  1. WOW DOES THIS TEAM SUCK!!!!!
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2009 -> 01:26 PM) It's sad we think Nix has had good ABs and his batting average is .222. My excuse for him, I'd like to see him get consistent at-bats at a position he has played before. I'll keep up the excuses. You think the fact he cost his team a run and mostly likely the game is wearing on him now?
  3. Richard with 1.2 WHIP and doing exactly what this team needs him to do. Really sad the defense and hitting are s*** right now.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2009 -> 01:16 PM) Dye could get you something (especially if Reds are involved). Jenks is the one he should really look to move. The whole pen could get you something. If you are moving Jenks, move Thorton and Dotel as well. Some team would also over pay for Linebrink (i.e. Yankees, Red Sox , cubs) It Really is sad that the thing almost every team needs is the thing the Sox are strongest at right now.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2009 -> 01:13 PM) 2? Something going unnoticed this year is how down our power numbers are. Maybe that's why you're better off just loading up with a homer hitting team instead of trying to add speed players. I am not interested in looking but htat sounds about right. Speed players are fine if they hit over .235 I think the poor farm system is coming home to haunt finally as neither Getz or Fields seem to be capable of handling major league pitching.
  6. What are the most runs scored in an inning by the White Sox where there has not been a home run hit?
  7. Richard is doing his job. The personnel decisions and hitting are killing this team. Walker oughta resgin. A guy on the post game yesterday pointed this out. If they like him this much let him work with younger kids because he ain't getting the job done here.
  8. Dye's K/BB is 34/9...not good.
  9. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 18, 2009 -> 12:50 PM) this is f***ing ridiculous. why is Nix a guy who by all accounts could be a gold-glove caliber infielder playing left-f***ing field? Why is f***ing Pods not in left, when Alexei can play f***ing center, and Anderson is healthy? I posted this earlier. The personnel decisions of this team look like something out of the movie Major League.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 18, 2009 -> 12:44 PM) If he is healthy, he is what he is. A guy who can get on base regularly and cause some headaches with his speed. When he is hurt, he is worthless. If he pulls something, he needs to be DL'd instantly or sent to AAA, because he becomes a waste of space. I am talking defensively. He seems to react better to balls in center and does not appear to be the defensive liability he was in left. This lead is now insurmountable at 2-0.
  11. Ah Josh make him work a little bit. This team feels the need to swing at anything close. It is like their hitting appraoch is that of an 0-2 hitter....and not a good 0-2 hitter at that. Am I only only one that is plesently surprised by Pods? I hated him in left but he seems fine in center. Maybe Stone was right it is easier to play center than the corner spots. Maybe Nix isn't the answeer either. No no-no for Cy but the complete game shutout is still in order.
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 18, 2009 -> 12:35 PM) Interesting. Glad to see they are least testing him out in CF. He was the opening day CF last year. Why do they continue to run Lillibridge out there and now put Nix out there and insist on keeping Ramirez at short. Pods in left Nix at short Ramirez in center makes perfectly good sense to me.
  13. Hit it hawk......."And this ballgame is Ova!"
  14. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ May 18, 2009 -> 12:33 PM) The reach-around? Let him go, he is on a roll.
  15. Cy Richmond with a no-hitter through two. Although the pop out to left by AJ is encouraging.
  16. Richmond has a 92 MPH fast ball and 86 MPH change up? I am not watching the game but that doesn't lend itself to much success....after today that is.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 18, 2009 -> 12:00 PM) What do you mean, ramirez puts on an OF show? In yesterdays game thread or somewhere within the site Cowley talked about Ramirez shagging fly balls and putting on a show at chasing everything down. It truely is amazing what can happen when you let a pitcher who is not ready to start get themself in trouble.
  18. I do not care about Danks and Floyd I think they will be fine. The fact the offense can not hit again is alarming.
  19. So Ramirez puts on an OF show and the woeful defense takes a blow by putting Nix in LF. Is the managing of this teamg becoming inept beyond message board banter or is it just me. Betemit is a better option than Fields right now. The personnel moves within this organization for the last four months have reached the status of those made within the movie Major League.
  20. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 17, 2009 -> 02:44 PM) Sox should sign Sonnanstine for offense cuz hits!!!!!!!!!!1!1!1! The odd thing is that Sonnanstine sounded like a good hitting pitcher so they caught a lucky break.
  21. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 18, 2009 -> 09:23 AM) Richmond got rocked his last outing. I'm guessing we score 2 or 3. So did Richard.....
  22. Here is what is wrong with this team. Thome on first nobody out Ramirez gets a 2-0 pitch he can do nothing with and swings, likely ball three. Then he swings again at what would have been ball four and hits a weak grounder. Instead of 2 on no out there is an out. Aj swings at four pitches that were balls. They let s*** pitchers impose their will becasue they have embarassing plate discipline. Just a matter of time before the Jay O scores 4. Why isn't anderson up. The fact Lillibridge is playing over him now is sad. They said going in that Quentin would only play two of the four games.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ May 15, 2009 -> 07:24 PM) I know I got ridiculed for my Floyd hate last year, but everything about his numbers showed he'd really struggle this year. He led the league in unearned runs, which can be a scary stat. The Toronto game Floyd pitched sticks out as something that he can not shake. After Ramirez botched DP to end tte first he has sucked ever since. The Blue Jays were literally stealing on him before he even started going to the plate. He seems lost since then.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ May 15, 2009 -> 07:21 PM) I like Aaron Hill...just happy he's healthy. I'll root for this Toronto team when they're not facing the Sox. It's scary how much they remind me of the 2005 Sox. They would be really filthy if they hadn't been crushed with young pitches getting injured.
