Ozzie goes off
The team won 5 out of 6 on the homestand. Should have been all 6, but they haven't been firing on all cylinders. This is a tough stretch of games. Losing 2 out of 3 at TB is unacceptable. I like Ozzie popping off. I also think Ozzie should look in the mirror and give himself some grief for his decisions today. They were not good.

KW is not going to trade for crap to play CF. That would rule out Pierre, Erstad and Finley. If the Sox do get another CF, its going to be a great one. That is unlikely to be available, so KW needs to fix other spots, specifically the bullpen, and the bench is too left handed. There is no reason Ross Gload should be on the roster. Its a wasted spot.

White Sox @ Blue Jays
Hopefully Garland won't be, like the song says, "serving them up like John McEnroe." I think this is a very bad match-up for Jon.

CF Talk
I wonder if KW could get Carl Crawford. I think he could play CF. It would cost a ton, but would be worth it. I actually don't think the Sox need another CF, but a guy on the bench who hits right handed would be nice, and some bullpen help.

Erstad had 1 great year, is injury-prone, and KW already traded for him once. Garland for Erstad a few years ago, which was agreed to only to be vetoed by Angel ownership later.

If Nelson was highly thought of at this point, he never would have been broadcasting with Seattle when KW ran into him and eventually signed him. He did his job and got out of the inning before. He's going to give up runs if he faces more than a couple of hitters, look at his recent ERAs. He's not bad for the last guy on the staff or to face a tough RH batter. Asking him to come back and pitch after getting out of an inning is too much for him, especially now when he hadn't pitched since spring training and only pitched 4 or 5 innings in Charlotte. Ozzie obviously chose to take a chance with the loss in order to save the bullpen.

If a guy is going to give that pathetic of an attempt at a bunt twice, they should have made him try again. I bet the effort would have been a little better.

As unsure I am about Nelson, I'd much rather see him here than Montero. If Montero came in here, the game would only last a few more pitches at most.

QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ May 27, 2006 -> 06:09 PM) Anyone think that JD looks a little slower this year -- in the field, and, like, just now? He takes long strides. He looks a lot slower than he really is, except for maybe that last play.

JD was doing his best Konerko impression going from first to third.

QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ May 27, 2006 -> 06:05 PM) raise your hand if you thought he would have an era 4 points lower that cliff politte I figured Politte would not be very good this year, but not quite as ineffective as he's been.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 27, 2006 -> 06:02 PM) I'm not as high on Coop as most people. Why can't he fix Judy and Cliff? Coop's a good pitching coach. He's not a miracle worker. He's just like most coaches and managers, they get way too much credit when things go right, and take on way too much blame when things are bad.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 27, 2006 -> 06:00 PM) I am baffled. Besides Jenks, his options are pretty slim. I don't know if Toronto has a lefty on the bench, but if he brings in Nelson and Toronto pinch hits a lefty, the odds go to Toronto. If Politte comes in, if Toronto signs me and sends me to bat, the odds are in Toronto's favor.
