QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 04:13 PM) Fat Freddy fashions himself as a big-game pitcher. Hopefully he'll show us all that he really is even with 86 MPH gas. ooooh... its a big game AND a day game!!! My prediction? PAIN!

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 03:28 PM) Did Uribe screw up the DP ball, or did PK just come off the bag? I decided to listen on the radio while in the pool, and Farmer made it sound like it was PK's fault. Pauly was on the bag... he tried walking off the field to sell the out... but it didn't work... Uribe took too much time getting the ball out of his glove. -

"CHICAGO'S MARK BUEHRLE HAS SEVEN STRIKEOUTS IN THREE INNINGS." I don't know wtf is going on... but I'm loving this.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 08:37 PM) i have a bettr chance of winning the lottery than ba does getting hit can I have a share of your winnings?

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 08:32 PM) Wow. It's such a rarity this year to actually have potential for a CG by our starter. The Bronze Titan is looking great... I must say I love the banner... its awesome that you can see his name and number on his glove.

High fives all around. Now lets bear down and build a nice winning streak against dem tigers... If the sox are 5.5 back by monday it will have been a very good week :sox:

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 05:41 PM) When you put together the 2 quotes as well as some of his recent actions, he's really been acting strange lately. The last time Ozzie started acting really crazy (like near bipolar) the Sox put their collective nose to the grind stone and beat off the Indians... perhaps this is a good sign "who put this thing together? Me, thats who. Who do I trust? Me, thats who." -Ozzie Guillen (while taking bubble bath and smoking a fine Cuban cigar)

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 05:21 PM) Dear lord I hope this is a misquote. http://www.suntimes.com/output/mariotti/cst-spt-jay08.html Everyone in the media (and possibly the organization) was ready to give up on him... maybe Ozzie fought to keep him here... and thats what he means

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 05:24 PM) 60 consecutive innings pitched of scoreless baseball isn't totally out of the question is it? thats what I like to see.

QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 05:09 PM) A lot of pitchers would have to literally die for Garland to have a realistic shot at the Cy Young. It's not happening, especially because his ERA will not be below 4 this year, and probably not even below 4.5. Nah... I think the serious injuries involved in being beaten by a poorly fashioned cane would probably be enough... When was the last time a pitcher missed the last 2 months of the season and still won the Cy Young?
-
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:33 PM) Unless the sentence is: Pitchers like Jon Garland don't win the Cy Young. or possibly: Jon Garland came into custody of the Cy Young after bashing Francisco Liriano, Johan Santana, Jonathon Papelbon, Roy Halladay, Justin Verlander, and B.J. Ryan in the head with a poorly fashioned cane. I said "starting to" Besides its seems he and his poorly fashioned cane already happened upon Liriano... the rest of the gang of "Cy" quality pitchers better start growing eyes in the back of their head.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 08:41 AM) He's the only starter I have condifence in right now. Here's to a CG shutout I didn't realize he only had three losses... how is it possible that people were calling him Judy and the walking tampon in game threads a couple months ago...? This kid is starting to look like a contender for the AL cy young.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 06:57 PM) Sounds like an amazing and good time. what I remember of it was... met some cute girls (got the #s to prove it), jawwed with some cub fans, and actually woke up for class in the morning... if the sox had won it would have been a great night.

boy... what a game... I was drunk before it started... and then went on a bar crawl looking for a bar with satalite that has the game... I went through about 7 bars and took shots(Irish car bombs and tequila for the most part) at all of them before finding a bar that had the game... It turns out Welch Ave. Station had the game... but at that point I was so damn drunk I didn't even watch the game. I woke up on the floor with a big bruise on the side of my head... so I'm guessing I got punched in the face or got it when I passed out on the hard wood floor. then I find out the sox lost... wtf.
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 08:08 PM) I look 12, so I don't get into bars real easy. So no, I don't. Not a huge Sox contigent in Ames. well spliff, I guess, I will have to go door to door to find out... I think a shot per bar should do (one of the many benifits of living on welch)
-
hey Heads, you're a cyclone right? do you know if any of the bars on welch would have satalite and possibly carry this game (on comcast sports net)?
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 07:57 PM) 93 mph fastball by Garcia, and he gets the pop up. Well done Freddy! he must havedone some steroids right before the game... or quit smoking the devil's weed
-
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 07:54 PM) Podsednik hasn't been the same since the groin injury last year. he had a real good month in may or june though...
-
if the sox get no hit by this piece of spliff I am so going to cry myself to sleep.
-
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 07:45 PM) Garcia will shake and TURN INTO A RAGING HULKAMANIAC ON THE MOUND! I find this remark offensive... can you ban him please? /green
-
sung to the pace Freddy is pitching at... On patroll out in the rice fields them choppers flew low, glancing up for the hand signals to tell you were to go, and the bombs started falling, and they pounded his brain, and he thought about Utah, and who was to blame, for sending him to Vietnam Thank you
-
oh jeeze... I"m drunk and the game hasn't started yet... this could be a problem
