  1. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ May 23, 2006 -> 11:04 PM) maybe he is one of those players that needed a change of scenery if by change of scenery you mean fans that don't boo and heckle him every time he steps to the plate and a competent hitting coach... I completely agree.
  2. Ozzie went all Bobby Cox on his azz! :smoke:
  3. on espn they said he would get a statue when he retires.
  4. did they cheer him after the home run?
  5. AJ also likes to whip the ball right over the batters head after they strike out... I'm sure they don't apreciate that too much
  6. I haven't seen many games where Mack was in the field... but until today, did we know he was a defensive liability?
  7. you don't know what happened... he could of fallen on a bat or something... I just notice the new banner... admins here rule
  8. and like thyat my dream of being the 2007 pitching coach of the Chicago White Sox is shattered! DAMN YOU OZZIE GUILLEN
  9. Tell her if she goes, you will get a vasectomy.
  10. QUOTE(Goldmember @ May 15, 2006 -> 04:28 PM) my oldest bro got sucker punched in highschool and had his nose severly broken. he was in agony for about a week. can't begin to imagine what arow went through... I can: Several bottles of pain killers
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 2, 2006 -> 08:11 AM) Wrigley is a bigger landmark than Navy Pier in the scheme of things. Elwood Blues lives in Wrigley field.
  12. QUOTE(mr_genius @ May 1, 2006 -> 10:48 PM) true but i want to see him consistently steal some bases on a catcher that has actually thrown someone out (the indians catcher totally blows). I don't think V-Mart is that bad a catcher... its just they play him every night... physically I bet he is exhausted... still batting damn near .400 though (carring my fantasy team )
  13. QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ May 1, 2006 -> 09:09 PM) One of the things that I REALLY liked about this game is that Big Mack found his groove. Sure he's just a bench guy, but he's a very streaky bench guy. With Dye's calf a little beat up, Mack will be seeing some playing time this week. Couldn't pick a better time for him to hit one of his hot streaks. What happened to dye's calf? Was he bitten by another bloody spider????? :banghead
  14. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ May 1, 2006 -> 06:58 PM) Our boy Scotty is getting his timing back... on the plate and on the bags... 3 for4 hitting 2 for 3 stealing bases I guess he was happy with those stats... 4 for 5 hitting one bb and 4 for 5 SB
  15. We weren't too nice to Maggs but then again... them booing Thome would be more along the lines of us booing big frank (and if any of you guys boo big frank, you can expect my beer to be dumped on your head)
  16. Our boy Scotty is getting his timing back... on the plate and on the bags... 3 for4 hitting 2 for 3 stealing bases
  17. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 12:09 AM) I missed tonight's game, so I'm not certain whether there's a particular play you're referring to, but we're not left with many options regarding a replacement. Podsednik at 70% remains a better option than anything readily available on our bench. If he's reluctant to dive for a ball or otherwise give full effort, obviously, it's a problem. Defensive gaffes are easier to overlook since Anderson patrols CF. The SB issue, however, still needs to be addressed. More so than his questionable defense. He may be able to overcome discomfort in the batters box, but unless he's 100%, his SB adventures are detrimental to this ballclub. he got picked off once and caught stealing another time.... I donno if he just doesn't have the timing right on the steals... or if he has lost a little speed.... but he needs to be more carefull... to his credit though he has been getting on base... I think he is on a 8 game hitting streak...
  18. QUOTE(kman @ Apr 29, 2006 -> 11:53 PM) Mhh as much as I hate the Cubs Maddux is the best right now. REC 5-0 | SV 0 | ERA 1.35 | WHIP .87 then lets rephrase it.... Contreras is the best pitcher that doesn't throw spit balls
  19. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Apr 28, 2006 -> 11:55 PM) Welcome aboard. Although it still amazes me in the age of Google, and the amazingly easy say, "mlb save rules" search-- that people start threads about stuff like this. Saves: Rule 10.20 in the Official Rule Book states: Credit a pitcher with a save when he meets all three of the following conditions: (1) He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his club; and (2) He is not the winning pitcher; and (3) He qualifies under one of the following conditions: - (a) He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning; or - (B) He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, or at bat, or on deck (that is, the potential tying run is either already on base or is one of the first two batsmen he faces; or - © He pitches effectively for at least three innings. No more than one save may be credited in each game. So say garcia pitches 6 innings and leaves with a big lead... like 12 runs... then Bmac comes in and pitches 3 scoreless innings... did Bmac get a save?
  20. and an additional question.... I've been away from the Chi since the white sox won the series... is it still possible to get same day tickets at the Cell... I'm thinking about treking to the second city for one of the angels games.
  21. why didn't jenks get the save tonight? was it because he only faced one guy and it was 3 run lead? they should have at least given cotts the save.... someone deserved a save tonight gosh dargit!
