Sox @ Angels - ALCS Game 3
2 wins shy of a World Series appearance which ties the closest they have been in 46 years.

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) If Jenks comes in, he's going to have his work cut out for him with Figgins being a pesty first batter. I'd go with Cotts.

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) Let Jenks get it. He hasn't pitched since last friday No one in the bullpen has had much work which usually means you're winning which is good. But not pitching for a while usually means control problems when they come in. Eventually, they are going to be needed. Its a catch 22 situation.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) If we score then Jon gets the 9th. If we dont then I think Jenks is gonna get it. Ozzie should go to the bullpen regardless. All those guys could use some work.

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) And leave himself even more vulnerable to the outside offspeed pitch? As someone said just a few seconds ago, he'd make a great 4th outfielder. If anything, I'd like to see him get right up on the plate. It will make him shorten his swing, which last season was as compact as any you would ever see, and would give him a better chance when he fishes for those sliders a foot off the plate.

Bring in Cotts.

If Garland doesn't get Finley, Ozzie has to go to the bullpen

QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) Yep, and he rips lefties. He needs to work on his swing in the off-season. He's not ripping anybody lately.

I would really like Ozzie to use the bullpen. They have hardly pitched in the postseason, although Garland is cruising.

Everett and Rowand with total failure. I hope 5 is enough.

Sox @ Angels - ALCS Game 3
Rowand has really turned into a DP machine.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 06:47 PM) The rumor is that Big Vlad is injured. He isn't hitting at all and he's running like a girl. His knee is bad, you can tell when he runs, he's limping badly or not running at all, and they said he has been icing his left shoulder.

Nice DP Iguchi. Garland shuts them down after a 3 spot. Let's get 3 more.

He blew Cabrerra away.

The one thing I'm worried about is a Garland walk-a-thon with the layoff.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 06:40 PM) Wow, Figgins almost rips a double down the line. That's really using "rips" loosely.

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) What happened to Rowand's power? It looked like he drove that ball pretty well off the bat. I think you know.

They should pull that ump.. Because....
They just showed how he was calling other dropped 3rd strikes yesterday. Rowand swung and missed a ball in the dirt, Eddings had that deal were he sticks his arm out and watched the catcher tag Rowand and then came with the out or as he calls it now, strike call. Eddings might not have said anything but he definitely signaled AJ out. It was a huge break and thank God the Sox took advantage.

The Pregame concert, for those who went
For those of you that attended the game last night, the guy who played a couple of songs before the anthem, did I hear him correctly when he finished saying "thank you Chicago, go Red Sox"?

John Cusack at Game 2
There was a guy selling suite tickets on craiglist for $400. I wonder if he got in through him. JR is a hero for not hooking him up.

IT WAS THE RIGHT CALL.
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 10:40 PM) The replay on Crede getting doubled off showed he was clearly out. At least he totally redeemed himself.

IT WAS THE RIGHT CALL.
It might have been the right call, its still hard to tell, but he signaled out. That's the problem. I am so happy he did call it a trap.I think Buerhle was going back out in the 10th and I had visions of Britt Burns and Tito Landrum back in 1983. That game featured a baserunning blunder just like this one. What did the replay show when Crede was doubled up? It really didn't matter, Pods would have had to drive him in, and I think we all know that wasn't happening.
