 million years. I think you are forgetting what true frustration is. we are 20 over and in the thick of a playoff race. if you can't take the heat, for christ's sake... Also, in regards to last night, Garland did get squeezed, and I don't know what Brian Gorman's vendetta is against the White Sox, but I will go on record as saying the man downright Hue Hollins'd us in the fifth inning with that bulls***. Sorry, but I couldn't disagree any more. 2006 is easily the more frustrating season.
  12. What about that second basemen from Cuba? He's supposed to be incredible, possibly better than Gooch. Only question is, is he MLB ready? I love Gooch though, but this is a business, and I am ALWAYS willing to upgrade, anywhere, if possible.
  13. QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 12:07 AM) I'd have to wonder too. Unless you were someone who had watched the game. Personally, I completely understand. I definately had watched that game, from the first pitch to the last. It was an awesome game, and I loved it.
  14. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 11:59 PM) Best. Call. Eva. Funny thing about it was from DJ going.. "OHHHHHH" I listened to that for 45 minutes straight one day... my mom asked me I was on drugs.
  15. I want to vote Under Pressure by Queen this year's theme song. Move over Journey, hello Bowie and Mercury.
  16. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 11:52 PM) so what season has been more frustrating, this one or 2004? To me, this one takes the cake over 2004 by a long shot.
  17. QUOTE(shoota @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 11:48 PM) That's a really good point. Thank you, you don't know how good it feels to have someone tell me that.
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 11:47 PM) Lefty One Out Guy Y AKA Kelly Wunsch. Ahha.
  19. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 11:47 PM) It's a lefty specialist. Right, I got that, but does LOOGY actually stand for anything? I always see it capitalized. Left-Out-Over-Godfrey-Yes?
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 11:45 PM) I think the amount of times he's been K'd late in games by LOOGYs may be skewing some opinions here, those tend to stand out more than anything. Sorry guys.... can I get an official definition of LOOGY? I don't feel like looking it up right now... QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 11:46 PM) No problem. Lets move on class . . . Sounds good to me
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 11:43 PM) Here...we should settle this. Trade Garcia, Fields, and a few others for ARod, and then make him a SS next year. I'm all for it Only if hes willing to play for about 11 Mil.
  22. QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 11:43 PM) Ooo, sorry, is that a swear violation? I didn't read the policy and haven't been psting in awhile. ???????? I'm so confused by what you mean by that? Do you think I'm telling you you can't say he sucks? Cause I'm not, I was just telling you I highly disagree.
  23. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 11:41 PM) Thome-bashing??? Absurd, ain't it?
  24. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 11:42 PM) I got into it with my Yankee friend yesterday....I told him I would rather have Joe Crede on my team right now then AROD.....he went apes***.... Oh absolutely, right now I'd take Joe as well. But I don't think Crede is, or ever will be, in the same league as A-rod.
  25. QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 11:38 PM) Granted a little exaggeration in the wee hours of the night but I'd rather have Thome. Well, I don't think we'll ever be in a situation that we have to choose Thome or A-Rod, so I think we're okay
