  1. I think the Sox win 7 -4. Not sure why, I just do.
  2. Scales, Hill, Marshall equal a 3-2 game now. That is the thing that is tiring to Sox fans I believe. You knew the line-up last night would do nothing and it didn't. The cubs are fielding a terrible line-up and Lincecum is at 75 pitches at least through 5 and they will need to go to the pen in the 7th. Not that it mattered last night as Juan Cruz and Soria would've shut them down but this the frustrating thing. The cubs have a propensity of coming back after hanging around. The Sox have a propensity of sitting around and watching the other team win.
  3. Funny Lou is giving today's game away as five starters are sitting. Their line up is as bad as the Sox last night and they are facing Lincecum. 3-1 top 4 their hang around and then pinch hit with the regulars later in the game and win at the end.
  4. The problem with Walker and the Sox offense is that adjustments if made are temporary (one game or half of game) and there are no adjustments made through the game based on what pitchers are doing. I am not part of the team so I could be 100% wrong but it appearsto me that if a pitcher can pitch to a scouting report and stay with it, the Sox will struggle. Adam Eaton and Cyasaurus should not shut the White Sox down. Also any mediocore bullpen pitcher seems to be able to impose their will on the Sox quite regularily, I know not every game but on a regular basis, I use Baltimore as a good example of this.
  5. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 4, 2009 -> 07:38 AM) The Sox will get less than 5 hits, 7 total base runners and maybe a run. Better get Davies tomorrow. Missed it by a hit.
  6. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 4, 2009 -> 06:26 PM) Over/Under on a complete game, shutout for Greinke? -180 I really wanted to play against this team this whole road trip.
  7. Colon has looked fine tonight. The Pods show and the fact that the offense is worthless doesn't allow for any error. This team really has no fight in them and are really hard to watch. This game I understand the past weekend, not so much. Lillibridge makes me question KW as he has no clue on how to hit.......bring up Kroger. I wish somebody would ask what Betemit's role on this team is. Anderson couldn't get playing time becasue his bat was substandard...Betemit because his glove is.......Pods and Lillibridge do get to play and they do nothing good. Seems like Guillen is giving KW the big f*** you for giving him this s***.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 4, 2009 -> 09:01 AM) Obviously, if he couldn't make the Reds, chances are he wouldn't have made the White Sox. The big change is that Abreu would most likely be in RF. He had been having a decent year offensively last time I check, stealing a lot of bases. The Reds rotation is deeper than the White Sox.
  9. The Sox will get less than 5 hits, 7 total base runners and maybe a run.
  10. I am in the midst of a a family party looked at he score and the first thing I thought of is the Rangers starters who suck have shut the Sox out for all three games almostas bad as Toronto last year. Sorry time to can Greg walker.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2009 -> 11:20 PM) Maybe we'll actually play as many lefties as possible against him this game. Betemit better get some playing time this coming week with all the righties we'll face. But Josh Fields is just too awesome in the two hole to sit.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2009 -> 11:17 PM) Just see the awesome stats Kalapse posted about how much we've struggled against starting pitching this season. Should be fun to face Greinke and Galarraga next week. Outside of a few outliers every game has been a struggle it seems where are Kalapse's stats?
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2009 -> 11:16 PM) Miles hit over .300 in a lot of at bats last season. To say he sucks would be false, in my opinion. cubs don't offer the protection the cards did in the lineup last year. cubs fans I know are not happy with him at all.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2009 -> 11:12 PM) Another year where we're at a disadvantage every game that is started by our 5th starter. The tell tale sign in this series is scoring 1 run off of the starters for Texas. This team really needs to become more consistent on offense. The guy last night shut them out for 5 innings and they were shut out essentailly for 5 again tonight.
  15. QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 2, 2009 -> 11:02 PM) What? If you have no control you can not throw inside. Understand if you try and throw inside and miss your spot, so will our pitcher.
  16. QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 2, 2009 -> 10:59 PM) I don't think any of the pitches were aiming. None of them. Aiming or not then they need to focus on throwing outside and not attempt to come inside then. Lillibridge needs to be gone for a mediocore outfielder with potential.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2009 -> 10:45 PM) So they hit 3 of our hitters, and possibly broke Dye's hand...and not one retaliation pitch thrown. Seems to be a reoccurring theme with Sox / Rangers for the entire time Ozzie has been with the Sox. X-Rays negative on Dye. I tuned in in the bottom of the 6th and jsut saw the replay.
  18. Huff and Hawk talking like the Sox faced a good pitcher last night. Enough with the Lillibridge and Contreras already. Not sure what you do but this division is up for grabs and they need to do something.
  19. QUOTE (almagest @ May 1, 2009 -> 03:22 PM) You don't. If we were facing C.C. or Johan or something, I could see giving Getz a rest. But not ALL left-handers. Even if Getz doesn't hit lefties well, he can't possibly be worse than Lillibridge. Were Getz, Pods, Thome and A.J. 6 for 6 against lefties?
  20. MLB Network is great to watch during a Sox game when they are frustrating as s*** to watch but they fell in love with the yanks and maybe rightly so. Pods looked better as the game went on, his speed can't hurt. Getz looked really good. Sick of the cyification of Eaton, Cyasaurus and Feldman in a little over a week.
  21. Nolan Ryan was great on certain days obviously but he could not carry a team. Longevity is what made him what he is not necessarily the results.
  22. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 07:52 PM) My Crazy Crackpot Theory: This season ends with a nuclear explosion... followed but the passengers of Flight 815 walking of the plane in LA. What do they do about next season or is the show cancelled?
  23. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 10:57 PM) Awful play all around on the winning goal. Kane should have been covering the point when Barker broke to the net hard as Kane was skating laterally, but didn't (maybe he didn't see him). I will add that it was an awful pass by Versteeg, under no pressure, right into the skates of Kane. That started the turnover. He wasn't open, and you're passing backwards with a D breaking and lots of Canucks in the slot. Just terrible by Steeger. As for Barker, it wasn't the worst mistake to rush to the net with Versteeg with control. I have more of a problem with his backcheck, which I think will go overlooked comparatively. First off he stopped skating one stride after reaching the stanley cup playoffs logo. Then, his only concern coming back, since he will have no play in the 2 on 1, is to beat the 3rd guy to the net and be looking for the rebound to clear. He has Salo beat to the net by just a bit, then trails off towards the right post (skates over the right hash) for no apparent reason. If he skates down the middle of the ice he's got the rebound into the corner, instead he has to stop, flail and lose his balance trying to get a stick on the puck that is just barely to the left of center, and he just misses it. Just so disappointing to lose on that type of play. 3 things went wrong to lead to the goal. OT was right there. I guess the CBC feed had a good shot of Bowman ripping into Campbell to Tallon after the EN goal. Apparently it was a bad bounce, but puck was blocked by the boards so no one saw it. They need to stay out the box. All those penalties were earned. Keep your stick out of people's faces. Toews must be really hurt or sick. 13:46 of ice, not on the ice in crunch time. Consider me very worried about it. Game plan in the zone needs to continue to be getting traffic to the net and garbage goals, 2/3 were those tonight. You aren't going to beat Luongo very often when he can square and see the shot. WOW!!!! Darren Pang was on the SCORE this morning and basically spent 20 minutes saying the exact same thing you did above. The Bowman thign was intriguing. I get the feeling there could be something done with him over the offseason.
  24. I could not get over how bad of a coach VDN is. The inbouds plays had no creativity at all. I am not a huge NBA fan but you can inbounds the ball into the backcourt can't you? The Bulls are a better team than the Celtics right now. It would be a shame for them to lose. Rondo is a nice player that is being made into a legend becasue nobody is doing anythign about it. Somebody needs to challenge him at least a little.
