And here you go!

Ya for real...just think before the digits hit the keyboard folks.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 11:42 PM) Ozzie started using his pitchers way too long the first week after the ASB, when he left Garcia in the game until the 9th inning against the Tigers in a game that he had thrown a ton of pitches and had nothing left. Since then, he's been very hesistant to trust the bullpen. Very overlooked fact. FACT. Our starters have ALL been left out there way too long, and as we come down the stretch, the gas tanks are empty...

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) Ok...calm down...have some dip. It'll be ok. Do we have a suicide hotline thread here @ soxtalk? SS2K5 sits there and racks up posts by trying to tell people life is still worth living? Have some dip...that a quote from a George Carlin standup? For some reason that stands out to me.

Thats fine JimH...but so help me god if I hear that Hermansons back is hurting now after the game, blah blah blah...then DON'T f***ING PITCH HIM. Jenks would have been just fine against these assclowns, even after throwing 2 innings last night. And its not Ozzies fault that our top 4 have been pitching like ass the last 2 months? Well, thats questionable, these guys have been throwing alot of innings this year.
-
Ya I found that last year. The Jim Rome clip from Fox is great, as is the one where he plays all 4 Fox personalities.
-
Was IMO a VERY hastily made decision to give him the extension, one we may dread later on..he just doesn't impress me, but hey what do I know.
-
Saw this preview a while back, and the film kinda slipped my mind. Cheadle certainly blew up with Hotel Rwanda, etc...but IMO deservedly so. I'll have to go check it out sometime soon.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 02:45 AM) Heh with how you guys looked yesterday and adding in the fact that Walker might be out for the rest of the season. You would almost have to be lucky to get 8-8. Well, as much as I hate to say it because it was Detroit, the dome factor didn't help. In case you aren't aware of it, Favre + Dome = s***tastic results. But agreed, this team is in a heap of a mess right now. -

As a Packers fan(yeah, yeah...don't start), I'm gonna go ahead and write this season off as the farewell tour of Brett, be content with 8-8 or so, and hope like hell that Aaron Rodgers turns out to be some kind of hellacious prodigy under Favre. This team just doesn't have 'it' anymore. And with Walker now in doubt, well I'll say that I'm glad I at least get to watch Spurrier and South Carolina... -
Ya I was preparing my rant, but then I figured.."Surely Qwert is being sarcastic.."

Happy Birthday, you Aussie bastid.

QUOTE(hi8is @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 08:40 PM) yeah, i forsee a possible DL trip "Orlando Hernandez was placed on the 15-day DL today retroactive to September 7th, due to a bruised ego." Well I can dream.

Enough of the bulls*** Ozzie. How about we worry less about how Duque's 'feelings' and more about the AL Central title....you know, the one that we currently are pissing away to a better Cleveland team. Duque has been scrap for a while now, and BMac gives us a BETTER OPPORTUNITY to win the game. We don't need a manager to contribute to the chokejob right now Oz, make the right decision based on the TEAM needs. Jesus man...

sonofab****. Because we can't kick a goddamn extra point, we lose on the road to the #9 team in the nation, Georgia, 17-15. Nothing else I can say. We are playing tons of freshman and true sophomores. Chalk year 1 up under Spurrier as the learning year. -
the Foozer show was better than i expected honestly. I mean, Grohl and the Foo didn't disappoint, and gave the performance that I would always want from them. BUt the big surprise was Weezer. I've long heard that those guys hate touring, and aren't exactly a great live show. I'll have to disagree 100%. Rivers and the guys put on a great show, playing lots of the stuff that most of us who were into teh Blue Album and Pinkerton remember. to Rivers and the boys, I was very pleasantly surprised.

Stage presence and incessant rambling shouldnt be considered the same. Like I said, different strokes for different folks.

Opinions, like assholes, as they say... I saw them in Charlotte last year, thought they did a pretty good job myself. Are they out there pepping the crowd up? No, but if you are there to hear stories instead of hearing the music, you can always go read the internet. Just my humble opinion.
-
Headed to Foo Fighters and Weezer later today in Atlanta, and scored Seether with Audioslave tickets for the same venue next month. Oddly enough, I'm more looking forward to the Seether part of the show. I've heard a few Audioslave shows live, and Cornell's voice kinda...well doesn't always sound so great, Shaun Morgan's voice, OTOH, is unmistakable, and I love hearing these guys live.

I still think that the 2005 version of El Duque in the playoffs is going to be relegated to being that Game 3 or 4 starter when the pen has had rest from Buehrle/Garcia. If you get 6 IP out of him in a playoff game, consider it a success IMO. This isn't the same Hernanzed that sparkled in the postseason for the Yankees. They don't call me Captain Obvious for nothing.

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 02:06 AM) He used to be a Sox prospect Yep, and KW was the most ignorant GM EVER!! for trading him and Miguel Olvio to get some guy named Freddy Garcia!
-
QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 12:36 AM) So how about Contreras!! He's awesome!!! A true ace in the making. If I were OG i would consider him as one of the playoff starters. The 5 walks bother me. Thats what the old Contreras would do to get in tons of trouble.
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 02:10 AM) I'll answer your question. Ozzie is giving El Duque every chance to prove, now, that can be counted on to pitch 110-120 pitches. If he is unable to do so, which has been the case so far, then that will be figured into the equation when determining who the 4th starter will be in the playoffs. I keep saying that Ozzie has long term goals in mind and keeps giving guys chances to prove what they can and cannot do. When people scream because Ozzie leaves El Duque in for an inning more than they think he should, and say he doesn't know how to handle a pitching staff, they aren't looking at that big picture at all. I understand that YAS, but Hernandez's fragileness is not a new subject. You have a pitcher who is in a groove so to speak in BMac, who can save a bit of wear and tear on your playoff savvy, but aging #3/4 guy. Why not Let BMac have the next 2-3 starts, then put Duque back in there when it gets close to playoff time. Its debatable whether or not Hernandez would outperform Contreras at this point as the #3 guy in the playoffs. We base all of Duque's 'clutch playoff pitching' from a younger version of the pitcher we have.
-
Agreed. What a s***ass thing to say, Ozzie. No one is proclaiming BMac as the next Roger Clemens, but you CAN'T look past what he has done in his last 2 starts. He has dominated 2 MLB lineups. Besides, what incentive is there to throw Duque out there every 5th day during the regular season for 110-120 pitches? To see if you can make his arm fall off? Now is a great time to let him rest....sometimes I just have to shake my head at Ozzie.
-
Seriously though..... how about those Sox in September!!!!
