  1. Hehe, i can only laugh Benchwarmerjim. Nice work OK then Hermy, guess its time for you to get a Win instead of a Save.
  2. QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 09:43 PM) behind whoever in FLA is number 3, hes the best number 3 pitcher in the bigs imo Could be. Thing is, he wasn't brought here to be a #3. If Garland doesn't have a breakout year, Garcia is looked upon to be the guy right behind Buehrle. Problem is, you know what Garcia is gonna do just about every outing.....stuggle in the first inning, giving up 1-4 runs, then shutting the opposition down but still giving up a few too many hits, then running into another inning that leaves him on teh hook. His WHIP has absolutely sucked since the ASB
  3. Thats the thing with Garcia...I just dont see the #1/2 type starter in him that most claim he is...just looks kinda bleh to me everytime I see him.
  4. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) Tino is acceptable, he has 17 homeruns, and plays good defense.
  5. Reign it in folks. Keep the topic...well, ON TOPIC.
  6. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:28 AM) The real question is who is reponsible for the deferred money. As the other deal was worked, KGJ's annual salary was doable for the Sox. Yep, thats the 1 area I really want to see a definitive answer on, because there is a backlog of cash owed to Griffey, and I've heard very little about that part of the situation.
  7. I think people need to realize how this will impact the Sox not only for the rest of 2005, but the length of the contract. I'm not saying I'm against the move at all, but financially, the Griffey deal is a trainwreck.
  8. And just when you think Uribe can't be any worse at the plate....
  9. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:13 AM) That sounds like Giambi's at bat. Lately that sounds like every at bat for a lefty against Marte.
  10. One thing about the Expos old logo that alot didn't ever notice...its an M, E, and B.. 'M'ontreal 'E'xpos 'B'aseball

    Cliches

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 05:53 AM) Sorry. It's from John Travolta as Vinnie Barbarino in the old sitcom Welcome Back Kotter. It was a running gag on the show. Up yo' nose, with a rubba hose!!
  12. Steff is right. Nevins family all are in San Diego, and its nice to see someone who makes his family the deciding factor in where he plays.
  13. IMO Alex Smith will NEVER live up to that salary....he should call Urban Meyer every week to thank Meyer for making him all that cash. Smith to me seems like a slightly above average heady QB, thats about it.

    PC question

Go to Tools, Internet Options, then under the Content tab... hit the Auto-Complete tab and set it as you want it.
  15. For those of you calling for Burnett to be traded to the Sox, answer 1 question for me please, and no I am not bashing in any way. Exactly what hole does Burnett fill for us? Why do we need another starter for 2+ months of the season, at the cost of Marte/BMac and Contreras? Burnett, from what I read, isn't gonna resign with us long-term. As I recall, it isn't our pitching that is losing many games for us. Its teh inept offense in critical scoring chances. This team is 27th in OBP....TWENTY-SEVENTH!! I don't care if Roger Clemens is out there 5 days a week for us, when you don't score for him, it doesn't matter. I'd be much more focused on getting someone like Vizquel over here, even with his contract status, then I would another arm that won't help us post-2005. Just my opinion though, what do I know
  16. Guys, don't post word for word copies of premium articles from other pages. Summation, thats another thing, but copy and paste is a bad idea.
  17. RIP EM!! Rip those cocky cocksuckers!!
  18. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 10:07 PM) Thats an amazing story lollerskates...
  19. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 02:41 AM) Putting 20 years on the line. Or, at least, having that contract impact our payroll for 20 years. That's just crazy. I too believe that, its just asking way too much for this organization to commit to something like that. Rowand is still servicable, and yes having a down year offensively. Fact is AaRow is a White Sox farm product, willing to do whatever it takes to get this team the W's. He does a very good job patrolling Centerfield. The price we got him locked in for the next 2.5 years, years that he should come into his prime, for $8.5 mill over 3 years. That is NOT alot of money in the MLB market these days, for a guy who is our best defensive outfielder, and most times can hold his own at teh plate.
  20. That contract, in terms of yearly money, doesn't totally scare me off...but that sucker is backloaded with some serious change through the year 2025....20 MORE f***ING YEARS. That contract is quite simply, a financial nightmare. Acquiring Griffey is definately the definition of putting it all on the line to win it all this year.
  21. I would cry like a baby everynight if for some silly reason KW moved AaRow out and put Pods in CF. I'm sorry, but the ONLY reason Pods makes some of the catches he does is because of speed. He has no idea in terms of defensive positioning. And to put him out in charge of teh OF in CF is just, not a good idea.

    Perfume scam

Indeed...always check Snopes for the win!! Urban Legends page is one I used to read alot while bored at work.
  23. Have only played the first game on default settings, seeing as I'm using my favorite lowly South Carolina Gamecock team. Beat a pretty bad Central Florida team 31-14. Cory Boyd is about unstoppable in this game. I just hand entered all the player info for my team, including incoming freshmen that they didnt have in the game. So far, I'm liking it. Next game is at Georgia, so I expect to be 1-1 after that. Maybe bump it up to All American with the slider settings, we'll see.
  24. Lots like to say he is only average defensively, I guess cause they love to bash the guy. Crede's defense is something that should NOT be questioned. Look at the stats...the guy is a great defensive third baseman, no question. And while I do get agitated at times with him at the plate, swinging Thor's Hammer up there, he came up big tonight, and I hope it continues!
