  1. QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:49 PM) How did Paulie leave the game? Did it have anything to do with the foul off his knee? It was off his shin. It actually looked like it was off the pad he wears.
  2. I don't like PR for Thome here. If it goes to extra innings, the Sox are going to be really short without Konerko and Thome. If Thome was the tying run that would be one thing.
  3. PH Mackowiak here. He can play 1B.
  4. Its amazing how pitchers in the NL routinely get bunts down. DJ makes it sound like bunting is impossible.
  5. QUOTE(Butter Parque @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) I don't think Thome has a chance agianst Ray Even if he closes his eyes and swings there's a chance he hits it solid, and when he hits it solid there's a chance its gone.
  6. QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:40 PM) The team just looks beaten there is no life All teams do when they aren't scoring runs.
  7. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:35 PM) We will. He will most likely K. Looking.
  8. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:35 PM) I'm sure some of that has to do with our pitching not being very good, while other parts have to do with our lack of being able to find creative ways to score. I think its the pitching. Last year they won a lot of low scoring games. It really is what separated 2005 from recent seasons. It wasn't that the offense was more consistent, it was that they were able to win a lot more often when they didn't score much.
  9. Hawk hired Fregosi to manage.
  10. Jim "Bella" Fregosi is scouting the game tonight.
  11. The White Sox have only won 5 games this season scoring 3 or less runs.
  12. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:32 PM) I recall Ozzie benching Uribe last year for not hustling. Apparently he isn't as concerned with that this year. Ozzie himself used to do that. I remember Hawk sort of calling him out on it once. He said he hated when Ozzie did that. Now almost everyone does.
  13. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:29 PM) Nice hussle down the line AJ. There are too many White Sox that give the courtesy jog down the line on routine grounders. If you develop a reputation for busting your ass, you will make the opposition commit at least 1 error every year, and probably more.
  14. QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:26 PM) good trade by kenny. mcD is worth having for this year and beyond and he's cheap. hopefully having him this year matters but our SP will determine that As long as he stays healthy. That's been a huge problem for him.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:13 PM) So he leaves in Garcia to face a lefty to start this inning? Will someone please explain this to me? Exactly. If he doesn't think Freddy can get out of this mess now, why leave him in for the lefty? The only thing I can think of is maybe the runner won't be off to the races with Freddy taking a shower.
  16. Take him out now Ozzie while there is still a chance.
  17. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:06 PM) Highly touted player when we drafted him out of Stanford. Great athlete, very raw and he supposedly calls a great game. The pitchers we've interviewed at FutureSox have all raved about Lucy's game calling ability and well defensive prowess. OFfensively he's still building his game and he had some troubles early in his minor league career but he's done better as of late. Still he's a few years away from the show, but the upside is definately there as he's a top notch athlete. Thanks, I'm going to keep my eye on him. I just saw him when they were taking infield and it was one of the most impressive throwing performances I've ever seen.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:05 PM) Welcome to the joys of pitching at SafeCo with an amazing defense behind you. Jim Parque could have been effective there. You make great points in just about every post you ever produce, but Parque and effective should never be used in the same sentence.
  19. Does anyone know anything about the minor league catcher the Sox have, Lucy? I saw him in Spring Training, and he has an unbelievable arm.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:55 PM) Screw motivating...how about better strategizing? We seem determined to let the other team's best players consistently beat us with 2 outs. That is exactly right. The other team's best players always get a chance to beat the Sox. Paulie out.
  21. At least Bedard's at 103 pitches. Maybe that's why Freddy throws 87 mph now. He's been rumored to be dealt.
  22. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:52 PM) Whatever Hawk. There were tons of rumors last year with Griffey and Burnett. The Tigers and Twins have been involved in a lot of rumors as well. Its a BS excuse.
  23. It looks like the Sox could use a few pots of the "leaded" coffee.
  24. Trading Thome would be idiotic. The effect he has had on this offense this year is beyond incredible.
  25. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) We might as well start MacDougal now, and take advantage of him being healthy. Who do you think will land on the DL first, MacDougal or Alomar?
