  1. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 02:10 PM) What, do they grow on trees? Kevin Youkilis is going nowhere, Alfonso Soriano's asking price around the deadline was way too much, Dave Roberts is having a career year, and Grady Sizemore is going nowhere. The only other one I didn't mention is Ichiro, who was unhappy with Seattle, but I doubt they'd trade the face of their franchise. So wait, you can only hit leadoff if you have hit leadoff before? You're logic is flawed. I didn't say acquire one of them, if you read the post correctly, I said acquire one like them. Find some guy with an OBP of like .380 hitting 8th in the order, and give him a shot at leadoff. .380 at the 8 spot is a waste to the extreme.
  2. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 02:08 PM) Yes, because so many leadoff men have an OBP around .400. Only 5 players have an OBP of .375 or more when batting #1 in the lineup. And those 5 are good leadoffs hitters. We should work to acquire one similar to them.
  3. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 02:05 PM) I've disliked Podsednik ever since we've gotten him, but how is this offense not 'real'? It's the best in the league in runs scored... By real, I mean with a leadoff guy that can get on base. Seriously, think of how many MORE runs scored we'd have if Podsednik had an OBP of around .400 (hell, even .375) like a good leadoff guy. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 02:06 PM) Don't you get it? The team isn't in first place, so the offense is just imaginary. It's all Pods' fault that the offense is only first in the league... and Uribe's too! Haha, not at all what I was saying. We'd be just that much better if we had a leadoff guy with an OBP higher than .340.
  4. *strings on his violin, like Ozzie did to us*
  5. Haha, so much for the "taking them out when they need to come out" logic. Ozzie played us good in that interview.
  6. The sooner Scott Podsednik is gone, the sooner we become a real offense. The guy is terrible.
  7. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) Cintron would be on second with 1 out, if Mack hit it in the same spot. I know. Great inning!
  8. Lol, we go from 1 on, no out, to none on, two out. Great job today by the 6-7-8 hitters.
  9. And as I say that, he gets caught stealing and wipes out the start to a good inning. Great job.
  10. Wow, why did Cintron never steal with the Diamondbacks? He's 8-for-9 so far this year, and the 8 SB is nearly triple his previous season high.
  11. Maybe CIntron and/or Mackowiak will get a hit this time around, but then again, probably not. THey just look really off tonight. Come on Baby Face! Prove me wrong!
  12. I would gladly get hit by a flying bat as long as it were from Thome, Dye, AJP, Crede, Konerko, BA, Gooch, Podsednik, or Frank Thomas. Would be fun.
  13. David Ortiz is just insane, even more so than Thome. Pierzysnki is having a terrible day at the plate, 5 LOB now.
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 01:31 PM) 4.56 ERA, 9 WP, that does not count today's game however. *cringe*
  15. What the gosh darn is a snapdragon?
  16. First pitch outs drive me crazy, especially from a high OBP guy like PK.
  17. What is Jose's post-DL ERA? It's around 5 isn't it?
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 01:21 PM) Don't worry, Cooper is amazing!! Even as a joke, this is become way annoying.
  19. It's okay, we got Thome, Konerko, and Dye coming up. We're gold for atleast 1.
  20. We now don't have a starter with an ERA under 3.70 What a bad year for the Sox starters.
  21. Pods weak arm allows the runner to score from 2nd.
  22. Why are we pitching outside to Glaus? Throw a heater inside and get him swinging here.
  23. Oh gosh darn, this is a bad inning.
