  1. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ May 30, 2006 -> 08:24 PM) reminds me of brad lidge, only has a slider and fastball and cant get anyone out. >freddy and contreras are pitching the next 2 games I'd take Lidge in a heartbeat. Considering it appears Clemens is going to be paid $3.5 million a month to pitch for them, maybe the Astros would like to dump his salary for some of the Sox filth in the minors, and Politte. Throw in Gload, he'll carry Clemens' bags.
  2. Politte should only be used in blowouts, and to bean guys.
  3. I wonder if Texas would be impressed enough with some of the crap KW signed in the offseason at Charlotte to give up Little Sarge.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2006 -> 08:03 PM) Yes, but the Ozzie stuff came out before we had to face the lefties. Now that we're done facing them, it wouldn't stun me. The only problem is that we have absolutely no one we could call up to replace him. That's a huge problem. If Anderson is in Charlotte, Mack becomes the CF. Pods I guess would be his back-up, but with Pods in CF, you wouldn't want Pablo or Gload in LF.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2006 -> 08:00 PM) Anyone think Anderson's going to get shipped out after tonight? I would doubt it. Its not like its Jon Garland he's batting against.
  6. Sabathia is probably done, unless Wedge is really worried about his job.
  7. Hawk saying Ozzie has done everything he can to make things easier for Anderson. Threatening to send him to Charlotte makes things easier?
  8. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:47 PM) What is with that dial up sound whenever "an emergency has been declared in your area?" It's also so damn loud. I don't know why but it pisses me off. You'll appreciate it when you're 90.
  9. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:45 PM) Yes. Wasn't he not so good with risp last season?
  10. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:43 PM) Freudian slip, lol I still think the guy can and will hit eventually. Hopefully its not 5 years from now.
  11. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:40 PM) Coming into tonights game, BA had 108 AB's with 18 hits which gave him a .168 batting average. Here is what BA will have to do in his next 108 AB's to obtain the following averages which many here would deem acceptable: .220 Avg = 29 hits/108AB's (.268 Avg) .235 Avg = 31 hits/108 AB's (.287 Avg) .250 Avg = 36 hits/108 AB's (.333 Avg) I don't know, I just don't think Anderson can go on a terror like that. He's current result have been a terror. Hopefully he can go on a tear.
  12. Its pitch black and pouring on the northside. At the very least, Paulie is running up his pitch count
  13. Paulie in the catbird seat
  14. Is Sauerbeck available tonight, or is he still in the bushes?
  15. QUOTE(T R U @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:32 PM) Graves With hair like that, how can you not be a fan Didn't he go to AAA?
  16. I wonder what Pablo could do if he played everyday. Of course he would probably get hurt in the field for that to last very long.
  17. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:27 PM) is Hawk crazy? "Our bullpen is not near where it was at this point last year..." No, Hawk, we don't have Vizcaino giving up games once a week, we don't have Marte's unpredictable outings.... I think people forget that our bullpen was a bit of a mess in May last year... Hermanson, Cotts, and Politte were automatic at this time last year. Jenks is getting close to automatic right now, everyone else has an issue or 2, although Thornton has pitched well of late.
  18. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:23 PM) You have to be insane to think that a pitcher doesn't know who he is pitching against. When he faces Sabathia, he realizes that he has to pitch a very good game and it puts pressure on him. That pressure can effect the way he pitches. Didn't Buerhle beat Cleveland 1-0 on opening day last year? How can you praise Garland 64-61 lifetime coming into this season with a 4.42 career ERA, and knock Buerhle 85-53 3.63. They both broke in the same season, 2000,.
  19. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:21 PM) He got the W in his last start. That's all that matters. If the game was closer he would have definitely focused more and hit the corners. But when you are pitching with the lead, you let the other team hit. That is what he did and it worked out for him. Garland knows how to pitch. He is a fierce competitor and I would want him out there for game 1 of the world series. A fierce competitor that can't go more than 6 innings. I know you're BSing now.
  20. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:19 PM) When was he in the bullpen? Pretty sure he pitched a CG against the Angels? Yep, he did. His turn was skipped. My mistake. He was the #4 starter in the Boston series, so he wasn't used, and then was skipped for Contreras and Buerhle against the Angels. Maybe Ozzie didn't want to use his best at the start.
  21. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:17 PM) If the playoffs were to start today, he'd in the bullpen. I guess if you want to call that being the man, then he's the man. He was in the bullpen last year during his breakout season. Now he's just batting practice. But he only gave up 3 homers and 5 runs in 6 innings last start. He's fine now.
  22. What is Widger's reputation for calling a game? Since Buerhle doesn't ever shake of a catcher, I wonder what his numbers are with AJ catching him vs. Widger, although I do agree AJ probably should be forced to hit off CC.
  23. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 30, 2006 -> 07:10 PM) Buehrle gives up the lead in one inning, but it's okay. Garland doesn't give up lead for 5 innings, everybody is ready to ship him out. Garland > Buerhle What are their career numbers? You really couldn't be foolish enough really to believe Garland with his 6.25 ERA is better than Buerhle can you?
  24. The White Sox are just asking for trouble if they think the answer to their bullpen woes is on the Charlotte Knights right now.
  25. I wonder what his wife makes of this.
