  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 18, 2009 -> 04:06 PM) Field is just starting to figure it out, and Getz is doing pretty well - not sure why you'd send those two down. And if you bring up someone from AAA as a hitter than isn't Anderson, I'd rather go with Kroeger than Phillips. Fields and Getz do not appear to figuring anything out. I liked them both as players but they started nicely and have regressed to a point where they are adding nothing to this team along with Lillibridge. Phillips can play third that is why I mentioned him.
  2. The Sox are in a sticky situation. They raised my season ticket price 10% this past offseason. If 2007 and 2009 are both cublike futility, I am walking. They screwed us over last offseason with the playoff deposit. If they sell guys to save money they better give it back to me....I know they won't. The Ray Durham deals don't cut it. You go down with these guys or you get guys that are going to contribute to a greater degree than the Lillbridges and Jon Adkins the world. This isthe slope Kenny Williams has made for himself. What needs to happen right now..... Send down Fields, Getz and Lillibridge. Bring up Phillips, Anderson and give any infielder in the minors a shot who may be able to not strike out and can hit mediocore pitching. s*** trade for Ozuna or Willie Harris. KW got himself into a world of s***. Then reassign Greg Walker
  3. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ May 18, 2009 -> 02:31 PM) What the hell is with our advanced scouting? Before anything concerning Walker or the personnel someone needs to look into the people who should be providing scouting reports on pitchers never seen. This is god damn inexcusable. Been that way for a few years now it seems.
  4. Maybe Cito Gaston was the right call 5 years ago...........he sees to have not missed a beat.
  5. Getz is batting .238 and his K/BB ratio is 2:1. He is young and it is early but I am not seeing the approach tht he was suppossed to have.
  6. I jumped away for a moment and missed all of the fun. Not pinch hitting for Fields is inexcusable.....oh wait he may bat this inning then the right handed hitting Betemit or Lillibridge would have to face Downs. The personnel moves this team has made are freightening. I thought Ozzie was gone today as awell?
  7. WOW DOES THIS TEAM SUCK!!!!!
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2009 -> 01:26 PM) It's sad we think Nix has had good ABs and his batting average is .222. My excuse for him, I'd like to see him get consistent at-bats at a position he has played before. I'll keep up the excuses. You think the fact he cost his team a run and mostly likely the game is wearing on him now?
  9. Richard with 1.2 WHIP and doing exactly what this team needs him to do. Really sad the defense and hitting are s*** right now.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2009 -> 01:16 PM) Dye could get you something (especially if Reds are involved). Jenks is the one he should really look to move. The whole pen could get you something. If you are moving Jenks, move Thorton and Dotel as well. Some team would also over pay for Linebrink (i.e. Yankees, Red Sox , cubs) It Really is sad that the thing almost every team needs is the thing the Sox are strongest at right now.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2009 -> 01:13 PM) 2? Something going unnoticed this year is how down our power numbers are. Maybe that's why you're better off just loading up with a homer hitting team instead of trying to add speed players. I am not interested in looking but htat sounds about right. Speed players are fine if they hit over .235 I think the poor farm system is coming home to haunt finally as neither Getz or Fields seem to be capable of handling major league pitching.
  12. What are the most runs scored in an inning by the White Sox where there has not been a home run hit?
  13. Richard is doing his job. The personnel decisions and hitting are killing this team. Walker oughta resgin. A guy on the post game yesterday pointed this out. If they like him this much let him work with younger kids because he ain't getting the job done here.
  14. Dye's K/BB is 34/9...not good.
  15. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 18, 2009 -> 12:50 PM) this is f***ing ridiculous. why is Nix a guy who by all accounts could be a gold-glove caliber infielder playing left-f***ing field? Why is f***ing Pods not in left, when Alexei can play f***ing center, and Anderson is healthy? I posted this earlier. The personnel decisions of this team look like something out of the movie Major League.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 18, 2009 -> 12:44 PM) If he is healthy, he is what he is. A guy who can get on base regularly and cause some headaches with his speed. When he is hurt, he is worthless. If he pulls something, he needs to be DL'd instantly or sent to AAA, because he becomes a waste of space. I am talking defensively. He seems to react better to balls in center and does not appear to be the defensive liability he was in left. This lead is now insurmountable at 2-0.
  17. Ah Josh make him work a little bit. This team feels the need to swing at anything close. It is like their hitting appraoch is that of an 0-2 hitter....and not a good 0-2 hitter at that. Am I only only one that is plesently surprised by Pods? I hated him in left but he seems fine in center. Maybe Stone was right it is easier to play center than the corner spots. Maybe Nix isn't the answeer either. No no-no for Cy but the complete game shutout is still in order.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 18, 2009 -> 12:35 PM) Interesting. Glad to see they are least testing him out in CF. He was the opening day CF last year. Why do they continue to run Lillibridge out there and now put Nix out there and insist on keeping Ramirez at short. Pods in left Nix at short Ramirez in center makes perfectly good sense to me.
  19. Hit it hawk......."And this ballgame is Ova!"
  20. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ May 18, 2009 -> 12:33 PM) The reach-around? Let him go, he is on a roll.
  21. Cy Richmond with a no-hitter through two. Although the pop out to left by AJ is encouraging.
  22. Richmond has a 92 MPH fast ball and 86 MPH change up? I am not watching the game but that doesn't lend itself to much success....after today that is.
  23. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 18, 2009 -> 12:00 PM) What do you mean, ramirez puts on an OF show? In yesterdays game thread or somewhere within the site Cowley talked about Ramirez shagging fly balls and putting on a show at chasing everything down. It truely is amazing what can happen when you let a pitcher who is not ready to start get themself in trouble.
  24. I do not care about Danks and Floyd I think they will be fine. The fact the offense can not hit again is alarming.
  25. So Ramirez puts on an OF show and the woeful defense takes a blow by putting Nix in LF. Is the managing of this teamg becoming inept beyond message board banter or is it just me. Betemit is a better option than Fields right now. The personnel moves within this organization for the last four months have reached the status of those made within the movie Major League.
