  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 07:08 PM) Ha....when will they learn? What a freaking joke. Lol, Ozzie is never going to learn. I think we have a better chance of signing Albert Pujols and Derrek Lee before he learns that Mack is TERRIBLE in CF and Pods is TERRIBLE in LF. Right now, we have the worst defensive outfield in the history of everything with Mack, Pods, and Dye. $50 says Damon scores.
  2. Hey, atleast it's 0-0 in the 1st. LOL that didnt take long ahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahah hahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahaha ahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahah hahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahaha ahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahaha
  3. god damn mackowiak in center, I really wish Ozzie wasn't such a stubborn little man.
  4. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 04:49 PM) Get right outta town!
  5. So, Fransisco Liriano is out "indefinately," and I feel guilt for being happy about it... what to do what to do.
  6. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 03:13 PM) The Catcher's Inn exploded when that happened. Beer flying everywhere, people hugging each other, chairs getting knocked over. One of the greatest memories in my life. I had just gotten back from O'Hare and I walked into my house, didn't even bother to get my bags from the car, and ran to the TV, grabbed the remote from my mom (who wasn't watching it!!!!!!!!!!) and put it on. Right when I turned it on, JD got "hit" and then Paulie came up and BAM! Needless to say, I lost my voice and my mother thought I was insane. The only other moment that had made me happier was when the final second ticked off the clock during Super Bowl 36 (and I was only 9!)
  7. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 03:11 PM) You live a deprived existence. Please feel free to send me a copy on DVD if you wish. I live at Cary Quadrangle on Purdue's main campus
  8. Meh, never saw Caddyshack, so I withdraw my previous comment.
  9. Wang does terrible on the road, so his numbers are skewed because he is so lights out at home. Road splits: 4 wins, 3 loses, 4.99 ERA, 61.1 IP, 79 Hits, 18 BBs, 1.58 WHIP.
  10. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:13 AM) who is overrating the white sox right now? From CBSSportsLine: 6Chicago White Sox7It's status quo for a team that figured to be a major player at the deadline. It might be a blessing in disguise, because there was a very good reason they were so good last year. Mark Buehrle and company are better than they have shown of late. We went up a spot even though we sucked that week (Pre Aug. 1)
  11. We just need the entire team to click all at once. I KNOW it will happen before the end of the year, atleast once. Think of how DOMINATING this team will be when we fire on all cylinders, like we were around the first month or two. God, JG, JC, Buehrle, Garcia, and Vazquez, unbelievable but underachieving talent on the pitching staff. And the offense, well we ALL know how sick that can be (remember the Cardinals series?) But it just isn't clicking right now. Partly, I think Ozzie needs to get in their faces and get them motivated, and partly, I think they just need to focus better. I KNOW I'm very negative most of the time, but its just because I get too emotional when I see a team that I KNOW should be doing better, suck. Usually I am only very negative during the game, or right after until the next day, and I just can't control that. I was never bothered this much during the 2003 or 2004 seasons, because I didn't expect them to win it all, but I did this year. I don't think I'm the only one in this boat either. Now that said, with my current state of mind, I think we can do this. Let's Go White Sox! QUOTE(Wanne @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:35 AM) Who knows what goes on in the clubhouse. Seems everybody is really pressing right now and like Milkman says..doesn't seem to be much heart or passion. Is Ozzie tense now and everybody can read it? Hell...next rain delay...let Mark slide on the tarp...let Joe grow his friggin hair out...this team needs to relax. DING! The team does need to relax. Kenny and Ozzie seem to be keeping the team too uptight because they are now viewed as "world champions." A team that laughs together, wins together.
  12. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) I can't for the life of me understand why people here would want Ozzie fired. I can live with some of his poor in-game decisions because, as we've seen, his managerial style won us the World Series last year. Our problem is the horrible $45M starting pitching. There's no question it's the worst out of all the contending teams. There's no consistency there. Although I did enjoy all the arguments about how the pitchers would start pitching up to their potential and what not when some posters had this rotation figured for s*** as early as mid-June. It still boggles my mind how KW stood pat without improving the team. On the bright side, we got rid of Politte and Widger. It's time to dominate the AL. YEAH!! I say we go 1-2 against the Yanks, and 0-3 against the Kitties. Go ahead and call me a pessimist, but it's just me being honest.
  13. QUOTE(rangercal @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 10:48 PM) I am sure he will also win another one. But it will be despite him. And I am sure as hell it won't be this year. Zero pitching leads to zero championships, period.
  14. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 09:49 PM) I was pointing out that you need to be a little more clearer with your posts. You said how can we play a guy in '07 with an era of 11. I'm pretty sure his era won't reach 11. If his arm is dead, and thats an if, his ERA has been around 11 since. I don't want a 2007 starter with an 11 ERA, its really not that confusing.
  15. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) I can agree with that. I was just responding to Tito's bogus claim of Buehrle getting absolutely shelled. That wasn't anywhere near the case. So, 3 homers ISN'T getting shelled? Hot damn, sign me up then, I'll pitch.
  16. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 09:43 PM) Wow dude, you're pretty good with the quote button!
  17. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 09:40 PM) His era is 11 now? Yes, his ERA during his "slump" is around 11.
  18. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 09:37 PM) That's ridiculous. 5 1/2 years > 5 or 6 bad starts Mark isn't the first good pitcher in history to go into a slump. Okay, and what if it is his arm just going dead? You think its worth 9.5 million to have a starter in 2007 with an ERA of 11?
  19. Haha, just saw the highlights on CSN, and Mark Buehrle looked absolutely f***ing terrible, oh man. I laughed really hard seeing him pitch in the 7th. He looked like a f***ing train wreck. And all three of those homers were on absolutely terrible pitches. Buehrle is toast, wow. Now I don't know who I want to see sit more, Buehrle or Garcia.
  20. QUOTE(greg775 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 09:30 PM) I wouldn't be embarrassed to wear a Buehrle jersey. Not after last year. I just want him to be shut down if his arm is toast. Start anew with him next year. The way he has pitched, I'm now not totally convinced they will pick up his 9.5 million dollar option. If he continues to pitch like he has since June, he ain't worth 4 million.
  21. Well, now that the division is officially over... we need to beat the s*** out of the Twins and Yanks coming up.
  22. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 01:29 PM) Of course we need some help from them. If they keep winning at the pace they are now, they will be impossible to catch. They need a flat tire and they need to be pressured by us. They're playing too loose right now...If we can apply some pressure, things can change in a hurry. I hope so, and I hope it starts on Friday.
  23. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 01:26 PM) Yeah, we've been waiting for this barrage for a while now. I'm beginning to question whether he'll make 50 this year. And a lot of other power guys have left him in the dust. I was just debating this with myself earlier. Ortiz has basically just taken any chance for an AL MVP for Thome by going off, and now theres a chance Thome won't get to 50, despite starting on pace for like 80 after 30 games. I REALLY hope his homer barrage starts tonight, because we could REALLY use them.
