6/10 GDT Houston Astros @ Chicago White Sox
Quick rule of thumb....pointing out the obvious usually doesn't = b****ing. I'm not sure why you're super sensitive about anyone saying Q should be able to produce more in the W/L, just stating the facts. Btw, pitching more innings than Sale in the last 2 years is kind of a given, considering Sale was on the DL last year and all...

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 09:00 PM) You want him to turn into John Danks? He has a 92 mph heater. He works with what he has man. Being "more direct" would lead to gopherballs. Guys who 'only' throw 92 can still have success by not chalking up big pitch counts early in games. Pitch counts are about the dumbest thing around to measure a guys ability to stay in a game, but it unfortunately is the metric that still some how reigns supreme. He has to find a way to find some efficiency.

If Q could be more direct at going after guys, who knows what his career W/L record would look like. 101 games career, 600 innings...these 20+ pitch innings have to be much less a part of his starts.

3-1 count, with a guy having control issues, and we try to steal with Avi...

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 08:48 PM) Not his fault Has he EVER been able to pitch over mistakes? At some point, part of it is his fault. Yeah, this team gives him jack all run support and shoddy defense, but he isn't exactly innocent of all failure.

6/7 vs Tigers
Nice 93 mph meatball voer the plate to a guy who crushed a pitch earlier in the game. Good gameplan.

I didn't read the whole thread, admittedly, but...is there a reason Alexei isn't hitting 2nd again today? He actually was getting hits and on base, hitting 2nd. And Melky is....well Melky, and useless at that spot.

**6/6 Game Thread for Sox vs p**** Cats**
I guess the only way we can get any kind of good effort out of Danks, is if he is pitching in front of his whole family...otherwise, it is this or a similar performance.

Ladies and gentlemen, John Danks.

This sad sack of an offense is embarrassing.

Can someone subtly slide Melky some juice, please? This version sucks hardcore.

White Sox @ Rangers - 6/3/15 - 7:05 CDT - CSN
First pitch swinging Alexei, no matter the situation....now under .230 for the season, with suspect defense.

Tyler Flowers, ladies and gentlemen.

Doesn't bode well to sport a WHIP of 3.00 against one of the hotter hitting teams in baseball right now. Those trade bait numbers are going to take a hit.

HR #1 for the kid, and gives the runs right back. Thanks Samardzija

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 08:41 PM) Prince has not dropped 1 pound if he is working out. I'd take him, and his jumbo size, any day. I never looked at his career numbers really, but for a guy his size, surprising that he still carries a really high OBP, and doesn't strike out nearly as much as a lot of power hitters.

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 08:38 PM) Did Shark used to have better stuff? His stuff looks really pedestrian since he's been with us. He's rarely had any zip on anything, early on, this season. That has helped him to get into some deficits quickly, unfortunately.

Alexei with that sparkling .246 OBP. And that .323 from Avi seems like it is the lightest .323 I can remember in a long time. It just seems like a guy with that many hits, but only 18 RBIs, clearly isn't hitting when it matters.

Well...I guess one saving grace, is that the Rangers pitching is nothing special at all.... of course...they haven't faced an offensive juggernaut like the Sox yet this season!

Off to a great start. Get 2 outs, then 4 straight hits. You don't see that every day.
