3 coaches to get Extensions
All the coaches except for Raines signed extensions. Harold must really like dodging balls over at first base.

QUOTE(sircaffey @ May 18, 2006 -> 08:56 PM) Maddux 2-2 5.64 ERA .316 BAA career against the White Sox...I like it. The Sox either kill him or he's unhittable.

Hawk hasn't said be a good 2 strike hitter all night.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 18, 2006 -> 08:46 PM) I agree with this. I have no problem with him swinging at a first pitch fastball. It would have been nice if appeared he was looking for it and ready for it.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 18, 2006 -> 08:45 PM) 3 outs till second place eat some f***in flattop or portillo's assholes You can't go wrong with either of those choices. BTW, if any of you ever take in a game on the Club level, I highly recommend the foot long polish. Its ridiculous in size, and pretty tasty especially after a few beers.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 18, 2006 -> 08:42 PM) Pods is our hottest hitter. He had a fastball right down the pipe and he just missed it. Frustrating as hell, but you can see why Ozzie switched and why Pods swung. He had a feeling for it on the swing. I'm sure he'd be the first to tell you he did not put a good swing on the ball.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 18, 2006 -> 08:39 PM) Perhaps this game will not count since there are only about 5,000 there to witness it. Its sounds like a golf tournament in there.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 18, 2006 -> 08:38 PM) I meant in regards to leaving a tiring pitcher in. I was shocked that he left Vazquez in after the Lugo hit. Vazquez had that fatigue look after hanging that curve. Oh well....got to hold them and get a run in the 9th. If it were Jerry Manuel, he would be talking about that AB 3 years from now.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 18, 2006 -> 08:35 PM) Your pinch runner is up to bat. Have Gload pinch run, I'm sure the gatorade jug is full, he has nothing else to do.

Please pinch run now.

He should have nailed that fastball.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 18, 2006 -> 08:25 PM) But for some reason everyone dismisses the Tigers. The Tigers are going to be tough if their pitching holds up. They will spend loads of money if they have a chance to win.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 18, 2006 -> 08:19 PM) 3 runs against an average picher (at best) should not win you the ball game. Honestly, we deserve to lose this game. Runs allowed in the last 8 games: 12,10,8,7,3,10,2 and 5 so far tonight.

Credit this and any additional runs this inning to not having a lefty in the bullpen not named Cotts who Ozzie could have minimal confidence it.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 18, 2006 -> 08:16 PM) Recently, the problem has not so much been our pitching as a lack of clutch hitting. Hopefully a change is coming. The pitching has been pretty bad since the last game of the Angels series.

For the reason Vazquez with his talent is below .500, see the pitch he threw to Hollins

I'm a fan of Pablo, but not of his play in LF. If the Sox still have the lead after this inning, they should lift him for defense next inning.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 18, 2006 -> 08:04 PM) Until he accepts his baldness and stops worrying about the hairplugs. He's f***ing loaded -- he could be missing an eye and wear an eyepatch and the ladies would still love him. If he's got plugs, it doesn't look like they took.

How many more years until Paulie has the toilet seat hairdo?

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 18, 2006 -> 07:55 PM) In 20 years, Sox fans won't even know that Hawk is dead -- the Sox will just replace him with an intern with a soundboard. Sometimes when I watch games my wife is in the background, and I will see the play and say what Hawk is going to say just before he does. She marvels that I know what he's going to say, and thinks I should get a job like his. I just go with it.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 18, 2006 -> 07:53 PM) Hawk gets off on repeating the same 'ol stories about Catfish Hunter and Yaz. I think I know more about Yaz than most die-hard Red Sox fans at this point. That is if in fact Hawk's stories are true.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 18, 2006 -> 07:49 PM) In case you're keeping score at home. Brian Anderson Batting Average Watch: .170 That's .018 below Frank Thomas, the greates hitter in White Sox history, now entering his prime.

The White Sox obviously want to get home ASAP,

If the ball would have been playable, the ball getting stuck on the catwalk at least made Hendrickson throw a lot more pitches.
